Elysian Fields is an original, realistic, modern fantasy founded back on the 5th of July, 2006. It's a play-by-post roleplaying site that uses the popular Invision Power Board (IPB) forum software to bring you into the game. Set in the present day, the game stretches across familiar Earth into a network of dimensions where Elysia lies at the heart.
EF is rated PG-13 (with allowances for mature threads) and provides a fun and friendly atmosphere for roleplayers of all ages and levels of experience. There are six different species to play and an immersive world to explore, as well as regular events (both OOC and IC) to participate in.
We operate on a level system that allows your character to gain skills and abilities, access to more areas, and better items as a reward for being active. Likewise, the higher your character's level, the more privileges you'll gain out of character, including better account settings and personal BBCodes for your post layouts.

Elysian Fields is a vastly open world where you make up the current events. We have occasional plots and quests to keep things interesting and draw the members together as a whole, but it's up to you what happens to your character. Everything you do and say has some impact on the world or someone in it, just as your actions will have consequences of one sort or another. It's a bit like real life, that way. XD
The Setting

Through the portals, just a step away from an ignorant Earth, lies Elysia - the refuge of dragons, vampires, shapeshifters and so much more. The worlds of the Elysian Fields teem with races only spoken of in stories and legends; but for Elysians they are an everyday occurrence - they are, after all, such beings of legend themselves. The creations of an all-too-real goddess, they live in a land where modern mortal life and fantastical history are entwined.
From the bustling market caverns to the strange and wonderful creatures of the Fae Forest, across the harsh landscape of the Scorpion Desert to the windswept peaks of the Dusky Mountains, Elysia holds endless possibilities and wonders.
