Le Bois de Vincennes A park in Paris

Badger had been walking close beside her but as she left the streets of Paris and walked into the gardens of the park, she unleashed him so he could run freely. He barked twice and then darted off between some bushes chasing after something that he'd smelled.
Daoine walked into the direction of one of the park's 4 lakes, Lac des Minimes. She sat down by the shore and deeply inhaled while taking in her surroundings. Closing her eyes she slowly started to doze off in the few sunrays that were breaking through the clouds.

Daoine's eyes went up to the sky. Judging from the position of the sun it had been at a couple of hours since she first arrived at the park. Dusting some grass of her shirt she pulled up her legs underneath herself ans straigthened her back. As she sat in the Lotus Position she closed her eyes and tried to clear her mind. Thoughts were raging through it though. The past quest, the monster-attack, the poisoning, her feelings for Zephyr and vice-versa.
Squeezing her eyes closed even more firmly then at first, she now made a serious effort to close all thoughts and emotions out. She needed to find rest, and meditation was the way to do it.

Stretching her arms and legs Daoine looked to the water of the Lac des Minimes. It had been a flawless surface before but as the breeze picked up, ripples started to form creating an interesting display.
An image slowly started to form into Daoine's head, an image of a Golden Beast Dragon.
It had been only a few days ago since she performed the Summoning Ritual. It had been an interesting experience and although she'd been unsure at the beginning, she had been able to complete the ritual successfully. Only after two attempts 'her' Beast Dragon had answered and came to her. ...Cychwyn... The name rang through Daoine's head like a clear bell. The Beast Dragon itself had been magnificent to see. She was smaller then the Blue Beast Dragon that had been in the Marketsquare with Kade and Dazadi. Also she was fairly young and inexperienced, but nevertheless their personalities had connected instantly. Daoine had become a Bonded Summoner, and was proud to call this beautiful Golden Beast Dragon her newest friend.
Daoine wondered if she could attempt to reach Cychwyn, however she realized all too well that summoning Cy now would come at a high cost. Especially in the beginning when the bond wasn't at it's full potential yet, the Beast Dragon could ask for serious rewards in order to answer Daoine's call. Then again, if she wanted to strengthen their bond and friendship, she'd have to spend time with Cy. Deciding to try and go for it, Daoine closed her eyes and folder her hands. Sending out her call to Cychwyn, Daoine waited patiently for a reply.

Many miles from Paris in another realm, Cychwyn had just landed near a small pond to get a drink of water. She'd been up and about since the sun came up this morning, flying around and just hanging out with some of the other young adult dragons. Over the past few days she'd excitedly been telling them over and over again about how she got summoned and met this humanoid-dragon that she was now bonded to. The woman whose name was Daoine seemed very kind. During their first meeting Cychwyn had felt a connection to her, thus she'd stayed around instead of transporting right back to her own realm.
It was a warm day and as she and her friends were gulping up the water, she suddenly felt a familiar sensation as if someone was calling her. Surprised for a moment she lifted her head and concentrated. Soon she recognized it as Daoine's call. The sensation was the same as when she'd been first summoned, though this time the humanoid-dragon was effectively calling hér instead of looking for a beastdragon in general. With a sense of pride she turned to the others to tell them she was being summoned. Although she had been enjoying the day with the rest of the group, she was quite curious why Daoine was calling her. Nodding to her friends she stretched out her wings and lifted into the air. Then in a split second she vanished, only to appear before Daoine moments later.
Landing on the ground with a loud thud, Cychwyn's look penetrated Daoine. At first Cychwyn had thought that maybe Daoine was in danger and she would have to rescue her, but it seemed her summoner was doing just fine. Chest forward Cychwyn stepped up to Daoine "Why did you call me? Is something wrong?" she projected into Daoine's mind.

"Why did you call me? Is something wrong?"
Daoine softly shook her head as her eyes were fixed on the ground. She only just now realized she had no idea how the Dragon would react to her summoning without an emergency. "I .... I ...." she mumbled "I just wanted to spend some time with you..." she sent back to Cy. Shyly Daoine lifted her head and looked into the Dragon's eyes. "I know your summoning comes with a prize, but I would like to strengthen our bond and get to know a little more about you." Her hands fumbled with the brim of her t-shirt as she felt rather nervous at this point.

"I .... I just wanted to spend some time with you... I know your summoning comes with a prize, but I would like to strengthen our bond and get to know a little more about you."
The corners of Cy's mouth curled up slightly in a grin, at least her summoner knew she didn't come for free. But still she was impressed with the fact that she'd summoned her anyway just because she wanted to spend time with her. "Since you're new at this, and your intentions are true I'll cut you some slack but only this once. A nice golden locket on a necklace should do this time."
Cy slowly let herself sink to the ground and folded her wings to her sides. Looking at Daoine again "Sit down and tell me something more about yourself before I tell you anything about me."

Stepping back quickly Zephyr wondered if he could spy the dragons summoner. After all, he'd never heard of a dragon just randomly coming to Elysia. Slowly Zephyr tried to wrok his way around the dragon. All he needed was to see the summoner...
"Daoine?!" Zephyr shouted outloud. He actually didn't realize he'd said anything as he stumbled backwards and to the ground.

"Daoine?!"
Hearing someone shout her name, Daoine immediately jumped up and looked around. Looking past Cychwyn she suddenly saw Zephyr just in time to see how he stumbled onto the ground. Quickly walking around Cychwyn, Daoine rushed over to her friend and held out a hand to help him get up again. "Are you okay?" she asked with slight concern. She hadn't seen him since Suka had healed Daoine from the poisoning, and that situation had been quite ackward. She'd been trying to determine her feeling for the Red Dragon eversince.

Realizing he was still gripped hold of Daoine's hand, Zephyr quickly let go and looked awa from his fried. Quicky he found the easiest subject to quickly jump to. "So um... you're a summoner now I assume." Zephyr said forcing a casal smile. "Who's your friend?" He asked his friend.

He felt bad for how he'd acted in the house upon his return. She'd obviously been hurt by his nonchalance, but, he was avoiding getting upset with her. Yes, he could have done so in a better way, but after all Styx had put him through, and the emotional toll that he was feeling from Dazadi, he'd been worne down to nothingness. She had to have felt that. If not, then at least seen it.
Still, he blamed himself for being such a jerk. Dazadi was with his child, she didn't deserve him acting as he did. And now he felt horrible. Maybe... maybe he should just give in, but plead to Xanth to watch out for her. If she got into any kind of trouble... Xanth would see, and could stop it. Sighing once again, he shook his head. He just... didn't know what to do.
Looking up as he smelt the fimilar smell of the lake, he raised an eyebrow as he saw a golden dragon before him. Beside her, he could tell by her body mass she was female, two others stood. He wasn't wyvern anymore, but the well fare for his fellow dragons was still embeded within him. Coming up to the two, he smiled and gave a polite nod of the head toward the beast first, showing the respect she deserved.
Looking at the two, he found his gaze attracted to the female more. As much as this is our sancuary and home, humans still exist here. Some who might not be so accepting to see a mythical beast before thier eyes. He warned. The best place to interact with one's dragon would be in Elysian only areas, or out in the wilderness where no one could see them. Or sanctioned off parts of Paris that were made specifically for this purpose.
Reaching into his pocket, Kade pulled out one of his throwing stars he had, the ones he could easily get remade. Holding it out for the beast to take, he smiled at her. You're quite young arn't you love? Tell me, have news of a black dragon's reapperance spread through your home? He'd not heard from Siphae in while. She was supposed to get this information for him, then return. But she had her own life, and he understood. Besides, he'd been busy with training and Dazadi... although he was more than curious about who that man could have been. The only surviving black dragon known... soon to be another. He was sure of that.

Pressing a hand to her stomach, above the small bump of her pregnancy, as she arrived in Paris, she stuffed her other fist in her mouth to stop herself from being sick, stumbling dizzily. Groaning a little, she muttered to her stomach, The faster you're out of me, the better. She loved this kid but it would be healthier for everyone when he wsa born. Assuming it was a he. Which she did.
Ugh, let's go find your dad. She didn't find it odd at all that she spoke to the baby as if he could understand her. She did find it odd that she hadn't noticed the big dragon right in front of her until now though.
Stepping back, she nodded respectfully. Phae had given her the opportunity to develop dragon-skills she wouldn't ordinarily have, but they still unnerved her a little. They were so big and took up so much room, and they had a tendency of spouting off riddles just to look cool. It was annoying.
She wondered what it was doing here. This was a pretty public place, or... well she thought it was. Maybe she was out of touch. Heck, she knew she was. Still, she glanced around to make sure there were no Terrans anywhere in range, then saw Kade and stopped dead. Dragon forgotten, not even noticing the other two Elysians, she looked at the ground sheepishly. Hey.

He didn't care that othere were no more than a few feet from them. He didn't care that he was ignoring the beast he just greeted, or the fact that he was here trying to behave like somone he wasn't, in letting the two know about the possible dangers. All that mattered in this moment was that he held his love, and let her know just how he felt. I'm so sorry Enye. I shouldn't have been so cold. Forgive me my love. He cooed into her ear, stroking her head softly.
He loved her more than his own life, or anything in the entire universe. If it ment he had to put of becoming a black dragon, if it ment he had to stay by her side and never leave, he would do it. For the sake of their baby. And as soon as the child was born, as soon as she could handle it, he'd take her away. Just the two of them, and he would pamper her lik no one has ever been before. Dazadi style. Extreme sports and risks. Anything her heart desired.

As her wings closed around them, her cloak did too but the brat was interrupting the flow so that only bits of them were invisible. Dazadi knew it in the back of her mind but didn't care. Drawing back to look up at him, feeling lost and confused, she ran her fingers across his cheek, kissing his chin. I need... to tell you about Suka. But we need to talk about us more. She didn't want to start another argument but it had to be done. They had to figure out how they were going to play this pregnancy and as much as she wanted to lock herself up for the good of their baby and marriage, she daren't. She knew how it would affect her. Maybe... maybe she could stay inside if Kade would agree to escort her outside for a few hours a day. It wouldn't be ideal... maybe Phae could escort her sometimes too, or anyone else that they trusted with her safety and temper. Hell, that Nymph earlier, she'd seemed eager. And powerful. Maybe Daz could talk to her... she wanted to apologise anyway.

Zephyr said as he looked into Daoine's eyes. Daoine glanced back at him, her head slightly tilted while their hands were still gripped into one another. She sensed Zephyr's emotions and at the same time recognized strong emotions from herself aswell. A shiver ran down her spine as she realized how intense she was holding on to his hand. Suddenly Zephyr let go of her hand and looked away, leaving Daoine's glance move to the ground as she blushed.
"So um... you're a summoner now I assume. Who's your friend."
Daoine looked up, her eyes finding Zephyr's again "Yes indeed" she said while a smile appeared on her face "I took the ritual and am now a Summoner indeed. This is Cychwyn, the Dragon I'm bonded to." she continued rather proud as she turned towards the Dragon. "Cychwyn, this is my good friend Zephyr. He's a Red Dragon." she introduced him to her. For a moment she felt ackward. Untill now there had never been many empaths around her so her own emotions had always been pretty safe, but Cy could no doubt sense that there was more going on then met the eye between Daoine and Zephyr.
Before Cy had a chance to reply though, Daoine sensed someone else coming towards them. Looking around she saw a man which looked vaguely familiar. As he walked up to them she recognized him. Hadn't she seen him with the blue Dragon in the Marketsquare when the monsters attacked? And wasn't he the same man she'd seen when Zephyr and herself had been in the ferriswheel right here in Paris? It was a while ago and especially her memories from the monster-attack were clouded as she'd not been conscious the whole time. But she was pretty sure it was the same guy.
As much as this is our sancuary and home, humans still exist here. Some who might not be so accepting to see a mythical beast before thier eyes. He warned. Daoine blushed, this time not because of her feelings for Zephyr but because she was slightly embarassed as she had not taken this into account. However this part of the park was pretty much deserted thus the risk of normal humans seeing them was minimal. "You're right, I should have thougt better of that." she apologized to the man. Wondering who he was she was about to ask him as she noticed he took a shiny star out of his pocket and offered it to Cy. Not wanting to be impolite she didn't interrupt and waited while her eyes wandered off to Zephyr again. Unwantingly the thought that he really was quite goodlooking wandered into her head.
While her thoughts wandered off with her, she sensed someone else approaching them. It was Dazadi, one of Xanth's Aides. Dazadi more or less ignored them and directly approached the unknown Red Dragon.

As a Red Dragon entered the scene, Cy moved to stand up on her feet again slightly defensice. Quickly she felt the sense of recognition between Daoine and his man, thus was assured that there would be no danger. As he had stumbled down to the ground, her eyes followed him. She grinned, apparently he wasn't used to seeing beastdragons. In a quick assesment she concluded that he didn't seem to be very old, not much older then Daoine anyway but he had quite a past. A lot of feelings pushed away, a lot of pain and frustration that he'd tried to ignore rather then work them out. Cy wondered if Daoine knew about all this. Her eyes kept following the interaction between her summoner and the red dragon. Then another grin appeared on her face There was definately more going on between these two then was spoken out loud. They fancied secretly fancied eachother...
As Daoine introduced her friend to Cychwyn, the beastdragon took a few steps towards this Zephyr. "It is nice to meet you, Zephyr, góód friend of Daoine." she projected into his mind with a clear emphasis on the 'good'.
Moments later another Red Dragon approached them. He was older, more experienced and quite stronge as Cychwyn sensed. She smiled contently as he definately seemed to know how to show proper respect to a beastdragon. Cy bowed her head slightly in reply to his greeting. She listened carefully as he spoke to Daoine. He was right, and Cy realized that she herself should have known better too. But she was still new at this whole summoning-business and had mostly been curious about why Daoine called her thus had come without paying real attention to where. The next time she would definately have to be more carefull.
Then Cy's eyes fixated on the Red Dragon again. He took a shiny object out of his pocket and offered it to her. Cy moved towards him and curiously looked at the item. It was a pretty shining star, some kind of weapon apparently. This offer was too good to resist and quickly she took it and tucked it away safely into one of her claws. This was hers to keep.
You're quite young arn't you love? Tell me, have news of a black dragon's reapperance spread through your home?
"I'm not thát young." she projected back into his head with a sarcastic undertone. Then continuing to answer his question because afterall he had offered her a lovely gift "Some rumors have been going around yes. It is said that Xanth sent out to have one of her old Aides retrieved from Nanea. Supposedly he's residing in her Temple now. I don't know much more but ..." she ended abruptly as a figure appeared right in front of her.
Ugh, let's go find your dad. Cy looked amused at the Anyeli that had teleported here. She was pregnant, no doubt about that. She had been talking to the baby and apparently hadn't noticed the beastdragon in front of her. As she did, she stepped back and nodded giving Cychwyn a chance to greet her back. Again Cy was pleasantly surprised that this was another individual who seemed to know how to approach with respect.
Quicky the pieces fell together as the Anyeli saw the Red Dragon that Cy had been talking to. They engaged in an intense conversation, forgetting everything around them. Cy sniffed exasperated. The Red Dragon had been talking to her, and now this Anyeli appeared and she was being completely ignored. Well so much for decency. She stomped one of her feet on the ground loudly and scraped the soil with her claw to make known she was annoyed with the couple. Then she turned to look at Daoine and Zephyr who had been awfully quiet the past few minutes.

Your getting so big my love. My previous worries are almost null right now. I just... i need to know you will be safe while i take my ritual. He whispered to her, his cheek pressed against hers as he hugged her. If he knew she was safe... the baby was safe, then get could pass his ritual. He knew all he needed to know, he was sure of it. But if there was any thought in his mind that Dazadi was in pain, or the baby was hurt... he'd not survive.
Hearing a stomp on the ground, Kade looked up, remembering they wern't alone. Looking toward the three, Kade gave them a nod. It was a pleasure to meet you. But we must be going now. Bowing slightly toward the beast, and giving the other two a nod in goodbye, Kade grasped Dazadi's hand as we began to walk toward the portal.

Placing her hands on top of his head as he stroked her belly and asked the brat if he was being good, Dazadi's gaze followed his movements as he unfurled and cupped her cheek, leaning up to meet his kiss halfway. This was good, it was right, washing away her fears.
Your getting so big my love. Swatting his arm as she pouted, Daz patted her protruding stomach gently. Wouldn't be long now before the brat was squalling in her arms. She'd almost miss the lump... but at least they wouldn't have to worry about her inability to defend herself much longer. We'll be safe, love.
Jumping slightly as the big dragon stamped behind her, Daz twisted awkwardly to look over her shoulder, rubbing her back with a grimace. It was a good thing she wasn't going to be this big for long, the discomfort would drive her mad. The worst thing was trying to do something she was used to being able to do, like getting up off the couch without having to twist and bend awkwardly, and realising she couldn't actually do it.
Mirroring Kade's respectful nod at the small group, Daz let Kade pull her towards the portal. As they moved, she tucked herself under his arm, wiggling a little when she felt the summoning from Xanth. Heaving a sigh as she realised she wasn't likely to get any time with Kade soon, she drew to a stop. Xanth, she muttered. The word was self-explanatory. Since it wasn't urgent, she wasn't going to poof, but it changed their destination. Market... Ooh, it's that pub we went to the other week. Grinning wickedly, she started tugging him towards the portal. I never did get that milk, love.

She turned to Zephyr again. Both of them hadn't spoken in the past couple of minutes as most of the interaction had taken place with the others. Unsure of what to do now as her feelings for him still made her feel confused, she said "I think I saw a small vendor-stand about half a mile from here earlier today. Should we go and get something to drink there?". In her mind but not out loud she continued to address Cy "I hope you're okay with this? I'm sorry we got interrupted and didn't spend much time together as I had planned."

Moments later as Daoine addressed her, Cy lazily turned her body around.
"I hope you're okay with this? I'm sorry we got interrupted and didn't spend much time together as I had planned."
Indeed Cy didn't mind at all. She was getting tired and wanted to take a nap anyway. "I'm fine with it, I should go back home anyway. But don't forget my necklace and locket. I expect you to have it for me when you next see me. Remember I don't come for free. Let the way the red dragon approached me be a lesson to you. He knew exactly what to offer me before asking a question."
She looked down to the shiny star in her claw, then lifted her head to the sky. With a few strong motions of her wings she lifted herself into the air and with a poof she was gone.

As the man and his Anyeli friend, who actually looked remarkebly like Dazadi, left, Daoine returned her attention to Zephyr, apparently asking if the Red Dragon was thirsty. "Um, yeah... yeah, that sounds good Dae." Zephyr said, not even realizing that he'd shortened her name.
Zephyr watched in awe as the beast dragon flew into the air and then disappeared. She's a magnificent creature, Dae." Zephyr said, hoping she was female. When she spoke to him mentally she'd sure SEEMED female. When she'd spoken to Zephyr he hadn't responded, but he did blush slightly. His reactions to telepathic communication was starting to not hurt quite as much, thankfully.
Smiling now with the two dragons alone, Zephyr relized Spirit was still roosting. Letting out quick whistle, a groggy Spirit flew to his shoulder, angry at being disturbed during his nap. The owl didn't like all this day-time travel, not one bit. But did Zephyr ever listen to Spirit when he squaked about it? Nooooooooo, the dragon was always so ignorant...
"Shall we go then?" Zephyr asked his friend.
