Holding Piper tightly, Wolf lifted her hand and gazed down at it softly. The wound she'd received was long gone, but he still felt sick about what happened to her. It seemed that having Piper be in such danger, while he was only a few yards away, was enough to calm him for quite awhile. Not to mention scare the -zap- out of him. Lifting her hand to his lips, his eyes closed softly as he kissed her flesh, tucking her even closer to his side. If anything had happened to her... he honestly didn't know what he would do. He'd be a broken man. Even more so than he already was. Wolf appreciated Piper. He loved her. But at times, his brain just didn't function properly. Unfortunately, Wolf didn't realize this, or the effect it had on Piper. The moods he had, he took them as them came. If he was happy one minute, and uncaring the next, he wouldn't realize the change, nor would he be able to stop or prevent it. Those close to him knew this all too well. Sadly, Piper had to deal with it on a much more personal level.

Grasping her hand, his cheek resting on the top of her head, Wolf slowly walked toward the beach. After what happened, he thought it best to try and have a little fun. Forget about worries. Landon had been pestering him to stir up some excitment, something they'd done in the past that had proven fun. He'd already worked out the details, and set everything up. They just needed to go out and do it. Wolf was all for having some care free fun. It seemed like it had been forever since the entire group just hung out. It was actually him. Well, both him and Piper. It seemed that he'd found himself messing around with multiple jobs. None of which, of course, had worked out. He'd just recently taken over the Hind's Head. Although with as much as both he and his friends drank, he didn't expect he'd be there for too long either.

Finally coming up to the docks, their perspective target being one of the multiple boats floating in the harbor, Wolf paused by the rope railing, turning to face Piper. Lifting his hand to caress her cheek, more loving than he ever been to her before, he smiled softly. "Are you sure you're up for this?" He asked for the fifth time on their journey. He didn't want her to go if she was going to have a bad time. It wouldn't be fun for anyone in the long run. He'd rather help Landon steal the yacht, and then come back to Piper and leave.

Piper had been a jittery mess since a dead girl walked into her shop. Kaida had somehow come back from the dead. As if the trauma of that wasn't bad enough, she blamed Piper for the demise of her tribe and was now sworn to kill her. It was all a bit much for a girl who'd only come close to violence or danger by watching TV and practising in the back yard with her best friend.

Wolf... had been so sweet. He hovered over nearly every minute of the day, constantly asking if she was okay. His mom had snorted at him, telling him not to crowd or baby 'the poor brat', but Piper appreciated it. She didn't feel crowded by it, she felt safe. The minute he stopped touching her, she began to feel fragile and vulnerable again, like precious vase that might shatter at the sight of a stiff breeze. Right now, held so close and so tight, she felt like he'd never let her go and while her brain might try to reason with her that he couldn't possibly hold onto her forever, Piper wasn't listening.

Watching Wolf with doe eyes that had become rather haunted of late, Piper smiled faintly as he kissed her knuckles. Burrowing against his chest, Piper paid no attention to where they were headed, just gazed up at Wolf as they walked. As the sound of the ocean reached her ears, Piper's gaze shifted and she looked around. The scene was familiar and had a vague suspicion of what was about to happen but she couldn't bring herself to care about the laws Wolf and his friends were about to break. She'd been through so much in such a short time that her mind had decided to take a little vacation.

Studying the yachts and boats lined up along the dock, her boots thudding on the wooden deck, she started to wonder where they were headed. Wolf told her to wrap up nice and warm - in fact, he'd near about dressed her, which Piper still found mildly amusing - but he refused to say where they were going. At first, she'd thought he meant to take her someplace around the palace, but they'd headed for the portal and then here instead. It was sunny, warmer than was comfortable under her bobble hat and thick padded jacket, but she didn't want to leave Wolf's arms long enough to take them off.

As Wolf drew her to a halt beside the rope railing, the scent of fish and salt water reached her nose. Smiling up at Wolf when he cupped her cheek, eyes solemn, she almost smiled at the irony. She'd wanted him to be more attentive, more hers, but she hadn't intended for it to happen this way. Or for it to be temporary like this.

Grinning at his question, Piper nodded, reaching up to cover his hand with hers, the wool of her gloves separating their skin. "I'm sure, Wolf." It would do her good to get some fresh air and spend time with their friends. Besides, the further she was from the rainforest, the less likely it was for her to run into Kaida.

Smiling, her eyes serious and honest, she reached up to kiss him gently. She was uncomfortable with displays of affection around the others, especially Jag who tended to make a big thing out of it, so she wanted to show how much she loved Wolf, how much she appreciated everything he was doing for her, now before they met up with the gang. "I love you."

Ooh lookout, eh? *eyes peeled* Ouch that's painful. XD

Lyf was bored. She had agreed to come, but there was nothing interesting going on. Plus, this place gave her the creeps and reminded her of her old home before Elysia. Shuddering, she whispered softly enough so that nobody could hear "That was a long time ago." thinking silently while she patrolled the mist, she felt love from two people that she couldnt identify, and alot of other emotions. Being bowled over by this, she resisted the urdge to yell, and insted brought back painful memory's, the ones that had scarred her, made her hard shell come, trusting people....wasn't an option.

Quote

A male voice whispered in her ear, wordless things. Her eyes where wide with fear as she tried to push away from a man that she once called a friend. "Its no use, you cant run." shuddering, she tried to push away, but only got her hand grabbed. "You cant run from me, my Night Woman." "No." she whispered, "stay away from me." His grin was feral "I'm sorry, thats not an option."

He was the reason she never told anyone her true name, and that was something she didn't plan on telling anyone soon. Like she had told Katah, the last person to know her true name died long ago, but the grudge remained. Here in the mist reminded her of those memory's, when she was a woman of Rome. But those days passed, her people died, and a history was forged. Coming back from her thoughts, she shook herself slightly and hid in the shadows, the best she could, running back to Wolf. Seeing the theatrics, she couldve rolled her eyes, if she wasn't focusing on not being swpet over by the emotion. "No trouble so far Wolf, we almost got the boat?"

Janx strolled towards the docks in his own pace. Someone had opted to get a boat and go out to Ceracen Island today, which the rest ofcourse had thought to be a good idea. The only little problem was that none of them actually owned a boat so stealing one was the first course of action in this plan.

As he neared three figures standing close to the first pier where about 10 boats were tied up he coughed silently. He'd been doing a lot of that lately, coughing. Probably he had caught a cold during one of his nighttime flight practises. When they got back from their sailing-trip he should probably go by the hospital to get some cold-medicine. Word around the street was that the Nymph supposedly had some effective and good-tasting stuff.

Walking around the three he greeted them and asked to no one in particular "So what's the plan? Do we have a target already?" Looking at the first and second pier, his attention was caught by a motoryacht of approximately 20 metres that seemed quite luxurious. "Sailboat or motoryacht?" he asked next while nodding towards the boat he had his eye on. Sailing would be great aswell but it would ask of ateamwork involving some physical effort. And unfortunately not all in their group were keen on making themselves sweating and tired. The wind was good for sailing today so that shouldn't be a problem, but a motoryacht would allow for some more relaxation. Still the most important thing was to actually steal a boat first without getting caught.

~Want Landon as your own character? PM Nymphadora for details!~

Toying with the keys in his pocket, Landon walked forward briskly, glancing behind him once more as he strode forward. He'd been charting the boats that passes by the Ao coast for over a week, and one seemed to be a rather often accurance. To top that, it was more luxurious than the other common fishing boats. He believed it to be a company that offered day long cruises, sometimes even renting out the boat to experienced drivers. Of course, because it wasn't someones private property, snagging the keys and stealing the damn thing would be harder than he thought. It took him nearly 2 hours of waiting in the same place before the keys had been left unattended. As he'd plucked them from the cabinet which were riddled with others, his heart had raced so fast, he was sure he'd die of a heart attack before he got the chance to steal the damn thing.

Walking quickly, trying to save time in cover the long distance in a short time, Landon glanced back again. He could have sworn he'd seen Katah looking out back there... but it might have been someone else. The entire gang was littered all over the docks, making sure everything ran smoothly. It was the first time everyone was working without digging at each other. That would come later when relaxing on the boat.

Looking up, seeing Wolf, Piper, Janx and Lyf, Landon grinned, lifting the keys out of his pocket and jangling them. Tossing the scraps of metal the distance to Wolf, he smirked. "Easier than I thought." It wasn't, of course, but he'd not tell them that.

Katah had played look out for Landon for two hours and she was starting to get bored. Pacing back a forth she kept an eye on several people who seemed suspicious ready to call Landon off if the need came. Hearing the jangle of keys and the footfalls she slipped around the trees tailing Landon watching his back to ensure no one had caught on to him. Smirking she was getting a thrill out of this. It had been awhile since the whole gang had gotten together to do something reckless.

Shivering slightly from the cold bite of the wind Katah pulled her leather jacket closer around her body it was close to freezing out here it was a good thing she was smart enough to check the temperature before coming out here. As Landon came to a halt in front of Wolf, Piper, Janx and Lyf she came up behind him. He hadn't known that she was watching out for him and she was going to keep it that way. Kissing him on the lips she grinned and turned toward the others. "So what boat are we taking?" Realizing that they were still missing several people she gave Landon a questioning look"and where are the others?"

Wolf kissed Piper tenderly, the feel of her lips pressed to his melting his anxiety. It was hard not to think about what happened to her... how close he was to loosing her. -yargh-... he did loose her. She'd died, right there in his arms, he'd held her limp body. And now he wanted to go out and steal a boat? What the -yargh- was he thinking? He wasn't thinking, thats what. Shaking his head as she told him she loved him, his timing, not exactly spot on, Wolf, pulled her close into his body, holding her tightly. "Lets forget this, it was a stupid idea, I don't want to stay here. Come on." Starting to walk away, not wanting to give her the chance to protest, Wolf looked up to see Lyf stopping before them. Letting out a sigh, he knew he'd lost his chance now. if Lyf was here, the others wern't long off, and there's no way Landon would let him bail now.

Casting a sad glance at Piper, Wolf shook his head. "I don't know... I've not hear from Landon." Hell, he didn't even know what boat they were stealing. Although he assumed it wasn't one of the countless fishing boats bobbing in the harbor. Just as he expected, Janx came up not long after Lyf. Shaking his head yet again at nearly the same question, Wolf shrugged. The loving calm he'd felt earlier was turning into a depressive state. He didn't want to be here. He... felt like every moment he was with Piper, not holding her like he should be... was a moment wasted in their lives. A moment he could never get back. She would outlive him... he prayed to Xanth, if nothing should happen to him. But it was quite obvious now, anything could happen. She could die. She could die on this trip! No.. he didn't want to go. Because he knew he had to however, it was starting to wear him out emotionally.

Hearing the jangle of keys, Wolf looked up just in time to catch them. Having had to move around Piper to do so, he gave a nasty glare at his friend, about to scream at him for almost hitting her. Thankfully Katah came up distracting Landon, allowing Wolf the moment to realize he'd not be careless on purpose. Looking down at the keys, seriously hating the fact that he was tied to this now, Wolf looked up at Janx. "Take care of Piper. Seriously... don't loose her from your sight no matter what." He said, his tone threatening. They all knew what happened, Wolf had spilled his guts to Landon, who had told Katah, and it spread around. He assumed that jag accidentally heard and was being an -donkey- about it, but he didn't care.

Looking to Piper, he gazed lovingly in her eyes, scared for her life... even though he had no reason. "Stay here... I'll get it set up." Kissing her passionately, as if it was the last kiss they would ever have, Wolf thrust his girlfriend toward Janx's arms, then ran off, keys in hand. Bringing the ring of metal to his eyes, he took in the number, matching it with the spot where the boat should be located. As he approached, he gazed up at the white behemoth, his teeth clenching with determination. Unhitching the boat from the dock took minutes, nothing hard about that at all. Jumping onto a rope he'd had to hitch to the side, Wolf scampered aboard, flinging himself over the side. As his feet his the deck, he ran to the bow, slipping into the cabin after unlocking it. Finding the control room, he let his eyes take in the multiple switches, glad it was nearly the same as the model he stole before. That one took 20 minutes for him to figure out. This one only five.

Firing on the moter, flinching slightly with the roar that followed it, he quickly began to move the yacht out of the docking area and toward the abandoned pier he was to meet the others at. Hopefully Falene, Jag and Catrina made it in time... otherwise they would be left behind. Pulling up to the dock, Wolf fired down the engines to barely running, and bolted onto the main deck. Finding the ramp, he pushed it out, watching it slam to the wood, allowing the others access. Stepping out, he gazed toward the group, his eyes trying to find Piper. Hopefully she was well enough to run...

Piper couldn't remember ever seeing Wolf change his mind about something once he was committed to it. He could actually be pretty stubborn, which she supposed he got from his parents since they were both incredibly... well... muleish. His behaviour lately had changed, though. He was clingy, desperate even, as if he was afraid she was going to keel over and die again. Since she still couldn't really quite grasp the fact that she'd died once already, she wasn't sure how to reassure him.

He might not have returned her "I love you", but he didn't need to say it. The way he frantically shook his head and urged her to leave with him said it a thousand times more powerfully than those three little words ever could have. She'd have gone anywhere with him, even though she was curious to know where he'd planned on taking her, but the gang was slowly grouping around them. Piper would have been happy to leave anyway but she wasn't the one who'd arranged to steal the boat. Landon and Wolf were a team and she could see in Wolf's eyes he was torn between protecting her and his loyalty to his friend.

"It's okay," she murmured, eyes solemn and her voice gentle. She was probably safer with the gang on this trip wherever than she would be alone at home or with Wolf. At the very least, Wolf would be safer. Smiling up at him as he started to get agitated, she put a hand on his arm, trying to tell him it didn't matter to her. As long as he was with her, it didn't matter if they were alone. Besides, the gang's antics might just be the distraction they both needed to move on from... from... the fact she'd died.

Too focused on Wolf to be aware of her surroundings, Piper gasped as Wolf moved around her suddenly, the sound of keys smacking his palm pulling her attention to the gang. Eyes widening when Wolf glared at his friend - a friend she'd never seen him glare at before unless they were playing around - she started to stammer something reassuring at him but he was already talking at Janx. Definitely at, not to, displaying the adorably bossy side of Wolf that usually only came out when they were alone. "Wolf, I'm okay, really, I can - " take care of myself. She couldn't seriously finish the sentence though, not and keep a straight face. She quite clearly couldn't take care of herself.

Standing there, staring up at her boyfriend as he told her to stay where she was, wondering how stop him from worrying about her, she nodded solemnly. She almost opened her mouth to tell him not to go but she knew he wouldn't listen to her. Even if he did, Landon and the others would probably convince him to go anyway. Stealing boats... Why couldn't they put so much energy and thinking into normal pastimes?

Kissing him back, trying to cling to him, Piper moaned as he thrust her away, reaching for him but missing. He could move fast when he wanted to and that kiss... That kiss would have brought her to her knees if she wasn't starting to panic. She started to follow him but stopped herself, chewing on her thumbnail as her other arm wrapped around her waist, moving back to Janx's side distractedly. She couldn't go after Wolf without the risk of giving him away and he was already out of sight.

Looking around at the other gang members, Piper tried to smile, only relaxing when she heard the sound of a motor churn to life and a yacht pull out. Following the directions Wolf had given her before they arrived, she headed toward an abandoned pier, her steps hurried and her boots thudding on the wood beneath her.

Spotting the yacht, and Wolf waiting, she kicked up her pace and dashed up the ramp into his arms as if they hadn't seen each other in months.

Sorry for the delay. I thought Janx was going to post first. *sheepish grin*

Janx silently followed the events as they happened. Landon and Katah arrived, Landon gave Wolf a set of keys and next thing he knew Wolf pushed Piper towards him warning him to take good care of her. Now Janx knew that Wolf had deep feelings for Piper but he hadn't seem him act this protective of her before. He knew what had happened in Piper's Boutique recently and could not blame Wolf for his attitude. If he loved someone so deeply and she'd been in such danger, he's probably act the same way. As he was thinking about asking Piper on how she'd been doing lately, Wolf already got the yacht going and weas waiting for them.

Piper dashed off towards the ramp and Janx followed her, looking around to see what was keeping Lyf, Landon and Katah. The others hadn''t arrived yet but he knew they couldn't wait forever for them. Walking up the ramp he looked around, then turned to Wolf. "Have you heard anything from the rest of the gang yet? I don't think it's wise to wait here too long. If someone sees up we'll be in a lot of trouble..." Looking out to the water and the clouds that were packing above it he pointed out "Besides, it seems the weather is not going to improve either so if we want to go to the Islands it should be now."

Not that he'd feel very comfortable on the trip if it would be just the few of them. Landon and Katah would probably have no attention for anyone but themselves, same would go for Wolf and Piper which meant it would leave just him and Lyf. Not that he really disliked Lyf but he couldn't say their relationship was deeply friendly either, it was platonic at the most. She could be nice, but had her quirks especially when it came to drinking and that was something Janx didn't really understand. Ah well, what did he know. Maybe it was because he didn't know Lyf that well yet, afterall she hadn't been part of the gang for that long. Maybe if he made an effort to get to know her better. Afterall he would always be a gentleman and give anyone the benefit of the doubt.

Lyf was getting annoyed. Sure, if they where caught it would seriously suck, but really? Why where they here? And why where they stealing a boat if they could rent one? Maybe it had something to do with Piper and Wolf...He'd been acting really protective of her lately. It was annoying frankly, what Piper saw in him she'd never know. He was a pretty good aquantice/friend when he wanted to be but that was about it. Shrugging, she followed the others. Seeing Wolf kiss Piper she rolled her eyes. "Get a room" she muttered under her breath.

She counted off everyone on her fingers and frowned, where was everyone? Meh. More space. She didn't really know the others well, I mean, she'd seen them and drank with them but that was it. Lets see.....Landon and Katah. Okay, two people she wouldn't see for the rest of trip, no doubt they'd be snogging in a cave somewhere. Piper and Wolf. Same thing. Perfect. That left her and Janx. Maybe she'd get to know him a little better.

Another thing Lyf had been thinking about lately was her alchohal obsession. She remembered attending some conferance on earth by accident and having to give back her bracelet that said she didn't drink. She still had her abstenince one though, thank god. She had thought about giving it to them...but didn't. After all, she assumed. Being for.....nevermind.

There was a reason Lyf drank. It was to forget something horrible.

Walking up to the dock she waited by the boat, waiting for everyone else to get it. She could pull of being lost while the others would draw attention. Fangs, wings. Well, Wolf wouldn't either but Wolf was with Piper. She didn't have anyone, and if she stayed behind it didn't matter. The emotions around her influenced her and more memorys came back, voices screaming in her head, one of them her own. Shivering, she tryed to cover up her body launguage of fear by rubbing her shoulders like she was cold. The sooner they left the better.

He came sauntering down towards the boat. Sauntering, that is, in as much as the climate -- "censored censored this censored weather" -- would allow. The sand was cold and -- "as censored usual" -- it got -- "censored" -- everywhere. The wind was unwelcome, as well. The water spray was on a level of welcomness more or less equalling both the sand and the wind. He couldn't quite see much, nor did he particularly care. There was a boat and someone standing next to it, he made for it.

The smell wasn't as bad as it had been earlier away from the wind. That was the good thing about the wind. The not as good thing was that the water and sand would in all likelihood smell distastefully -- "like censored censored" -- shortly after retreating out of the wind.

Despite the -- "censored" -- weather, the boats and docks seemed very peacefull. They were definitely in their element. He shook his head. 'Well no censored.' He hoped to Xanth this would be worth it.

He walked up on the wooden boards of the dock not expecting to still be unrelentingly intruded upon and violated by sand. 'Fan-censored-tastic.'

He walked the last few paces to where Lyf was standing. Jag was not in an ideal mood, and not in his zone, nor did he have his bubble of irritatingly imposing self-confidence. He was radiating misery and would like most people to realize the unfairness of his misery and preferably experience some of it as well, just to be on the safe side. He glanced at Lyf as he turned up on the gangplank, "Hope you're censored overjoyed to see me."

Speak to me, when all you got to keep is strong
Move along, move along like I know you do
And even when your hope is gone
Move along, move along just to make it through
Move along
Move along

Lyf watched as Jag sauntered down the doc. Like a female. She was so going to make fun of him for this later. Damn! She was getting blackmail left and right! He was annoyed, and she could tell becasue being around him made her annoyed. Sniggering when he got ot the sand, she watched, this was better then T.V! Finally he reached her. His brown was longer then the last time she had seen him, whitch led her to wonder how long she hadn't been paying attention to those things. His hair still looked like a porcupine doing a backflip, and his eyes where still an Emrald Haze. Wondering where the hell his girlfriend was, she was going to ask said question when he interrupted sounding PO'd.

"Hope you're censored overjoyed to see me." Jag said.

"Of course!" she said, oh too sarcasticly. "I waited here twiddling my fingers, just hoping that you would come." the words flowed off her tounge like a swirling river. She was upset enough having her past reminded to her but his sarcasum was not appreciated. Plus the damn dragon ability's where driving her FRIKIN INSANE! Now she knew what being pecked to death by a chicken felt like. "And now that your here, oh great one, get your censored on the boat." looking into the mist she muttered something unintelligable and waited for a sarcastic remark back.

If you knew her, then you could tell that when she was argueing with Jag for fun, you knew that watching pain dry came in a close second. Could this get any more boring?

Janx looked down from the railing of the boat to the gangplank where Lyf and now Jag were "Come on you two, get on board. I doubt the others will come so let's go. And yes Jag, as always it's a pleasure to see you." he smirked at the demon. They shared a house and he regarded Jag a friend, but sometimes he could be such a sob. As Lyf and Jag came aboard, followed by Landon and Katah it seemed they were finally set to go.

Quickly counting in his mind he concluded that they now had 7 people, which was more then enough in his personal opinion. Walking to the controls of the boat he gestured to Wolf. "Ready to start up?". Walking to the aft to get a hold of the dock line himself ready to loosen it whenever Wolf would start the engine, he called to the others "If one of you could get the dock line at the front?"

Boating seemed like a good idea, but all these preparations were taking to much censored time. For one the risk of getting caught grew bigger with each minute as he'd already noticed some questionable looks from other people at the docks, and secondly it seemed the weather was still deteriorating which would not make it any easier to get the boat to Ceracen Islands.

(OOC: It's been over 3 days so I'm godmodding the remaining people on board the boat)

Soothed some by the surprisingly warm -- albeit quite ironic -- welcome aboard the boat, Jag sat down toward the back of the boat. He stretched his legs and rested his arms along the backrest. He looked toward the back of the boat where Janx was loosening the rope.

"If one of you could get the dock line at the front?"

Jag looked toward the front of the boat to where no one was reacting to Janx's request. With some vulgarity word disguised as a grunt, Jag got up and walked over to the front thinking,'this is gonna be a censored blast' -- meaning the escapade, not the loosening of the line. At the prow he threw the line onto the dock and walked back to his seat.

(OOC: It's been a long time, but I hope this is the right place to post.)
