Faroah's Nest

Hopping around at the top of his largest pile excitedly, he had the presence of mind to know he should thank Dora. And in the way of dragons, there was only one way to thank someone.
Pick something, he told her, flapping his wings to indicate the huge nest he'd built. You can have anything you want. Just in case she wasn't accustomed to dealing with dragons, however, he added, as an afterthought, But just one. It would be up to her what the value of the item she picked was. Some people were foolish and picked the first thing that glittered, others took their time. In exchange for a bag full of shinies, Faroah didn't mind losing one. Especially if Jack was as excited as Faroah thought she would be when he presented her with his pickings.

Looking up at the mound, she furrowed her brow. Surely if she walked on it, she'd crush the fine jewels with her weight. Her face softening as she thought of it, Nymphadora extended her wings and flew after Faroah. When she got to the spot where he stopped, she alloud herself to touch down, but used her ability to keep the air pressure high underneath her, making her seem to be standing on the air itself. Which she was.
Opening the back, she poured it out gently in front of Faroah, the knife clunking hard on top, compleatly out of place amung the other fine silver. Smiling as she tucked the back away, Nymphadora lifted her brow at Faroah's offer. Anyone would die at a chance like that, however, it didn't seem right. Besides, Nymphadora had no use...
Smiling, she looked down at Faroah, pulling out her bow with the gems embedded inside. Thank you for your offer, but it's not necessary. However... if you could allow me to borrow 4 gems... with my bow as collateral, i'd appreciate it. And you'll get your gems back as soon as I can. She'd not normally offered something, but she noticed how he'd pointed out she could take one thing only. Asking for 4 gems... she didn't think he'd want to part with them. Even if he was getting them back. If he did allow her the gems however... he'd be glad with the outcome.

Hmmm, the offer was an odd one, but she had been nice to him. Most of the Aides saw him as nothing more than a pet or a pest, but she treated him with respect. And the bow was pretty...
Poofing from his position to land on the bow in her hands, he skittered along it, inspecting the gems embedded in it. It was beautiful. Eel, he told her, then remembered to repeat it telepathically just in case she didn't understand him. Deal. If she didn't return the gems, it was no hardship really, since he had a sizable nest egg for Jack out of the bargain.

After setting him down ontop his new pile, Nymphadora looked around. Finding 4 perfectly round gems, the right size for what she wanted was easy. There were so many to choose from. Leaning down, she plucked 4 of the closest ones, then turned to Faroah and held her hand flat for him to see exactly what she was taking. 2 rubys, and 2 black dimonds. I promise... i'll have these back to you as soon as I can. She said with a smile. Reaching out, yet again not being able to resist, Nymphadora tickled him under the chin. Thinking about Pipers shop, she focused as she had before, then dissapeard in a light cloud of smoke.

Once she let him go, he returned to the pile of shinies he'd collected for Jack, arranging and rearranging them over and over. When Dora showed him the four gems she was taking, he didn't pay much attention, not until she tickled him under the chin. Lifting his head for her to tickle harder, he flapped his wings in pleasure, chittering at her.
Then she was gone, and Faroah turned back to his shinies, wondering what arrangement Jack would like best.

Extending her wings, Nymphadora took to the air, heading toward the center. Still keeping her eyes out for the little red dragon, it was hard to find him in the endless nest of beautiful things. Faroah? She called out, wondering how long it would take to search for him in the mass before her.
She wanted to give Jack Faroahs doll, and Faroah Jacks doll, but she had decided on her way here that she'd much rather give both to Faroah. Besides... she'd promised to return all the gems. She'd be minus two if she gave a doll to Jack. However, with a little hint, Faroah would probably give Jack the doll anyway. Although, she had a feeling he'd give Jack the little Jack doll, not getting the significance of giving her the doll made in his likeness.

When he heard Dora's call, Faroah's head popped up and he skittered out of the brocade nest, chittering a warning. Realising it was only the girl who had given him lots of pretties, he calmed down, scampering up to the top of the nest to meet her and show off his handiwork. Ooh, ooh! he told her, flapping his wings at the beautifully arranged shinies. Look, look!

Lookinf down at the part of the nest he was gesturing at, Nymphadora smiled. She didn't see a big change... in fact, she didn't see a change at all. If she hadn't seen him arranging the silver her'd gotten eariler, she'd have no clue what he was trying to show her. It looks lovely Faroah. She said softly. It was lovely. All of it. Any mortals dream would be to find themselves in a place like this.
Carefully navigating her footing so she could crush anything, taking refuge on a pile of coins, Nymphadora crouched down, gesturing for Faroah to come over. When she was sure he was in viewing range she smiled. Faroah, I have something for you. Pulling out the dolls, Nymphadora held them in front of her, tilting them slightly to allow the light to catch the gems in their eyes.
One is you... and the other is Jack. She said with a smile. Maybe... maybe you'd like to give Jack one? She reccomended softly.

Seeing her gesture, his curiosity got the better of him and he poofed across the distance, skating down the pile of coins to land at her feet, his head cocked quizzically. Normally he didn't like to be this close to people who weren't Xanth but she'd been generous and kind and her kisses were pretty. Maybe he'd let her kiss him again.
All thought of kisses was swiftly wiped from his mind as he saw the dragons in Dora's hands. They looked just like him and Jack! And... their eyes... Shiny!
Poofing onto the girl's hand, he wrapped himself around her wrist and dangled over the red doll to get a better look. Ooooh its eyes were red too, and oh so sparkly. Yesyes! he told the girl. Presents for Jack! The black dragon would love these dolls.
Poofing back to the top of his nest, where he'd arranged Jack's goodies, Faroah flapped his wings and squawked as a gesture that she should follow, bobbing his head up and down over the spot where he wanted the dolls. Jack would love them, yes. Pity she didn't have an extra set for him...
Ooh but wait, she said to give Jack one... Meaning he could keep the other? Oooooh. Yes yes! He liked that idea even more. He could keep the red one of himself and give Jack the black one... but where was the fun in that? They already knew what they looked like and could look at themselves every day if they wanted... Yesyes, he could give Jack the one of him and keep the black one for himself! Even better!
Naga, he thanked Dora, wondering how to repay her. She'd only taken four tiny gems in payment for her first gift, and as it turned out she hadn't even taken those really. Nono, she deserved something good. Take something, he told her firmly. Gifts as beautiful as she'd given him deserved something wonderful in return. Anything you want. This time, he wouldn't take no for an answer.

When he looked up, saying something she could only assume was thanks, Nymphadora nodded quietly, over joyed by his glee. She felt so... at home in the temple. She loved the little guy before her. Even more so, she loved Xanth and Namiko... and just... being here with others that cares for her.
Hearing his voice in her head, Nymphadora grinned at the offer. She was sure anything she spotted here would be a perfect gift, but, although she knew she'd end up taking something anyway, seeing as his tone was deffinate, she wasn't qutie done dishing out the love.
Kneeling on some coins, Nymphadora reached out to gather Faroah in her arms. Snuggling with him softly, she nuzzled his neck, then kissed his head. How about the love of my diety's dearest friend? She cooed at the imp dragon, rubbing his belly softly.

The love of her deity's dearest friend? Yesyes, that was him. Did he love her? Possibly, in this moment. After all she had not only gifted him but given him a means to gift Jack too. More than that, she seemed to genuinely care about making him happy and had never once become irritated or agitated. Faroah wasn't as stupid as he knew others believed him to be - he could tell the difference between posing and true generosity. Dora seemed genuine.
Kissing her cheek again, he poofed back to his pile of treasures, coming face to face with the doll of himself. Ooh he was a handsome devil.
Anything! he repeated, cooing back at her. She might make a good pet yet.

Letting out a small sigh, feeling add taking something when she was in need of nothing. Looking around at the mass of jewels before her, Nymphadora carefully navaged her way past Faroah. Bending down to run her hand along the dragons head, she smiled adoringly at him before walking past him to look around.
There were so many treasures. All shiny, all intresting in its own way. She found a few metal scraps... kitchenware, silver cups and trays. A lot of usless things mixed in with a lot of pricless things. All of which were amazing. Although why Faroah would pick metal scraps... Still, it was his nest.
As she walked she spotted several nice things. Necklaces, braclets. One belt that looked quite intresting. But even though it was all pretty, Nymphadora didn't want to take something simply for the fact that she could. There wasn't a point in that. Turning around, intent on returning to Faroah without a gift for herself, she began making her way back. Either, she'd taken a different route, or the angle in which she was now pointed out something that caught her eye.
Tilting her head, she made her way over to it. After a few pulls, and a slight rearranging of the items around it, Nymphadora pulled out a silver bow, angraved with tribal markings and embedded with dimonds and saphires. Looking at it wide eyed... the metal alloy was exactly what she was looking for. It looked silver... but it wasn't. It was stronger... harder. The fact that it was decorated in such a way, Nymphadora was shocked something like this even existed. And who in Elysia could have possibly owned it, or even created it?
Smiling, she found the one thing out of anything in the pile of treasures in which she not only wanted, but would use. Its weight was immense, she knew this only because it took her Aide powers to hoist the think up. With that extra ability though, it weighed no more than her others had.
Walking back to Faroah, she smiled and crouched down. Holding out the bow, she placed it on the ground for him to inspect. It was his... she'd let him give it to her.

Seeing her rearrange his goodies, Faroah snickered a bit but she'd already done the damage. Besides, he spent most of his days in here rearranging one pile or another so if she'd found something that appealed to her enough for her to dig for it, he could live with the mess she made.
Watching her climb back up to him, he untangled himself from the Jack-doll and hopped up onto the bow. Ah he recognised this. It was an offering to Xanth, one of the items he'd taken from her pile during Halloween when the imps allowed him to snatch shinies for himself.
Chattering at Dora, he bobbed his head and hopped back to his newest pile, curling up again with his head tucked under his wing, ready to sleep.

Glad he wasn't looking at her as if she were being greedy, Nymphadora smiled, then reached out to let her finger glide across the bridge of his nose. Sleep well my friend. And thank you. She said softly to the dozing dragon. Thinking about the garden, Nymphadora poofed to it, anxious to test out her bow. Without realizing, she'd left her old bow... yet another gift of semi shiny to add to Faroah's growing collection.

Luna snorted, her black eyes shimmering intensely. Kade had tossed her out of the house after she'd bugged him to the point of doing so. She didn't think what she's done had been all that horrible. He looked sad, and she was curious why. Unlike other dragons, Luna didn't view pride as something easily broken. She herself, had little to none. Of course, she was oblivious to half of what went on around her, but even if she wasn't she still wouldn't care. Everyone thought what they thought. If someone were to say something to her that she didn't like, she'd just spit acid at them.
Kade however, obviously took his pride seriously. For each time Luna scrambled up his arm, poking her head in his face, he'd swat her away. At one point, she'd had to port to prevent from flopping onto the floor. Sometimes her summoner really angered her. Well if he was in such a rotten mood, she wasn't about to try and cheer him up. He could sit there and sulk for all she cared. Besides... she missed Wolf. She'd seen him yesterday, but that was too long. Luna was bonded to Kade, and the brute came first and foremost. But Wolf was someone she'd gladly leave to visit. He always fed her snacks, and his vampire friend always had fuzzies around her.
As she was about to place herself in the middle of a pile of plush, her mind jumped to the red winged beast that was Faroah. It seemed like ages since her beady little black eyes laid upon the crimson male. His mind was even more garbled that hers was. Which would prove entertaining. Grinning, a small hiccup escaping her jaws, spurting acid several feet before her, eating a hole in the dirt, Luna squeezed her eyes shut, teleporting herself directly into Faroah's nest.
Claws scrapping along the metallic surface of a golden helmet, Luna's eyes widened, gazing out over the vast collections. Her nest... was just big enough to fit her body. And thats because the maids always came in and put away the fluffies she'd took from the walls. Inching forward, hopping haphazardly onto a pile of gold coins, her feet slid out from under her, causing her to sprawl forward, chin planted in a sea of treasure.
