The pet shop sells pets only to responsible people. I have noticed not everyone is buying food weekly. This means your pets will be hungry. I dislike people owning hungry pets, and so will be forced to take them away from you and re-home them. If you cannot be at the shop and are perhaps a couple of days late, I will be willing to overlook it. Everyone has busy lives. However, if you go over 10 days without buying food, I'll be forced to take action.
