The Ruins of DionicaDionica was lost to history when the Priesthood of Xanth fell, or perhaps even before then, when it and many other temples were transferred from Earth during Elysia's creation. During a revival of the Priesthood circa 10,010 XA, and in a bid to reclaim old glories, the priests began to scour the world for lost treasures and relocated what they believe to be the very first of the temples built by Danyel — the very first priest — in Xanth's honour. It is unclear at this time whether or not Dionica, discovered high in the Duskies, is in fact the first of Xanth's Temples, or even if it was built in her name at all. Much of the structure was gouged out of the mountainside and may remain intact, but the external facade and features have crumbled away and block most of the exits. Likewise, only stone butts and overgrown ruins remain of what may have been the sanctified town that supposedly housed the majority of novitiates and pilgrims during the Priesthood's heydey. However, the Priests are adamant that this is Danyel's Temple and that, whatever else they find within, Dionica is a huge step toward their lofty goals.
