Hey guys, sorry to do this, but you guys are getting a bit too big for your boots. I've noticed some of you with powers you shouldn't have at level 1, and this is mostly my fault.

However, 'shifters have no excuse, since I put up a post in the Grove about what their powers are at what levels. Please read it, as I've noticed some of you posting since that went up without amending your character's skills.

I realise we're all still settling in, and I'm pulling the rug out from under you. My favourite saying right now is "I'm still working the kinks out" so please bear with me.

I will ask you, however, to not get too... magical. Try to refrain from using powers at all for now, please, until I can get your species information up in your Sanctuary.

You feel movement in your hands. Your purse seems to have a mind of its own as it evades your grasp. A few dollars escape from your purse and fly onto the man's palms.

He grins widely, revealing teeth almost as sharp as the woman's. "For saving you." Looking at his grin, you find his words doubtful. But you're too wise to ask him that.

The air around you becomes extremely warm and you back away in reflex. Hearing a 'whoosh', you realize that the man has left the area.

Wandering into that dark alley definitely wasn't a good idea.

As some of you are aware, recently Faroah decided to play hide and seek. I offered $5 through Dazadi to anyone who could find him for me, but every time they did, he escaped again and went back into hiding.

However. Xarya brought it to my attention that he was no where to be found, so I did a little search of my own after all (so much for a quite day at the waterfall). To my horror, he really had disappeared.

Someone must have trapped him, either deliberately or accidentally, so that he could not be seen (ie, deleted him from their post).

In the future, if something like this appears in your post, please do not remove it. The only people who can edit your posts are you, the Aides, and myself, and believe me the latter have no cause for putting something there that does not have a purpose.

Whether this was accidental or not, I thought it worth mentioning, because things like this will occur from time to time in the future and I do not want my beloved Faroah to go missing (for real) again.

Only species who do not have natural weapons (ie claws) can buy weapons.

Species considered to have natural weapons:

Shapeshifters, since they can morph into an animal with claws. Certainly at lower levels they are not all that dangerous, but even a tiger cub can cause damage.

Species allowed to buy weapons:

Vampires have fangs, but I do not consider these to be dangerous since you cannot truly use them in a fight, you must have your opponent immobilised before you can use them without risking your own neck.

At later levels, dragons and demons will not need weapons either but for now, their powers are too weak to be considered as natural weapons and so they are allowed to buy from a smithy.

This is fine - except that these same people are roleplaying in their chosen Species. In order to do so, they must contact Xanth - otherwise, you have no powers at all, no abilities, no wings, no slitted eyes, etc. You are considered human.

Please keep this in mind, and make sure to read the Newcomer Guide thoroughly.

It has been brought to my attention that not everyone is giving appropriate credit for the images they are using in their sets. This is incredibly unfair and rude to the picture's owner (eg. Tree Free or Furiae) but is also illegal.

Over the next few weeks, myself and the Aides will be cracking down on this and removing any images that do not have proper credit, including a link to the place where you found them.
