That reminds me of...

Everything we do reminds of something, some other time we've done the same thing or a story we've heard about a similar event. These remembrances help to shape who we are and how we react to the things that happen to us now. Your character wasn't born yesterday (even if their account was >>; ) so whatever they do will remind them of their past. For our eighth challenge we ask that you take a trip down memory lane by bringing your character's history and background into the open.

Easy Level:

Hard:

Make two separate posts that double the post requirements of the forum you post in, each with an extra 50 words that reveal more about your character's history and background.

Focus on the extraordinary

For your character to level up here you need a minimum number of in-character roleplay posts and that number depends on your current level. For instance, to reach level five you need a minimum of 500 posts while level two only requires 25 posts.

However, these post requirements are only the minimum and are guidelines to make things easier on our staff. The real trick is on your end - you can make a thousand posts and still not reach level two if you don't roleplay your character realistically. This means having them use their abilities and talk or think about their heritage. Elysia is full of wonderful characters all hailing from different backgrounds and yet so many rarely talk about their racial history. We don't just mean using their abilities in combat, we mean talking about the way the wind ruffles the feathers on their wings, the way their horns sometimes snag the wool of their hats in winter, how a new Vampire doesn't know their own strength or is overwhelmed by the bloodlust.

Your challenge is to show us how their heritage has helped to shape them into who they are today and help us make Elysia a three-dimensional world for your characters to romp around in!

Combine five Challenges

Reality is a combination of the five senses plus our emotions and thoughts, history and background, hopes and dreams. All these things come together to affect our judgement and reactions and will govern your character in a similar way. Our tenth and final Summer Camp challenge requires you to utilise previous challenges in order to expand your posts and bring your character to vibrant life.

You can use any combination of the previous challenges as long as you include at least five in your entry.

Submission Requirements

Easy Level:

Write a minimum of 250 words no matter which forum you're posting in (more if the forum you're in requires it). Combine any five of the previous nine challenges (example: sight, emotion, smell, thought and the mundane).

Hard:

Write a minimum of 400 words (or more if the forum requires it) and combine any five of the previous challenges.
