EF is six and a half years old. That is a spectacular accomplishment in the world of forum-based roleplaying games. I have loved every minute spent with these characters, every bit of fluff and drama, and I am proud of the world we have created.

Sadly, my health at the moment has made my job as an administrator more difficult than ever. I already had to declare a wiki hiatus, but I find I just don't have the energy required to run a game of this magnitude. (We may be small in number, but EF has always been a wonderful, demanding mistress.) I thought a break from the worldbuilding side of things would be enough, but I am very sorry to say that I just don't have what it takes right now to keep us going.

But fear not! I have no intention of deleting anything. EF is the brain-child of so many people, that just wouldn't be fair (though the site may blip for a couple of days at some point as I find us a cheaper server). The forums will remain open to existing members, and I would dearly love to continue playing out unfinished stories.

However, I am closing registrations. This might change in a few months if/when my health improves, and I apologise profusely to those currently designing characters. I hope that you will consider us again if EF does reopen. I am also closing the wiki to new submissions for the foreseeable future.

I want to thank you all from the bottom ofmy heart for making these last six years memorable, challenging, and fun. I consider you all friends, and you have shown me the best of people and our own world. If anyone would like to stay in touch, Xanth's PMs will remain open, or you can use the site email (elysiafields@gmail.com) if you don't have mine. (Keep following the twitter and facebook feeds, too, as I will announce there and by email if registrations reopen.)

I sincerely hope your experiences on EF have been as positive for you as they have been for me, and I wish you all the very best.
