Isabella dragged her feet along the cobbles, with obvious reluctance and embaressment. In her hand was a lilac piece of paper, her offering to Xanth. On that lilac piece of paper, was swirly writing in black ink. It was neat, with no smudges, and Isabella had taken such a long time to write this, that she was rather proud of her caligraphy. She glanced at it, and read it in her head as she paused in her strides to make sure it was okay.A poem to XanthorraNext time before you are about to kill,Even if it is not of your own will,Stop and think to yourself, is there a Goddess watching me?Watching every move, knowing what is to be?And if I bring down this fatal stroke, can it be enough for her to coldly watch me choke?Indeed you are right, young child,Xanthorra is watching you, her generosity mild,But always think of her as the humans think of their own God,Learn to love her;Worship her often;Only speak when spoken to;Don’t ask too much of her as to drive her to annoyance; And of course, don’t try and make yourself a God in the meantime. So what, you can’t see her?She could one day come to you in the thought of something beautiful,Or even as something to punish you.But when (if) you ever meet Xanth, be sure to curtsey or bow,Smile politely, don’t think a bad thought,And of course, remember what you have been taught. She felt a little embaressed for it but she did not want a boon for it, was simply out of respect for Xanth that she did it. She sort of looked up to her, even if quite a few people had proclaimed her to be a bit spiteful. Isabella did not really mind, for to be honest, she herself could be. And with all of that power, who wouldn't be spiteful? Bella continued to walk up, gazing up at the pretty statue for a moment before setting the piece of paper under a shiny rock so it would not blow away. She did not want her handiwork to have been a waste of time, Xanth must have it or whatever she did with her offerings. Bell closed her eyes for a moment, and focused on her inner thoughts. Dear Xanth, I have no favours to ask of you, I would not be so greedy as to do so. All I ask is that you take my offering, I just want to please you. I hope my offering does just that. Those were the words she focused on in her mind, hoping that Xanth would hear her.
