When Zephyr arrived at Kiel's house, however, it was dark inside. Zephyr banged at the door for a good twenty minutes. After a while of Kiel not responding to neither knocks or calls, Zephyr had ended up sitting on the kid's stoop in silence. Thankfully Kiel's landlady saw Zephyr and came out to tell the blacksmith that Kiel had headed home, as in to Dardanos. She said that Kiel had told her he'd be back in time to pay the rent, but Zephyr didn't feel like waiting that long.
It was now two days after Zephyr had figured out that Kiel wasn't even in Elysia anymore. to build up the courage to actually go after his boyfriend. Zephyr wasn't really sure what he was going to do when he got there, but never the less Zephyr went. He summoned Slythe who, quite reluctantly, teleported Zephyr to the land just outside of the Taskel's farm. The dragon then, even more reluctantly, stayed with Zephyr as he walked the remaining distance towards the farm itself.
He really wasn't sure what he was supposed to do, let alone what he was going to do. After all the times Daoine had left, he'd never chased after her. When Kaide had disappeared, Zephyr learned to move on with his life. It was the same with every relationship. It was part of why Zephyr kept people at a sword's-length distance emotionally. Zephyr couldn't deal with losing people, so he just tried to shirk them away. But there was something about Kiel. Somewhere between the boy's constant talking and rivers of energy, somewhere between training Kiel and chasing him about, Zephyr had begun to distinctly care about the boy. And that was probably what was scaring him the most.
