[Xanth]

You walk into the police department's building. It's a small two-storey red brick affair with freshly painted blue windows and surprisingly quiet inside. Three officers are inside, a brown-haired man relaxing at the front desk as a small woman, dwarfed by her companion, stands at a noticeboard comparing notes.

This is the place. If you need to complain to the Market Police, this is them. You can either air your grievance or queries in public, or take one of them aside.

Police Officers Zephyr Nymphadora Aiden

[Niles]

Niles approached The Police Department slowly, with Kaida a little behind him. When they reached the door he turned to her This is it, you okay? He asked. You know what you're going to say?

He looked up at the redbrick building, it looked like your typical police station with it's blue painted windows and such.

[Kaida]

Kaida clenched her teeth togther. The entire way over here she had been lost in thought. Niles had been awkardly silent, and she couldnt help but wonder. Voicing her opinion aloud, she asked him. You wern't and undercover cop like...sent to fetch me are you? Cus if so, your very good. She gave him a small grin mixed with a frown. it really wasn't funny, but she was really nervious right now. I have no clue what im going to say. I didn't exactly hide my face, so im sure the owner gave them my description.

Looking aound, she was starting to get second thoughts. Maybe living in NY wouldnt be so bad. Maybe... maybe I should get my hand healed first. She said, obviously throwing out the best idea she could to avoid what needed to be done.

[Niles]

Niled shook his head, with a nervous smile on his face. The truth was, he had no idea what the police would do or think of Kaida.

Maybe... maybe I should get my hand healed first.

Niles shook his head. No, you're just trying to run away, we'll get your hand healed after, it with be okay for a few minutes while you tell them your story.

[Kaida]

Letting out an exaggerated sigh, she nodded. Kaida really didn't want to do this, but she had no choice. Giving him a pathetic pout, she regained her composure and stepped up the short steps and into the building.

Looking around, it seemed very small. THere didn't seem to be anyone waiting. She wondered if she was the only "criminal" there. Turning to Niles she whispered. I dont think i can do this.

[Niles]

Niles urged her on You can do this. You're a strong person, I know that, I've seen you. You can do this, and once it's over, you'll know you've done the right thing and you'll feel much better.

He himself looked round, it was very small, mind you, it was just a marketplace, not a massive city, so they probably didn't need all that many police.

[Kaida]

Walking forward, Kaida approached the counter with Niles encouragment. Slowly leaning toward the woman, she cleared her throat. That edge in Kaida slowly came back. The conversation she had with Niles brought it down, somewhat, but here, she needed it to survive. Without being cocky to the police, she put on an emotionless face. Excuse me, I'd like to, talk to an officer. She turned back toward Niles who stood slightly behind her. She gave him a puzzled look. What was she supposed to say? Im here to turn myself in? How cliche. Leaning back on her heels, Kaida waited for the woman to respond.

[Nymphadora]

Nymphadora turned to look at the girl standing in front of her. This was the frist time anyone had come in since they opened up. She had been piled on with paperwork from day one. Having an actual person in the department was a nice change. Leaning forward she gave her a quick smile. Hi! Can I help you with anything?

Nymphadora looked at the woman, taking in her features. She was quite pretty, and extreamly tall. Cocking her head slightly, she couldnt quite place it, but Nymphadora could have sworn she'd seen the woman before. She seemed very fimilar. Letting the thoughts pass, she extended her smile, hoping the woman was here to give her something other than paper work to do.

[Niles]

Niles saw her puzzled look and gave her an encouraging smile. He approached the Officer. My friend has....something she'd like to tell you. The nymph behind the desk didn't look so bad, maybe she would be nice to Kaida.

He looked round at her Go on.

[Kaida]

Kaida gave Niles a small glare to say stop pushing me, then turned back to the woman in front of her. Rolling her eyes, she just said it. I was the one who let the animals out of the cages in the pet store. Crossing her arms, she gave the woman a defiant look, just temping her to say something. FOr some reason, Kaida felt like defending herself again. This is how it should have been in thre first place. She should have stood there and flat out told the shop owner how she felt instead of running. This way they couldn't call her a coward.

[Nymphadora]

Nymphadora glanced the the man beside the girl. He was probably there for emotional support. But from the way the two were acting, somehow she didn't think it was to reposrt a crime, or something making her a victim. It wasn't a moment later that her thoughts where confirmed. Raising her eyebrows, she nodded at the girls confession. Thats where i remember her from. Giving her a slight smile, she couldn't help but laugh inside. Oddly enough, the laugh escaped. So you're the one who gave Tom such a hard time. Well... actually Piper, according to the report. Giving her a wink, Nymphadora smiled. I could say good for you, but then I would be wrong as an officer of the law. Leaning in closer, she whispered. Dosn't mean I can't think it!

Looking at her fellow officer, she got back to buisness. Well, theres nothing i can do for you. Officer Aiden was assigned to your case. I think he's still out getting a statment. If you wouldn't mind having a seat over there, ill page him. Nymphadora pointed to the corner of the waiting room where she and Zephyr could keep and eye on the woman.

[Niles]

Niles caught her glare. He was a little annoyed, he was only trying to help. But at least they weren't fighting like ealier.

Niles listened to Dora and nodded with a smile at the officer, he made it own way over to the corner and waited for Kaida to join him.

[Kaida]

Kaida was caught off guard by the womans comments. She didn't expect that from an officer. But then again, she's never really delt with one. Nodding, she walked behind Niles and plopped into the seat right next to him. Crossing her legs, she sat there quietly, waiting for her doom to arive. She watched as the woman officer walked to the phone and punched in some numbers. She then went back to her deask area, and continued with what she had been doing. Releasing a sigh, Kaida crossed her arms and stared out the window, looking for signs of the officer named Aiden. After that... only time could tell what would happen with her.

[Aiden]

Leaving Tom's Pet Shop, Aiden strolled down the streets of the marketplace, going down the winding paths. Reaching a box shop, he halted to look at his surroundings. Where was the cafe?

Before he could figure out his location, though, the item at his belt began to vibrate. Something from Dora.

Sighing at his lost chance of sneaking a bite of food, Aiden Roy turned around returned to the front door of Tom's shop. Of course, he could have reached the Police Department from the Box Shop, but he didn't know the way.

He backtracked his way to the department. Entering the building, he saw the girl that Piper had described. "Hey," he said to the girl---a shifter, if he remembered correctly. Looking toward Dora, he raised an eyebrow. Had the girl turned herself in or had Dora been one step ahead of him?

[Nymphadora]

Nymphadora looked up when she heard the door open. Seeing it was Aiden, she called out to him. Aiden! She waited for him to look toward her. When she caught his eye, she gave a nod toward the girl who was sitting down. Your suspect turned herself in. She's waiting for you. With that, Nymphadora left Aiden to do his buisness. Turning her attneion back to her paperwork, she wondered when her first call would be. Aiden had practicly lept out of his skin for this job. At least thats how it appeared. Shrugging, she guessed it was good that they didn't have much to do. It ment safe streets. She dreaded the day she'd have to view a homicide, or worse. Her thought's automatically jumped to the vampires. Shaking her head, he mentally scolded herself. She really shouldnt be bias. Although sometimes, it was just hard not to be.

[Kaida]

Kaida looked up at the officer in front of her. When she realised that it was the shifter who had been talking to the Alpha eariler in the grove, she groaned. Of course.

Kaida hung her head, not expecting any sympathy. She hadn't in the first place, but somehow, she didn't think a fellow shifter, friend of the Alpha, would let her off as easily. Regreting coming here, Kaida eyed the door, wanted to bolt more now than she'd ever felt in her life. But as she looked that direction, she caught glance of Niles, and felt she'd dissapoint him if she did. It was werid, feeling anything other and annoyance toward anyone else. Maybe she'd lost her edge. Shaking her head, she stared at the floor, waiting to be cuffed and hauled into a cage herself. Isn't that ironic. What i was trying to change for the animals, is about to be done to me. wouldn't father be proud.

Kaida felt herself choke up at the thought of her father, but she pushed it back down, her eyes hardening while doing so. She could feel her once quickened heartbeat slow to a dull thud. She looked up at the officer, shooting him a look of "I really could care less".

[Aiden]

Nodding at Nymphadora, Aiden approached the white haired shifter. Raising an eyebrow as the younger shapeshifter sent him a cold look, Aiden fought the urge to shake his head in a mix of confusion and disappointment on part of the shifter. His first case was dealing with a thief---or a vandlist. What was the punishment for this kind of crime, anyway? He'd barely listened to the instructions given to the police. Either way, he wished to know what made her do such a crime.

Smiling in what he thought was a friendly manner, he began the conversation with, "I believe we've met at the shifter grove? I never expected to see you here." Motioning for the girl to sit in front of the desk nearby, Aiden took the seat across from hers.

[Niles]

Niles watched as the police officer motioned for Kaida to sit on the seat opposite him, he most likely didn't want Niles there too so He remained sitting right where he was.

Although he couldn't help turning an ear towards the conversation.

[Aeitius]

After leaving the sanctuary office, Aeitius heard a rumour from passersby and bystanders alike that a tiger cub and a bear cub were in the market police station. " I wonder why two cubs are in there. " he said to himself pondering. Curiousity creeped inside him therefore he decided to venture out and check out what is going on.

Asking directions here and there, he finally found the location. " At the back of Saks on Fifth Avenue, there is a secret portal. Upon entering Elysia you will be given the secret password for this portal, and will gain entry into our marketplace. " he repeated over himself as he read the right direction that was given to him.


Upon reaching the MPD station itself, he peeked through door and then saw the tiger cub, the bear cub and two officers nearby them. He then overheard the part where the bear cub confessed that " I was the one who let the animals out of the cages in the pet store. " Shaking his head, Aeitius wondered why would anybody do that, then he remembered that he is a cub himself and such things are a possibility. Not wanting to barge in the conversation, he waited for them to finish.


He thought to himself... 'perhaps they need a guard dog?'

[Kaida]

Kaida stood and followed the officer. She sent Niles a pleading look, practically begging him not to leave her. When the officer mentioned their meeting eariler, she turned her attention back toward him. Grumbeling, she hardly responded. Yea well... She let her words trail off as she noticed a man standing in the doorway looking at her. Scowling, she shot him a feirce look. What are you looking at. Nearly baring her teeth at him, Kaida sent him one last look of annoyance, then slumped into the chair oppisite the officer. Still scowling, the whole situation kept digging at her skin. The more the seconds past, the angrier she got. What was she thinking turning herself in. She didn't do anything wrong. In her mind at least. Crossing her arms over her chest in a difiant motion, Kaida glared at the officer. She no longer saw the shifter she met before in the grove, but just another pushover. And it really started to tick her off.
