It looked like it was going to be a decent landing for once! Not long after Inimicus had left to return to the statue did an Anyeli turn a corner in mid flight down the street outside of the pub. Wearing a winter mail hat with a pair of goggles and a scarf, she had on a blue mail lady uniform and a satchel at her side as strands of her platinum blonde hair poked out through the edges of the hat. She seemed big for her race, and it was obvious that she hadn't been flying that long. While in midair, getting ready to brace her feet for a landing, she made an unexpected dip and both of her knees crashed into a bench as she went tumbling head over heels down the street in front of the pub.

"Owwwwwww!"

That one hurt worse than the last one, as this one actually banged her knees instead of a slight scrape. Pushing up from her landing spot, there was a rip in her pants where she hit her knees, not to mention little rips and tears on the arms when she fell the first time.

"O... Oh dear. I guess I need full concentration while flying."

Standing up, she limped in the direction of the Hind and started looking for a group who was out to help the Archangel.

Piper's blush deepened as she heard Scarlett giggle but she couldn't help smiling back. She'd kind of gotten used to being clumsy, it was part of who she was although thankfully it was usually only when she was stressed and too busy thinking about other, more important things to worry about where her feet were, but she'd found it was also an odd icebreaker too. At least it had broken the tension between Piper and Scarlett, even if that tension was all in Piper's head. Well, of course she was tense around the other woman. Not only was Scarlett Piper's queen, someone she was directly accountable to and that she was unused to - the closest people on Earth ever got to that kind of leader were the police and even then, it was completely different. But on top of that, Piper'd hurt Scarlett's brother and while it hadn't been deliberate it was something she almost expected to get yelled at for. Although, if that kind of confrontation was going to happen at all, it was probably long overdue.

As the other vampire followed them into the pub, Piper leaned down to unclip her pets' leads, watching with a grin as they disappeared under 'their' table.

"Is this it?"

Well, no. There'd been more people at the bench and she was hoping they'd turn up here to help but it did seem a bit pathetic. Two people, four if they counted herself and Wolf. Piper didn't know nearly as much as Wolf about how dangerous or difficult this mission was going to be but she suspected it was going to be tough. "I'm sorry," she murmured, wondering if she could have been more persuasive. Suka'd hurt people, including her, and those others didn't have the benefit of seeing him change. Didn't have the benefit of being connected to the very people who'd been the cause. Where she'd found out everything she needed to be able to get over it and forgive him, the others hadn't. She couldn't blame them if they didn't want to help him.

She watched him move around, slowly crossing the distance between them, still concerned about him. She didn't want to get too close in case her thoughts started hurting him but then, she realised, it was a little late for that. And the look on his face worried her far more than his errant powers. He looked... he looked like he'd seen a ghost. Staring at her as if he'd just discovered something about her that he didn't like or wasn't sure about. The way he was staring made her uncomfortable but for the life of her she couldn't imagine why he was looking at her like that. She'd been as forthcoming as she could be with him, although... Okay so she'd kind of been vague about Kuma, and she hadn't told him much about Tom, and oh yeah... She'd not told him about Suka either. Seeing how much he loved his 'uncle', she'd kept that quiet, trying to deal with it on her own, terrified he'd find out and do something stupid or blame her for it, or take Suka's side.

She swallowed nervously, reaching his side slowly and tilting her head to look up at him quizzically. "Are you okay?" She reached out to touch his arm but he jerked back and sank onto the stool, his shoulders slumping a little. Eyes widening with alarm, she darted forward to feel his forehead, worried he'd taken too much - or not enough - of his medicine. He was running a little hot but it could be worse... what concerned her more was the way he was staring at her still. It wasn't the nice stare.

"Yes we do need more people, but it is not her fault we do not have them she had quite a crowd gathered at the statue, I do no know why they are not here but let me go see, you 3 rest here and I will go wait at the statue, when more people arrive here just send someone to get me, I don't mind the cold but I do want to be involved and should like to be here when you tell us what we need to do. I will go hurry the people up now then."

Piper struggled to look away from her boyfriend, her gaze trapped by his, feeling like she was going to drown in those big blues. By the time she'd managed to drag her gaze away and look at Inimicus, he'd already decided to go get more help and she smiled her thanks. It was worth the effort, at least. Maybe Piper hadn't tried hard enough.

Refusing to look Wolf in the eyes again, Piper glanced at Scarlett, then at Inimicus as he left, then at the bar, then at a dirty glass on a nearby table. She was so tempted to just start blabbering like an idiot, spilling all her secrets just so Wolf would stop looking at her like she was hiding something, but this was no time to worry about her own dramas. "So wh... what's the plan?"

"Sorry I'm late!"

The panicky shout was accompanied by a yelp and a loud thud against the floor, all three sounds belonged to a short oriental-looking girl who was busy rubbing her head as she sat on the floor. Dressed in a white tank-top and blue jeans with white sneakers, she had a tomboy look about her, but that was ruined by the oh so cute headrub with one eye closed.

"Itai..."

She had been talking with Lyf when the group moved to the Hind's Head and the next thing she knew, she and Lyf were alone in front of the statue. Quickly bolting after the group, determined to help, she followed a clumsy any...anye...anyela...anyeli...wait, yes! Anyeli! She had missed the spectecular fall, but as she sprinted into the pub, one of her feet got caught by the raised doorframe and well...she made up for missing the other crash.

Looking up at the others in the pub, she grinned and nodded, "Hi there...I wanna help."

Making her way to the pub, she was limping a little less as the initial pain in her knee wasn't so bad. She lowered her wings slightly to make it through the door as she removed her goggles and tried to look around for the group that the man on the horse mentioned. Taking off her snow hat and letting her medium plantinum blond hair with purple streaks fall past her face, she sighed and slightly limped.

"Uhm... hello? Is there a group of heroes here? I heard there was a kidnapping."

She didn't look like much with her mail delivery uniform on, but she had size. That and she kept getting up from her crashes, so she she had some toughness in her. Her face winced as she walked further into the pub in a stiff manner. She silently hoped that she didn't injure her arm again.

"My name is Ceilia... and I will have to buy some armor and weapons before we go."

Zephyr smiled softly as Daoine kissed him, but his smile quickly faded as he heard her explain the situation. Suka, the damned censored, had let his sister be kidnapped? Figures. The guy didn't seem like the responsible or guardian type. More like the faking back-stabber type. Zephyr wouldn't be surprised if the man had helped with the kidnapping, especially not if he'd been paid. Shaking his head at the thought, Zephyr sighed as he relented o his girlfriend.

"Fine, I'll go, but only for you and the girl, not for Suka." Zphyr said as he began to walk forward. Soon after the dragon whipped his head around as a horse darted by him and it's rider began preaching to the group. Spotting fangs inside the arrogant man's mouth, Zephyr grimaced. The unknown man was lucky Daoine was there, otherwise the warrior would have taught him a thing or two about life. Scowling, Zephyr turned and walked with Daoine into the hinds head bar to find out exactly what was going on, sadly missing the brutal kick the condescending vampire received.

Entering the warm building, Zephyr felt his numb appendages elate at the feeling of heat rushing over his body. Making sure to keep close to Daoine - so close he practically had his arms wrapped entirely around her - Zephyr eyed each person in the bar, evaluating their usefulness. Two vampires, one of them the screamer from the quadrangle, an anyeli, a... well, whatever she was she didn't have wings and didn't seem vampiric, perhaps all hope was not lost. Then he saw the screamer's boyfriend, the man who'd clobbered him for no reason back in the hospital.

Feeling anger toss inside of him, Zephyr glared into the depths of "Wolf's" soul with utter contempt and a glare that would hopefully at least cause the boy's skin to crawl - if not entirely petrify him. Zephyr didn't like anyone in this lot, and he was not going to trust them in battle. Though he would definitely need assitance and - despite Daoine's skill - he did not want to endanger his only true friend. He'd likely resort to callin Slythe, and hopefully this time is price wasn't quite as hefty as before.

Scarlett had propped herself against the bar, wondering how long it'd be before everybody that had gathered in the quadrangle would reach the pub. As Inimicius volunteered to go and collect them Scarlett felt her lip curl slightly, that vampire was one of the most arrogant people she'd had the displeasure of meeting. Who was he to think that people would pay attention to him over Piper, or even her. Still, before Scarlett even had time to voice her disgust at his arrogance he had already left the bar.

Now that the main source of her dislike had left the building, Scarlett looked up at the male who had entered moments before. His eyes, strikingly blue, seemed to be focused entirely on Piper, and Scarlett wondered exactly who he was. Granted, she'd not spoken to Piper for months now, but Scarlett was unaware of how Piper and Tom had broken up, and she wondered if Piper could have moved on so quickly, especially when Scarlett remembered how much her brother had cared for the vampire. Sighing, Scarlett realised that as much as she might want answers - both regarding Tom, and how things with Piper were, now was not the time, especially as her trail of thought was punctuated by more people entering the pub.

Scarlett remained where she was, but even her interest was stirred when one girl fell straight over the doorframe and into the pub, offering her help as she fell. Scarlett refrained from rolling her eyes - deep down she knew that the more help the better, but she failed to see how somebody who tripped over their own feet could be of much help in finding Suka's sister. As Scarlett eyed the girl, another walked in behind her, clearly an anyeli, dressed in a mailers uniform. "Interesting.." Scarlett thought, realising how conspicous this group was going to be. Scarlett motioned to turn towards Wolf and Piper - after all, they seemed the most likely to have some idea of what was going on, as a tall man, who from his height and eyes could only be a dragon, entered. Scarlett noticed the looking over he had given her and Piper, and she felt herself wondering if he had a problem with vampires. Pushing the thought out of her mind, Scarlett adjusted her position slightly, facing Piper and Wolf.

"Do we have enough people yet?" She asked, half hoping the group could leave the pub before the arrogant Inimicus returned.

Naava smiled wryly as Dracos' skin only remained warm and didn't superheat as her tongue pressed against his skin gently. Suddenly Naava felt her heart race as Dracos flipped around and over powered her - pushing her arms down so that she could not defend herself. Damned demon, if he took advantage of this situation Naava would most definitely get him back for it later, she had quite a talent for vengeance. Suddenly Naava's misgivings came to fruition as the devious man grinned and kissed Naava who, of course, kissed him back as she was not one to pass up on an opportunity to receive gratification of any form.

Pouting as he pulled back, Naava couldn't decide whether to hate him for taking advantage of her as she so desired to do to him, or to pursue this stint of passion further - regardless the domain. Shrieking slightly as he jerked her forward through the snow towards the bar. "Weapon!? I haven't had a chance to steal... er... acquire any knew ones yet!" Naava said as she stumbled slightly - not used to being guided anywhere, at least not anywhere where she was having to walk - or wear heels either. Shuddering slightly at some rather dark memories of things she'd had to do in her past to survive, Naava pretended she was just cold and scurried forward with Dracos into the building.

Once again donning her superior attitude, Naava atempted to remove her wrist from Dracos' grasp as she heard the vampire queen's statement. "You couldn't possibly think of having any fun without us, could you?" Naava said, acting as if she was someone important. "After all, everyone knows it's not a real fight without a Makani in the mix." Naava said with a slick and mischievous smile as she stressed her last name and wondered if anyone would put 'two and two together' to figure out her relation to the prissy little aide.

:shifty:

Daoine walked to the pub and inside together with Zephyr. He hovered around her constantly, acting protective ... extremely protective even. She sensed he was not at ease, both anger and insecurity were very obvious. Then again, scanning the others in the pub quickly she received a lot of mixed emotions. There were quite a bunch of people now and Daoine blocked most of the feelings out to be able to keep her sanity. Although she wouldn't be bowled over anymore like she used to when she was a fledgling because she could filter things much more efficiently now, it was still good to be able to block people now and then. Just so she could keep her own head clear.

Daoine flashed a few friendly smiles left and right to people she knew. Most of them had been in the café before. Dae loved that so much, the social contacts she made with others thanks to having her establishment.

Turning back her attention to Zephyr again she looked up at his face and pinched his hand in encouragement. "Don't worry so much, my love. It will all be fine. You remember how it was when we fought the Khimairas and even longer ago when we were at the church in Derby? People, species, unite in times like this. Give it a chance." She knew very well that Zeph had not had good experiences lately with several people. But she had managed to find the loving and caring guy behind that fierce mask, and would love to share that with the world. She realized that was a bit much to ask, but at least she hoped he would get himself to be at least a little more openminded to others.

Somewhere she just caught the word Makani and Dae looked around wondering. Wasn't that the last name of Dora, Xanth's aide? The aide was nowhere to be seen though. So Dae shrugged her shoulders and turned her attention to Piper and Wolf to wait for further instructions.

Sacha had been watching just outside the quadrangle. His presence was never far from that of Zephyr, but lately, he'd been giving more room than he probably should. It wasn't for the dragons sake. Xanth knew Sacha could care less how the brute felt. No, it was for Sacha's. He was getting tired of following the lug to and fro. All he ever seemed to do was work in his shop, or come home. Not much excitment. Not like Nymphadora. At least the Nymph flew places. Sacha's wings were aching to be stretched. They were stiff from sitting in one place for so long. They felt like they would fall right off his shoulders. Exaggeration or not, the feline in him was unhappy. The two legged was downright boring. As was his female companion.

Watching the scene before him, cautious of the angered horse, Sacha watched with widened eyes as it trampled off, leaving its owner to rest upon his rear. The itch to chase the thing crawled along his spine, but the winged cheetah knew better. Imagine the scolding he'd get from Nymphadora if he made a meal out of pet horse. Turning his attention back to Zephyr, Sacha snorted as he saw the man moving away from the clearing. Getting to his paws, Sacha followed slowly, leisurely.

Making his was toward a building, the cheetah paused. The last time he'd been inside a building in the underground market, he'd gotten into trouble. Flattening his ears at the memory, he slowly moved forward, pushing against the door until it opened enough for his small frame to pass through. Inhaling Zephyrs scent, Sacha edged forward, taking his place beside the brute. Sitting upright, his tail twitching behind him, the feline stared out into the crowd, no particular emotion on his face. He didn't know what the gathering was about, nor did he care. He was just here to do his job. Lucky for Zephyr.

As Salem stood up to dust herself off she saw that Daoine had come along with Zephyr. Tilting her head in curiosity, she grinned back at the dragon that took care of her in her first disaster and added a small friendly wave. She then looked at Zephyr, her eyes reflecting even more curiosity than she felt before, wondering why he had been looking around in obvious distaste. Sniffing at the air, she caught something very familiar, her instincts equated it with danger and urged her to flee. That changed however, when she caught a movement towards the door and saw the cheetah with wings.

This was probably a bad idea, but while they were waiting for something to happen, she inched closer to the creature. Yes, she remembered being injured by the cheetah, but she also believed that it was her fault that she got so injured, if she had not over-reacted...

Getting close enough that she did not invade his private space, she gave the cheetah a small bow and whispered loud enough that he would hear what she had to say. This apology was for him only, she knew just how sensitive feline ears were.

"Umm...about the whole thing at the cafe...I'm...I'm sorry if I got you in trouble," her voice was full of guilt. "I should have never gotten involved. Can you...forgive me?"

Her first shift into her feline form just showed how much pride cats had and knowing that the pride she felt was tempered by her human side only made her feel worse about the incident at the cafe.

The thought of Piper and Suka was bugging Wolf a bit more than he would have liked to admit. What had happened between them, it was vague. Snippets of memory, nothing solid. And when only knowing half the truth, it was hard not to begin to assume. His uncle was in trouble, and slowly the room began to fill with people the man must have recruited. But even with so many possibly distractions, Wolf's eyes remained on his girlfriend, watching her react to him in ways he'd not really paid any mind before. The way she avoided his eyes. It was like she was hiding something. Taking a step he never should take with loved ones, Wolf reached into Pipers mind, only to come up empty. With the situation at hand, it was clear she wasn't thinking about what had happened in the past. Although if he'd have searched only moments before, he would have come up with much much more.

Hearing her question, Wolf slowly pulled his eyes from her, lifting them to take in those that had arrived. Some he knew, some he didn't. In the end, it didn't matter. What was interesting, and perhaps helpful, was the fact that Sacha had arrived. He'd heard from his father about what had happened the last time the feline was in the underground, and how Kade had been forced to ban him. Having him here now... Nymphadora couldn't be far behind.

Furrowing his brow, Wolf got up from the chair, clicking his tongue to get the cheetah's attention. Watching as the familiar gazed at the girl next to him absentmindedly, then turn his attention toward Wolf, he motioned for Sacha to come. After the beast looked to Zephyr, he slowly made his way to Wolf, almost reluctantly. Lowering himself to eye level, Wolf braced his elbows on his knees. "Is Dora here?" He asked quietly. Getting nothing but a blink from the cheetah, Wolf scoffed, dismissing him. "Lot of help you are. You giant hairball." He teased, scowling. Watching as Sacha snorted, then walked back to Zephyr unfased, Wolf couldn't help but narrow his eyes at the dragon the cat was taking a shine to. Why was Sacha even with him anyway?

Clenching his jaw, he turned back to Piper, gazing into her eyes. Well... staring as if she knew the answer actually. Hell, she probably hadn't even have heard what he'd asked. Folding his arms across his chest, still looking into Pipers eyes as he thought, Wolf finally let out a sigh, turning to look at the large crowd that was begining to gather. Looking back to Piper, he began to speak softly. "I know where to go. Earth." Looking at her, past memories hit him like a blow to the head. Furrowing his brow, he dropped his hands to his side, staring at her yet again, this time with annoyance. "Wait... you're not going. No way. I just got you back. You... stay here. Sacha can watch you." Turning to look at Sacha, he called for the hairball. "Sacha!" He vowed to protect Piper. He had to help his uncle, but Piper didn't need to be in danger like that. Not now, not so soon.

Inimicus had waited a bit at the statue, everyone he could see who had been there, had left presumably to go to the bar. The incident with the horse really wasn't a good start but there was nothing he could do about the CLydesdaly right now, Inimicus was fast and strong, especially so of late, but he could not run down a horse he knew that. He would have to go collect the beast later, he knew his whistle and if he wanted to come back he would. Slowly he stood, he rotated his left arm the shoulder giving an annoying twinge, damn horse, that wasn't going to be good on his shield arm, he couldnt take strong blows from it now. Growling he wandered back towards the bar, the cold air delightfully biting into him, he had always loved the cold. Reaching the hinds head he pushed against the door just in time to hear the words from Wolf's mouth, so they were going to Earth, great, he just LOVED going back there it was not like there were bad memories or anything, well such was life and someone needed help he wasnt about to let his own fears keep him away. He spoke in a rich tenor which was very obviously framed by a hint of annoyance as he continud to rotate his left shoulder hoping to fix the proble, caused by the horse's hoof.

" Everyone who Piper got to the statue is now here, as I figured I was unable to gather anymore people, I am not as good an orator as Piper is "

With that Inimicus leaned against the back wall of the shop massaging his left shoulder with his right hand.

"E... earth?" Ceilia stammered.

"I'm really going to have to get armor and weapons for this quest. Uhm... how are we going to find clothes that 'blend in'? "

She wasn't panicking, but there was a deep worry about how the heck she was going to pull off going to earth where people had no wings. She knew so little about the place and she knew from training that she wasn't supposed to go there. She had no clue how they dressed or anything. Looking at her mail delivery uniform, she'd have to tell work that she would be on a quest or something and wouldn't be able to deliver for awhile. Sighing, she saw the warrior who called her in arrive at the tavern. She walked with a limp as she hobbled closer to the group to listen in on what other plans they might have ready for this important mission.

As more and more people entered the pub, Piper couldn't help but feel overwhelmed. Still refusing to look at Wolf, afraid that if she did she'd start spilling all her secrets and never stop, she plucked at the hem of her top and grew increasingly ashamed that she hadn't been able to bring in these kind of numbers herself. Maybe she really hadn't tried hard enough and got caught up in worrying if her fear of Suka had affected her judgement. Except... she'd thought she'd gotten over that, she'd been willing to try to make friends with him, and now she wasn't sure what was going on. She'd seen him change and couldn't help but wonder if that didn't mean he wasn't about to start beating people up again. Maybe that had put uncertainty in her voice when she asked people for their help, or maybe she just wasn't the kind of person who could stir sympathy in others.

Either way, that vampire guy was doing a way better job of recruiting people who could help than she had, and she felt like she'd failed her boyfriend and his uncle. Just one more reason not to look at him.

Someone tripped into the pub and Piper glanced up, smiling faintly despite herself. She'd done pretty much the same thing and sympathised with the girl. She'd followed another girl, an Anyeli, who seemed just as clumsy and Piper wondered briefly if they'd be of any help at all. Then she thought of how she herself was clumsy until she actually had something to focus on, how having a task to concentrate on somehow cured her klutziness, and figured maybe they were the same. Who was she to judge anyway? If they were willing to help, the more the merrier. Although she couldn't help but wish they had some more fighter types handy.

Almost as if she'd wished him into the pub, that big tank of a guy who'd saved her from Kaida walked in with the Cafe's owner and Piper's eyes widened briefly. Okay, so she hadn't known about the two of them, and why the heck was Dora's cat following them? Wait, if Sacha were here, that must mean Dora was close behind!

Bursting with excitement at the thought of an Aide being able to help, Piper straightened and started to grin, the smile freezing on her face as several things hit her at once. Wolf had said that if the law found out about Suka going Rambo he could lose his position as Archangel, and while Piper figured his job was worth way less than his life she could understand the reluctance to get the Aides involved. And, oh yeah, Wolf had punched the tank the last time they were in the same room together and by the look on Zephyr's face, he was about to return the favour.

Gulping a little, Piper started to surreptitiously edged between them even though Zephyr was clear across the room, trying not to make it obvious. The Dragon could clearly squash both she and Wolf easily but maybe he'd think twice about hitting her boyfriend if there was a girl in his path.

"Do we have enough people yet?"

Smiling at Scarlett, nervousness completely forgotten amid all the other issues, Piper opened her mouth to answer when the door opened again to admit a demon and an angel. Piper blinked at the sight of them, wondering if they realised just how... how... ridiculously cliched they looked together. An angel and a demon? It was like they'd walked right out of some kind of biblical myth.

At least, it did until the Anyelos opened her mouth. "You couldn't possibly think of having any fun without us, could you? After all, everyone knows it's not a real fight without a Makani in the mix."

Fun? She thought this was fun?

Piper blinked again, feeling stupider by the second, as she fought not to yell at the girl. First of all, this was about life and death and freedom and all that good stuff. Rescuing a poor innocent girl who was probably being tortured while they ummed and ahhed. And second of all... Wait, Makani? Wasn't that Dora's surname?

Frowning in confusion, Piper tipped her head inquisitively. That mischievous grin made her wonder if there was something going on behind that pretty face. She could probably forgive the whole fun thing because some people just enjoyed danger - like Wolf's mom - but dropping an Aide's name into the conversation just smacked of... She didn't even know. It just seemed wrong somehow.

Tempted to ask if she was related to Dora, Piper glanced around. She wanted to be in too many places all at once again, and was getting mixed up by it all. Trying to put herself between Wolf and the tank like a human shield, trying not to be rude to any of them, trying to figure out why the Anyelos was grinning like that...

And then she realised she wasn't doing such a great job because she hadn't actually answered Scarlett or any of their questions after all, but any concerns she had about being rude flew right out of her head when Wolf mentioned Earth.

Why was Earth involved in this? As far as she knew, Elysians tried to keep their existence a secret from Earth. They wouldn't set up shop there, surely? Not unless... Oh. Oh God. Not unless it was actually... humans... who were responsible for this whole thing!

"Wait... you're not going. No way. I just got you back. You... stay here. Sacha can watch you."

Piper's jaw dropped. She... He was... he was what? Since when did Wolf become the alpha male, rar rar, caveman Neanderthal telling her what she could and couldn't do? Was he going to start beating his chest and drag her off by the hair next?

Blinking at him, completely dumbfounded, she formed several responses in her head and dismissed them all as the vampire returned. Dimly aware that he was complimented her and that she didn't deserve it, she wanted to blush and tell him, aw shucks, she didn't do anything, but she was too busy gaping at her boyfriend.

"Wh..." That about summed it up.

She wanted to be furious at him. She really did. Visions of Dazadi and Arkadios's arguments flashed in her head as they fought for the title of Pantswearer. Dazadi was too stubborn to let Arkadios walk all over her and he was too much the protector to let her wander into battle without at least trying to keep her safe, but Wolf had never shown signs of walking in his dad's shoes before. Unfortunately, Piper wasn't nearly as strong as Dazadi so if he really started to insist she'd probably cave in. Besides, she could understand where he was coming from. She'd died. She'd made him cry. She couldn't be mad at him for wanting her safe.

But he'd pushed her buttons too. Piper didn't like taking orders from anyone. In fact, she'd gotten into lots of trouble as a kid when her mom forbade her from doing stuff, because that just made her go out and actually do it.

Any thought she had about being too scared to help zipped right out of her head. "I'm going," she finally replied in her best "and that's final" voice. And turned away, her brain starting to register everything that had been said while she stood there like a gaping idiot.

"Weapons! Right, good idea. Erm." Uncomfortable with taking charge, she almost turned back to Wolf to nudge him into the limelight but she was tryng to be all strong and macho. If macho could even be applied to a woman. "You, ah, I'm sorry, I don't know your name." Pointing at the Anyelos in the uniform, she smiled slightly, trying to be nice. "Would you nip over to the smithy and ask him to... Oh." Wait. The smithy was here. Right. Zephyr. The tank who seemed to want to take a few pounds of Wolf-flesh.

Turning smartly, she pointed at the Dragon, wondering where the hell she'd found the nerve to get bossy. "We need weapons for anyone who doesn't have them already. And armour, I guess. A bunch of swords, or clubs maybe, or something easy to wield because, well, I don't know how many of us know which end is the sharp and pointy. I'll, um, I'll pay you. Somehow." She glanced at the crowd, wondering how many of them knew how to fight. 'Sharp and pointy' was simplifying things but back on Earth, the ratio of people who knew how to defend themselves was pretty low. Elysia's was probably higher - walking down the street, she'd encounter way more people packing a blade or two - but that didn't mean they were all in this room.

"And, um..." And that's where her bravado ran out. "Earth..." Glancing at Wolf despite all her attempts not to, she shrugged lamely. "Let's go?" They'd pass the smithy on the way to the portal. At least, she thought they would. It'd be nice to let everyone go home for a change in clothes because it looked like half of them would attract attention but it wasn't like they could exactly sneak around anyway. This many people, they were going to make waves. She just hoped this place was isolated someplace, because they didn't really have time to mess around.

Looking up sharply as Wolf mentioned Earth, Salem's eyes widened as it hit her. She could be going back home a lot sooner than she had thought.

Home...

The thoughts filled her head with a giddy sense of euphoria, she could finally go to the place where she felt safe...her thoughts stopped there as she remembered the reason why she was here in the first place. Someone needed help and that was why she was here. The problem was that, she still had dreams of her home-coming, of hugging her mother and father as they made up for all those times, meeting up with her crew and hanging out at their usual spot. She had a strangely distracted look on her face as she sank deeper and deeper into her fantasies, her inner cat helped as the imaginary luxuries grew more gaudy. She looked like she was staring at something only she could see and her lips curled upward in an extremely faint smile.

There was no way anyone would stop her from going home, even if she had to act nice to get there.

Tuning in to the conversation between the others, Salem could have laughed as one of them gave her an opening, a rather silly one at that. Stepping forward to join them, she nodded, "Don't worry, I know which side is sharp and pointy..." She looked at Zephyr with a small grin, "I hope I didn't disturb anything when I first placed my order..."

Inimicus looks around at the assembled party, these weren't fighters, only a few of them were, they were random people banding together. Their hearts were in this and that made him happy, but this was going to be a fiasco if someone didn't step up and lead strongly, Piper cared a lot, and seemed like she could be strong, but it kept faltering under the stare of that "Wolf", someone needed to lead and it wasn't going to be him, he couldnt he didnt know where they were going. As she mentioned gathering weapons Inimicus lowered his hand from his shoulder and unstrapped the belt around his waist, it had two black leather sheathes on it with small swords.

" I have two small swords here for people who need them, all I need is a long sword from the smithy and I will be all set, anyone who wants these they are on the table "

Inimicus threw his swords down on a table the heavy iron making a loud clunk even through the sheath, he felt naked without at least some weapon, but he had Xanth's shield which was glimmering on his back and that made him feel safe. He looked at the crowd, not warriors, but they were going to try. He didn't like the idea of going to Earth, he hoped no one would recognize him he hadn't been home since the murders and if he showed up suspicion would be on him, this was not good but what could he do someone needed help. As piper spoke he bowed to her as a sign of respect, in his opinion however weak she was the leader here.

" I will follow you Piper "

"Ceilia... Ceilia Majir. I have a couple of questions I need to ask of the Archangel anyway..."

Looking to Imminicus, she examined the swords of good quality, but recalled her training as she bit her lip. Swords were not really her forte'. Recalling how they almost always disarmed her during practice, she decided to respectfully decline, but would not insult his generosity.

"I will take one as back up, good sir. I'm... not very good with swords, but I'll do my finest!"

She would change out of her uniform at the Smithy. Good thing she brought her change of clothes in her satchel... which... got filled with snow. Looking at the blades, she picked one up and checked the weight to see if it was for her. She was a novice, and this warrior looked like he had been through a few scuffles. Ceilia sighed, not sure how well she would handle this mission, but the Archangel was involved. She had no idea how much the armor would cost or anything, but if the person with the smithy was here, then perhaps he would know best about what she needed.

"Uhm... whatever you think is good for a novice. I'm better with my fists than I am a sword."

Scarlett stood up straight as Piper spoke, glad that somebody was going to organise the assorted motley crew assembled in the pub. She raised an eyebrow as Inimicus offered his weapons for whomever wanted them. "You won't catch me offering my weapons to just anybody," she thought, realising that she was selfish for not wanting to share but not caring. As far as she was concerned they were her weapons, and anybody else in this room was just as capable of going to the blacksmiths and purchasing their own. Withdrawing one of her daggers, Scarlett skillfully spun it once around her palm.

"I'm all set for weapons - and, I know how to use them."

Scarlett looked around at the others wondering how many of them would be of use in this quest to help Suka. She herself knew that appearances could be deceptive, after all, despite her skirts and elegant clothing, she was willing to get down and dirty with the best of them. Withdrawing the dagger from public view, Scarlett placed it back in its usual spot. A smile spread across her face as she did so, the almost forgotten surge of adrenalin racing through her body, making her tingle from head to foot. She hadn't felt this way since her first encounters with Suka, and it seemed ironic, that after all that time, going to help him was another fuel for her and the excitement she so desperately craved.

I'm going.

Blinking, his brow furrowing as she bluntly declared her intentions, Wolf stood, staring at her in disbelief. She'd never outright... stood up to him before. Well... she had. But not about something he felt so strongly against. She'd just censored died. And she thinks he was going to let her jump into battle, and possibly die all over again? She was censored insane! Not only had she said it, she'd turned her back on him as well, not even giving him a chance to confront her. Just as he was about to get into it big, and cause a scene for all around him to hear, the room suddenly exploded with noise. Verbal from Piper, and a few vocalizations from the others, but mental. Everyone was thinking, and thinking loudly. From the most mundane as thinking of home, to outright challenging Wolf's pride, the dragon sunk back, lifting his hand to his head once again.

Too many people meant trouble. He couldn't hide from the thoughts. He could tune them down to a low whisper, yes, but after having had his mind explode from earlier, he couldn't focus hard enough to do so without feeling every vein in his brain pulse with anger. Piper distracting him as well wasn't helping. Whats interesting, if you could call it that, was how to Wolf, the room sounded like a busy train, everyone speaking at once, everyone making their voice loud, just to talk over the person sitting next to him. When in reality, most everyone was calm, collect, and asking for instructions, as well as giving vital information.

Just as Piper was concluding her leadership, glancing back to Wolf for what seemed like guidance, he'd had enough. Everyone was screaming in his ears, and he needed to speak with Piper. Picking up the stool before him, the others blissfully unaware as they spoke of weapons, Wolf belted, slamming the wooden stool into the wall of liquor behind him, smashing glass, causing a miniature flood of alcohol to wash pas his feet, splattering over half his clothing. "ENOUGH!" He yelled, letting the chair fall to the floor with a clang.

Looking up at Piper, anger in his eyes, as well as desperation, Wolf clicked his fingers at Sacha, allowing his brain to surge with pain as he blocked off all thoughts that came after his outburst. "Sacha, come!" He demanded of the cat. Sacha had a mind of his own, but Wolf had grown around him, and knew how 'precious' he was to Nymphadora. The cheetah followed hesitantly, his fur standing on end slightly from the noise.

Moving the step he needed, Wolf grabbed Piper roughly by the wrist, and drug her into the back room. Slamming the swinging door open, nearly avoiding it coming back to hit both himself and Piper, Sacha was lucky enough to miss the swing, his quick footedness allowing him to bounce back before entering as it swung in the opposite direction. Dragging Piper into the room, Wolf spun her, letting her stumble into the center of the room freely. This anger... he'd had it before with his mother... and nearly killed her. The rage within, only dormant until backed into a corner, was doubled with the reality that Piper was knowingly endangering herself even thought Wolf asked her not to.

Staring at her in the eyes, allowing her thoughts and her thoughts alone reach his mind, his headache raged like never before. The numbness of his emotions the only reason he didn't pass out. Or perhaps the medicine was finally kicking in. "You are not going. You will not be hurt, while knowing I could have prevented it." Was he talking about the quest? Or... the past? Moving forward, he took hold of her shoulders, shaking her almost violently. "You died Piper. Don't you get that? You censored died! So soon you are willing to risk it all again. To leave me? I held your dead body! I held your lifeless bleeding body in my arms. I refuse to do that again. I don't care if you hate me for it."

Not allowing her the chance to refuse, Wolf looked to Sacha. "Don't let her leave. So help me Sacha..." He warned, his jaw clenched as he brushed past the cat and into the bar. Looking up to the others, not realizing his face was stained with tears, he lowered his gaze to the ground. "Get weapons if you need them. Meet at the portal in 10 minutes." He instructed, pushing past the crowd and walking out the front door.

Piper almost expected Wolf to react badly. No matter how much he fought with his dad he was still Arkadios's son and every so often bits of that genetic bond shone out. He liked to be in charge and she usually liked to let him, easily falling back on his support without even realising it. It was odd in a way because Wolf could be so flighty, there with her one second and off inside his head the next, but no matter what he was doing or where he was, he had this way of making her feel better. And safe.

She didn't expect him to blow up like he did though. She probably should have, since she'd basically rolled over his masculine pride, spat in his face and turned her back on him. Except she was stupid, so when the chair smashed into the shelves, she near jumped a mile out of her skin and stood there gawking at him, huncing her shoulders defensively. She heard whimpers from under the table where Fawn and Comet were curled together as always, wanting to comfort them but too shocked.

Oh this was bad. The last time he freaked like this he'd gone after his own mother. There were too many people in here, ready and prepped for what amounted to war, for him to lose it without getting hurt. The way he was staring at her made her cringe in her boots, glancing around nervously in search of escape. She'd just decided to make a break for the back room - and the rear exit - when he closed the too-short gap between them. She squeaked when he grabbed her wrist, stumbling in his wake, afraid to fight bck in case it pushed him over the edge.

Spinning dizzily and almost falling flat on her face as Wolf let go, Piper stood there with huge eyes, her jaw slack as she started to speak several times, only to stop before she uttered a sound. She seriously wanted to be angry with him but all she could see, past the anger in his eyes, was the desperation to keep her safe. She hadn't thought... She should have realised how badly this would affect him. While it had been her that died, he'd been the one to deal with the consequences of it. She'd gotten off easy, really, and she really wished now she'd found another way to insist on going. Turning her back on him had just made things worse.

Almost swallowing her teeth as he shook her, Piper just stood there like a ragdoll, silent tears streaming down her cheeks. She didn't know what to say, how to convince him she should go along. In all honesty, she wasn't even sure how she could help, but for the same reasons he was demanding she stay behind, she wanted to know he was safe! She couldn't just sit here and wait for them to get back. How fair was it to beg others to help, risk their lives, while she was safe and warm?

"Wolf-" Her voice cracked and she sobbed, shaking her head. She didn't want to leave him. She didn't hate him, he had to know that. She understood... better now than she had before what had driven him to pull all that macho stuff in there, what had driven him the last couple of months after she was killed. She'd been so busy enjoying the extra attention she hadn't really considered why. Oh, she'd known that first week or so why he wouldn't let her out of his sight but she'd been so selfish.

"Wolf, I'm-" She grabbed for his hand as he turned away, completely missing, and started forward to race after him, only to be blocked by Dora's cat. Several attempts, blinded by tears, still didn't get her past the feline and Piper could tell Wolf was gone. She couldn't smell him, his scent so familiar and powerful to her. She couldn't hear his heartbeat, again so familiar. He'd left the building and, as angry as he was, Piper was terrified he'd get himself killed.

Wrapping her arms around her waist, Piper sniffled and looked at Sacha, wondering what it would take to get past him. She just hoped the others would follow Wolf and keep him alive.
