This always seems to be the most obsessive point for me. I can't just get up and roleplay. I have to scrutinize over details, which is very sad since much character development comes from the actual experience of roleplaying. But that's beside the point.

Here are some things to answer to develop your character some more. You can post here for your answers or just stick it in Word/Notepad.

Ooh, good questions. I'm going to answer those here. It might also be helpfull for other players to read some more indepth info on the other characters.

1. What is your character's main motivation in life?
Basically to get as much out of life as possible, especially when it comes to making friends etc.

2. What is one personality trait your character is proud of?
Openness to experience (one of the "big five")

3. What is one personality trait your character dislikes?
Agression as a character trait for others; stubbornness as a character trait of herself.

4. What is something that sums up what your character would want engraved on their headstone? (e.g: He was a friend to all.)
Beloved Friend.

5. What is one of your character's deepest fears? How was it realized, or what was one incident where it surfaced?
Daoine is afraid of spiders. She's had it for as long as she can remember.

6. What is a traumatic experience in your character's life, and how has it affected him/her?
The death of first her biological and later her adoptive parents. She's become stronger and more self-disciplined.

7. What is one secret your character would do almost anything to make sure it never goes public?
If she had feelings for a particular man. As much as she likes having lots of friends, she won't easily admit to having more intimate feelings for someone.

Well first of all, being an empath Daoine can probably easily sense whether or not the person is genuine. Then she would gently turn the conversation in another direction to avoid having to go into the proposal at that moment.

Actualy, that's one of the few things I can't do. Personaly, I find doing stuff like doesn't help me in any way whatsoever.

Personaly, I just think up something very basic, eg, name, species, appearance and a word or two that sum up the character and then start roleplaying. The personality developes as it goes.

Sometimes I have a really clear vision of the person's history, which helps, but if I don't generally I develope the history bit by bit. For example, if another person's char said to mine, "are your parents still alive?" sometimes I wouldn't actualy know that about my char, so I'd look at the char and decide wether I wanted his parents to be alive, would it fit. And I remember that peice of information, about a month later I have enough information to build a really structured version.

The only problem with it is to make sure two bits of information don't collide But if you have a good memory and/or notepad, they won't

Snobbish people, Jade can sometimes be a real -squeal- so its ironic

She is deathly afraid of things falling under her weight, she had a bad experance and fell through thin ice once.

She has been seeing more of her past, and shes been getting really caught up in this, secret kind of, these memorys make her wiser. She saw one of her best friends almost dead and that gave her more strength and the will to move on.

She gets too deep in her memory, and can remember anything unless in a state of panic.

Hooray! A response! I've filled out all the questions already (and more), but I'd like to post my answers too. Or at least the ones I can remember, seeing as my document is on a different computer.

Devi's main motivation would be the praise and thanks she gets from other people, either from doing something remarkable or helping people out.

She is an extremely ambitious person, and knows and loves it.

3. What is one personality trait your character dislikes in themselves?
She hates that she is a highly sensitive person, and many, many things make her cry that doesn't affect others.

1. What is your character's main motivation in life?
To find her purpose. Whether that is to fall in love, or to change the world, it doesn't matter. As long as she's certain that she's found what she was meant to do.

2. What is one personality trait your character is proud of?
Her independence. She's not afraid to do as she pleases, even though this kind of annoys people. A lot.

3. What is one personality trait your character dislikes in themselves?
Her temper/mouth. Mahesa tends to run off at the mouth a little too often, and she also has a rather nasty temper- two icky things that don't really help her out too much in life.

4. What is something that sums up what your character would want engraved on their headstone? (e.g: He was a friend to all.)
'Forever a song, lilting down the years'

5. What is one of your character's deepest fears? How was it realized, or what was one incident where it surfaced?
Mahesa's greatest fear is probably leading an unfulfilled life. When she was stabbed, she was ready to give up, but her one nagging thought was that she hadn't done so many things she'd wanted to. Wasting her life had never been a high goal, and it never will be.

6. What is a traumatic experience in your character's life, and how has it affected him/her?
Probably the worst moment in Mahesa's life was her near-death status for several weeks. She hadn't been sure whether she was going to survive or not, and it made her realize how much she had left to do.

Mahesa really doesn't have any deep, dark secrets- she's too open for that. But if anything, she wants to keep her family, and her past on the dl. She's trying to forget about them, and constantly being reminded about them won't ease the pain.

Mahesa would undoubtedly freak out, and run away. She may know how to handle a sword, but she can be a bit of a coward in public confrontations. She gets embarassed too easily.

Dying. Ilire dislikes the idea of leaving loose ends, and of course the whole 'dead' bit. His mother was mortally injured in a bizarre accident that involved a car, a cow, and three tulips (don't ask) and died in his arms at the hospital.

Ilire got beaten up by an angel. A female angel.

He was in love with the angel that beat him up.
