[Katah]

Katah walked through the portal in New York City. She was looking for a place to get a drink but also to enjoy herself, because it seemed that there weren't any clubs in Elysia and the local bartender wasn't in the bar. Out of the corner of her eye she spotted a club, it looked promising... Approaching the bouncer she used her charm and beauty from being a nymph to get in easily, no bribe needed. As she entered the place she felt the thud of the music in her feet. She smiled a rarity in itself. She walked down a rather dark hallway finally reaching the main area of the club. She came out on a balcony overlooking the whole place. Walking over to the railing she looked down and saw a sea of people dancing to the beat of the music. Slowly she walked down the steps causing several men on the side of the balcony to turn and stare at her. She smirked, she was so used to this kind of attention from men that it gave her a sense of power.

Finally reaching the sea of people she worked her way into the center and began to dance with several other people who willingly allowed her into their group. After several minutes she worked her way toward the bar. to take a rest, and of course get a drink. Catching the attention of the bartender she ordered her drink. Vodka and Tonic She smiled at him as she ordered and as a result received the drink for free. Taking the drink in hand she turned and leaned on the bar and surveyed the club looking over it as if she owned the place.

[Lyf]

Sure, Lyf had her fancy wine, but right now she wanted something stronger. She was bored and once she got to the market lost all interest in anything non-booze related. So, she did the next best thing to drinking. Drinking and dancing! She went to earth and went to the nearest club. The guy saw her in her skirt, white hair flowing down to her waist, eyes burning like wildfire, and he let her in. He was scared of her, and entranced.

The music was a techno beat that didn't interest her. However, she did find a drunk bouncer and managed to trick him into a drinking contest, she won after a sip because the man was drop dead drunk, she raiding his pockets and bought herself a drink that was gone withen moments. Spotting a woman at the bar she sat down next to her and spoke to the bartender "One of whatever she has." looking back at the woman "Sorry, where's my manners? Probobly left me in 1834, anyways's I'm Lyf, and you?" then she realized she broken a sacred bar rule, too her at least. You always buy the person your talking to a drink! "Want another drink?"

Katah was still looking around when a young woman caught her eye. Her long white hair and short skirt, & halter top she seemed to attract as much attention as she herself did. She followed the girls movements, watching as she took on a drunk bouncer in a drinking contest ultimately winning because the bouncer was drunk off his -donkey- anyways. She laughed on the inside as the girl rummaged through the guys pockets. This girl is my type of person. to bad she's not elysian or else we could get along quite easily. Partners in "crime" Seconds later her Vodka and tonic was gone and katah was about to work her charm on the bartender again, when the other girl came and sat next to her. The bartender was directly in front of them when the girl ordered another drink. One of whatever she has. Katah was taken aback at her confidence, but regained quickly from her shock. Sorry, where's my manners? Probably left me in 1834, anyway's I'm Lyf, and you? Looking over at the female she noticed a strangeness about her eyes they weren't normal. It took her several seconds to put two and two together. 1834? weird eyes? of course she's a dragon. This could work out indeed. Want another drink? She smirked her triumphant and confident smirk. I'm Katah, no worries about the drink i'll take care of both yours and mine easily. Waving the bartender down she watched as he walked over and slightly pulled down her halter show a bit more cleavage. What Landon doesn't know won't hurt him. She smoothed her voice and let it flow melodically as she spoke. Hey there my girlfriend here is a bit short of cash and i unfortunately lost my wallet earlier this evening. Would you mind giving us a couple of drinks on the house, just a couple of the same things we had earlier. As a second thought she gave the man large innocent puppy eyes which she had mastered years ago. Several minutes later She and Lyf had two Vodka's and tonics each. Giving her new found friend a wink she could get them free drinks all night if she wanted. So dragon what brings you out of the confines of Elysia? She spoke calmly and cooly. She wouldn't have been talking about it as openly even with her guess of what lyf was, but she had already had several drinks and was a lot easier to speak with.

Lyf grinned as she assumed the woman came to the realization that she was either a skeleton, a ghost or she drank to much booze. But wait...no, her eyes had the same look as Jade's, except hardened. She then noticed how easily she seduced the bartender into giving them drinks. Ahh,Nymph. she thought, smiling slightly still. She heard the woman introduce herself and confirme it, she'd never heard of such a forgein name. Catching the bit about My Girlfriend... she smiled, look's like she had a drinking buddy who also liked to drink.

Drinking a Vodka, a slight burn went down her throat, not that you could notice it. She was known for drinking large quantity's of alchoal and still be able to walk home sober. She liked this Vodka, it had less alchoal then most she drank, so she could drink a hell of alot more of it. she slightly gagged for a moment when the woman asked her what she was doing outside of Elysia, then regaine her composure. She smiled "I wanted a stronger drink then coffee, the damn bar has nobody working there, besides that," she took a sip of the tonic "What's a nymph doing in a bar?" her eye's twinkled, this woman was....different, more her style then anyone she had ever met.

Katah laughed as lyf gagged at her questioning why she wasn't in Elysia. It was obvious even the dragon was not one to speak of Elysia openly. Katah turned her eyes from the people dancing in the club to lyf. I wanted a stronger drink then coffee, the damn bar has nobody working there, besides that, What's a nymph doing in a bar?" Katah wasn't phased at the question of her being in a bar. It was true you never would normally catch a young nymph out and about with out a companion of sorts but Katah was a one nymph kind of girl. She smiled wondering if she should reply or not. Well she did answer my question I came out here for the same reasons you did , nobody in the bar and no want for coffee. That and I'm not like your normal nymph. Though i do obey the nymph law for no violence, it doesn't mean that i don't use my abilities to get what i want. She winked at lyf to show she truly meant what she said. Katah wasn't one to lie she either gave you the flat out truth or didn't answer at all. and it was true she wasn't a normal nymph, most nymph had the long flowing hair while katah had a short spiky hair style, and most nymphs wore light clothing such as robes, but she on the other hand preferred her camo cargo's, with boots, matching green halter top, and gloves with studs on the knuckles, though the gloves were just for show. She turned her attention to the crowd once more contemplating whether or not to go out dancing again.

Lyf took another sip of her tonic and watched as the woman thought and then spoke. Listening intently, although not letting it show.She saw Katah look over the dance floor. "Feel free." she said "I'm not going to be moving for most of the night." Katah then got up and started heading for the dance floor while Lyf watched other people dance.
A drunk man came up to her and put his arm around her "Hey *hiccup* sweetheart," he said "Wanna, *hiccup* come with me?" She took another sip of the Vodka before turning back to the man. She grabbed his shirt as sexily as she could and all but purred "Sure, but first...."

then she did something that turned a few heads. She poured her drink over the man's head and pushed him aside. "I don't normally waste a perfectly good drink like that, but I make exception's for special people."standing up, she finished her tonic "Don't try for what you can't have love." she said beforeturning her attention back to the bar. "That man seem's to have taken my Vodka, may I have another?" The bartender handed over her drink with wide eyes and she turned back to the drunk man. "Won't see many like me, consider yourself that I was feeling nice or it would have been much," she leant down beside him "Much, worse." the man looked at her with awe and backed away.

Katah had headed off to the dance floor and was dancing in the middle of a circle with several young men when she saw that several peoples attention had turned toward the bar. Looking over in that general direction she saw what had attracted their attention. Lyf had don something that would have made Katah proud of had the woman been her little sister. Apparently she had dumped a drink down a drunken bouncers shirt. he must have ticked her off some how. Not even bothering to tell the men she was dancing with sorry she walked off the dance floor and headed over toward Lyf. She arrived just as she finished speaking again with the drunken bouncer. Much, worse. Smirking as she walked up she knew that Lyf would make the perfect addition to the group. Who cared what the others said Lyf was in because Katah said she was. As the bouncer walked off she noticed he was talking with several other bouncers who were apparently on break. Turning toward lyf she grabbed her wrist and began to pull her toward the main door. When bouncers began congregating it wasn't a good thing. Lyf i think we may have over stayed our welcome lets get out of here, i need to speak with you anyways. as she spoke she pointed at the bouncers. But she gave her a quick smile and a wink to show her she had done exactly what katah herself would have done.

Once out on the street she noticed that lyf still had her drink in her hand and Katah laughed inwardly. finding another bar wasn't hard but this time she chose one that was a bit more mellow that way they could sit and talk. Entering the place she sat at a table in the center of the place attracting a lot of attention from every man in the bar. Giving the bartender a wink as she sat down a waiter showed up with two free drinks. It wasn't anything special but still it was alcohol. Lyf i have to ask you something. Are you by any chance in any kind of group, tribe, or gang. Her question was strange but it was important.

Lyf visably paled as she saw the bouncers get together. She could beat them with one hand tied behind hre back, but ruining these mens already horrible reputations and causing a scene would get her kicked out. As if reading her mind Katah grabbed her wrist and dragged her out. Thank God. Wait....why was she still holding her drink? Whatever, it didn't matter. Katah apparently knew her way around here well as soon they where at another club with drinks in front of them. Damn that woman had good connections. Not that she was complaining.

She raised an eyebrow at the question given too her. Lyf i have to ask you something. Are you by any chance in any kind of group, tribe, or gang. Bold woman, her style. She approved this woman in her head for a friend. Taking a sip of her drink she nodded her head no. "Grew up in a little Roman Village in a mountain, joined a tribe, left. Friend founded a tribe," she took another sip "Quickly ended once two people in the tribe died, one a lover and the other a newborn." She set the drink down "So no, not currently. Why do you ask?" if this woman went around befriending people to get them to join a hunting tribe Lyf would be so -mad as a hatter-. But somehow she could tell Katah wouldn't. "One thing," she said "Do you have a nickname? You're calling me by mine, I think it's only fair." she chuckled slightly "Then again, the only person who knew my real name other then me died a long time ago."

Katah didn't expect Lyf to go all crazy on her when she asked this question and as she had assumed, her new found friend was calm and cool. As Lyf responded she listened sitting back in the chair and sipping her drink. Towards the end she caught the question Lyf asked her. One thing, Do you have a nickname? You're calling me by mine, I think it's only fair. Then again, the only person who knew my real name other then me died a long time ago. Katah chuckled along with her friend. Thinking for a minute she decided on which name to tell Lyf. My nickname's Kat but everyone calls me Katah in my group of friends. Which is why i had to ask you that question. You see i hang with a group of tight knit friends and we usually bring outsiders to hang with us but usually they can't handle the heat, and the excitement cause we're always getting into trouble, jacking stuff, and drinking and partying all the time, just having a good time but they don't undersatnad and they leave after a day or so. You i can see you hanging with us and staying. Which brings me to this I think you would fit in perfectly in the group, do you want to hang with us from now on, when we're in Elysia? Her speech was bold, and blunt, but she had confidence in Lyf's answer.

[Lyf]

Lyf listened to Kata...Kat. Her new friend. It felt nice to say she had another friend. Most people where intimidated for reasons beyond he knowlage, why she was friendly, wasn't she? Well, maybe the booze turned them off a little...but, focus! Focus Lyf! She mentally slapped herself and she listened to Kat as she spoke, nodding occasionaly and taking sips of Vodka. Inside she felt happy that she was wanted and she smiled once asked. "Of course I would, butttt," she grinned "I've only had seven drinks! Lets have a few more; afterall," she said, taking a sip of tonic "If I'm going to meet your friends I best me good and proper sober." she then winked and took a large gulp of alchoal. "After all, my hand only tingles, I'll be sober twenty drinks from now. Three hundred years is a great time to build an immunity."

A few men began to dance and after there three drinks where done she and Katah began to leave so Lyf could meet her friends when an all to familar face greeted them. It was bouncer from hell. She and Katah managed to get to the portal, leaving a confused man tring to figure out how two woman vanish into thin air.

Katah walked through the streets of the NYC looking for another suitable club behind she drug Lyf by the wrist. Something was seriously wrong with her drinking buddy and it called for them to go out for drinks and discuss the issue. Really she didn't care but she couldn't have Lyf paying for things like she had been doing as of late, the woman had seriously lost her edge and that was what Katah had been attracted to in the beginning. Alright girl this is what were going to do, we're going to get dirt -donkey- drunk figure out what the hell is wrong with you and then you can go back to being your old self. She talked in a low voice over her shoulder. Coming to the first semi-modern bar she could find Katah pushed the doors opened and went to the bar ordered two screw drivers and then walked over to a table at the back of the place. It wasn't pack sinced it was a thursday night but still it had a fair amount of people in it. Waiting for Lyf to take a seat Katah stared at her.

Like me...?

Lyf was dragged through the marketplace by her swearing friend unexpectedly. Who knew that the nymph could pick a lock? Damn, she was sleeping deeply too! At least she closed the door before getting her sorry -donkey- dragged to Xanth knows where. If someone tried to look her apartment, they'd be dissappointed. She had barley moved in. She could've overpowered Katah and asked her what the hell was going on but she knew with Katah, you let her get her way and answers came sooner or later. Weather or not you liked the answers was dependent on the situation.

Being dragged through a crowd was not a plesant, for one thing cause nobody would more out of there -yargh-ng way! God, Katah was a -squeal- sometimes. Being dragged over a table in the corner, she sat down, and faced Katah. When the first thing she noticed was a concerned face.....-zap-. Had she heard about her paying Janx? Or was this something else? Then Katah's face really hit her. Katah....was...worried about her? Katah didn't get worried, she drank until she forgot emotion. This must be bad.

Alright girl this is what were going to do, we're going to get dirt -donkey- drunk figure out what the hell is wrong with you and then you can go back to being your old self.

Taking a moment to read her emmotions, Lyf realised that she was stressed and aggreviated. Staring Katah straight in the eye she spoke evenly "First of all, Katah, there is no booze, and I'd prefer we not 'chat' over air." she whistled to the bartender and smiled, waving. Before you could open your mouth, two whiskeys where infront of them. Lyf took a sip of hers and then set it down and sighed "Katah....I.....I..." siging again "I have no idea why this happened." gulping, knowing what was coming next she said as calmly as she could "I broke my shell." she knew Katah would get the phrase and swear at her, Lyf stared at her an dlet down her barrier, showing all her emotion in a glance, all her pain, fear and her confusing. She quickly put up her emotion barrier again and took another sip of her whiskey.

As the bartender walked over with two whiskeys he set down the two screwdrivers. Katah was never a fan of whiskey so she slid the glass over to Lyf. By the dragons comment Katah realized that Lyf still hadn't learned the names of some of the drinks that Katah drank. A screwdriver, to put it simply, was orange juice with vodka. As Lyf stuttered her words out, Katah stared at her taking a moment to take in her words. As Lyf let her emotions show, all the pain and confusion hit Katah like a rock. "Well -yargh-!" she yelled rather loudly, making several heads turn. Glaring at her drinking friend she wondered what the hell she could do. She really didn't want to talk this out but if she didn't then she would be down a friend. "Dammit Lyf, this is going to be a long night start talking and I'll get more drinks. "

Booze me up!

Lyf found herself in an awkard situation. Half of her hoped Katah would say censored and leave, and not talk to her for a week until booze was involved but the other half of her wanted Katah to order some drinks, get confuzed and get her drunk. And thank god thats what happened. She couldn't risk loosing Katah to! She was barely sane as it was. And...crap. Everyone's emotions in here varied and seemed to influence her. It was like having ultimite hormones, one minute happy, the next sobbing, the next screaming at whoever looked in her direction. It was hell. "Remind me why i picked Aumurus Sept.." she muttered and took a sip of a screwdriver.

Over the next few hours, the bar filled and emptied; the two talked until Lyf managed to become a little better thanks to her friend, and Katah and Lyf fell asleep for ten minute periods, then woke up, yelled at each other, cried saying theye where sorry because the booze was...really effecting them. Fianlly Lyf checked a clock on the wall and swore rather loudly, whitch made the bartender roll there eyes and wish they could drink on the job. Chucking some money at the bar, Lyf said goodbye to Katah and made her way for the marketlace, hopefully to meet up with that Salem kid... or to get a poptart. That sounded good right now.
