So I realised recently that I don't know a great deal about our newer members and I'd like to change that so I had the bright idea of running this game that's both IC and OOC.

Every so often, I'll post a challenge or question (or maybe even a dare *bwahahaha*) and the idea is to post a response for yourself OOC as well as at least one of your characters. It doesn't have to be brilliantly written or carefully considered but it does have to be accurate. You don't have to take part, and you definitely don't have to take part every single week/question, but I just thought it would be a fun way to get better acquainted. ^^

So, my first question/challenge:

Describe your and your characters' hair

Emma

It's about shoulder-length now because it's grown out a bit after I had it cut (it used to be past my waist). I checked it against a hair dye once and the colour that matched closest was called "Spanish Copper", which is pretty close. There's a wide streak of this dirty blonde colour from the nape of my neck along the bottom but nobody ever sees it unless I have my hair up (which rarely happens these days).

Piper

Piper's hair is incredibly straight, almost to the point of having razor ends. At least until she braids it. It's a thick, rich dark brown/ almost black but when it catches the sunlight it has this blue-grey sheen. She tends to wear it in twin braids that taper off to thin ends wrapped with elastic bands or pretty scrunchies but sometimes has it down for parties.

Dazadi

Daz's hair is short but pretty unruly considering it only has a couple inches of length to it. Also straight with the ends tipped in blue (she likes to pretend she was born that way but really she dyes it! It's her one vanity, well that and preening her wings, and I really should rp that...) Anyway, it has a tendency to stick up and look spiky, especially when she gets aggravated and runs her hands through it or bats her head against a wall.

Xanth

Xanth's normal hair is usually some shade of purple with paler/lilac streaks (though she does like to pretend she's blonde for some reason). If she's showing off her powers, she likes to make it wave around as if she's underwater (I reckon it's just for the coolness effect ) but even when she's not deliberately making it do godly things, it's so long and wavy it has a mind of its own anyway.

Faroah

ZOMG, Faroah HAS NO HAR! Though I think he'd look rather cute in a wig...

It's ugly. Enough said... OK fine It's long, like, REALLY long. At least a good 4 inches i think. It IS a nasty dark brown color, but my parent's won't allow me to dye it blue. It's mildly wavy and has a tendency to poof out if i don't brush it... Oh, and almost every girl i ever meet is excruciatingly jealous of how awesome it secretly is

Chen
Hum, his hair's long too, but namely because it's not been cut in months. Being a hermit does that to a person, y'know? Anyways, it's a dirty blonde color and it comes down to about the base of his neck. It's rather straight too... I want his hair

Zephyr
... huh.... his hair's long too... that's.... an odd trend. Anyways, his hair is actually REALLY long. like, a good 7-8 inches or so. Also, it's a nice medium brown shade, so with being mostly flat it looks good with his whole warrior personality thing.

Naava
...hehe, Naava's hair is long too, bet you didn't see that coming. But it doesn't look so different being on a girl's head i suppose. Being about... 6 inches or so I guess. Anyways, it's majorly wavy and, while secretly a dark black/brown, she's died it so it's a bright blonde She usually leaves it down to add to her seductiveness, but will pull it back when she's tracking and/or hunting.

Sammi - Well.. my hair has been various lengths and I think pretty much all colours on my 18 years on the earth.. Its been white blonde, chocolate brown, red and then black when trying to get rid of the red! I used to dye the bottom layers of my hair as well, and they've been red, purple and blue. My hair's always been either really short (for me anyway) at chin length, or really long at lower back length. At the moment its "Light Beige Blonde" which is pretty much my natural colour, and about an inch past my shoulders. I'm willing it to grow but apparantly it doesn't grow on will alone

Scarlett - Scarlett's hair is scrumdidilyumptious. Its veeeerry long, like down to her bum almost, and a shocking flame colour.. bit of a cliche what with the name but never mind Its slightly wavy, but when she has her strange mood swings it tends to take on more of a wild curly mess, maybe not the ideal look for a hair dresser hehe.

Whee.. that was fun I'm intrigued by everybody's hair now!

Dora(me) (Seriously thinking about changing my name )
My hair is short. Well... a little too long right now Probably 2 inches. Ish. When I was born it was a strawberry blond color, which darkened as I got older. Now its a dirty blond, light brownish, tinted red in the sun or direct light. Its now dyed dark auburn. With chunks of blond and black within it I need to have it redone and cut tho. Badly X_x (I spike it, or put a little wax in it to make the "bed head" look. If im lazy I just wear a hat )

Nymphadora
Her hair is mid back in length. Dark blue, black even at times. Her hair is tri-colored if you will. Different shades of that brilliant blue. It's normally straight. But she doe's curl it from time to time. No bangs. Unless she cuts it short. Most always its kept down.

Kaida
Kaida's hair is white. Literally, the color of snow. Depending on the light she might look bleach blond. But its normally just plan white. At times she'd known to have teal streaks, though has outgrown her teenage years where she had done so. It's length varies, but usually is just below her shoulder blades. No longer. Normally she wears it in a braid, or pony tail. Up is best for her daily activities.

Wolf
Short, spiked if hes not lazy. Black, with a single streak of white near his right temple.

Suka
Short, but longer than most guys like. Almost has a "grunge" or "goth" feel. Dark brown, almost black.

Kade
Long. Probably ribcage length. Black, solid black. Worn in a low pony tail. Braided if Dazadi gets her hands on it.

Daz invasion: Whut? I likes playing with mah hubby's hair.

Me, Eyvind
Shoulder-length straight, blond hair. Not particularly exciting.

Jag
Since the character wasn't originally mine I have had trouble creating all of him. I'm leaning toward dreads, though.

Me-Aleeza
My hairs is put simply curly, wavy, frizzy and if i don't put anything in it after washing it turns into a mass of ringlets. It's an ebony color with streaks of brown in them which used to be red from where i got it highlighted about a year ago. it is from the top of my head to my lower back and being 5'9" it's really really long. Um eventually I'm going to cut at least half of it off and donate it to locks of love.

Destiny
Destiny's hair is basically the opposite of mine. It's straight and manageable, it has an occasional wave to it and half the time it's loose unless she's trying to hunt in human form. It's black like my own except for pitch black and her hair length depends on the season. If it's cold then it's down to her mid back, if its warm she cuts it to the nape of her neck and lets it grow out over the summer.

Dracos
His hair is dark brown and basically semi long but short enough for him to spike.

Katah
Katah is a bit of a rebel naturally born with light brown hair she tends to dye it dark brown with green tips. She cuts it boyishly short and then spikes it. Currently it is longer than usual since her return to Elysia.

Me-Ini

Normal male length, maybe a little longer (not good at describing it ). Its dark brown and I tend to like to comb it back or from the side...however my girlfriend doesnt like that so it generally is gelled in a bedhead style. (I know i know not long I'm not good at describing my hair it is just so average)

Inimicus Malus

A lot like Kade's it seems actually it is very long, easily to his midback usually (though at the moment he has it cut a bit shorter only to his shoulders). It is jet black with silver highlights throughout it and is generally in a ponytail when long or let loose when short (like now). Like Piper's it is eerily straight and very fine so it tends to blow around easily in wind.

My hair is like spastication for the nation, seriously. I started out dead straighty, then it went curly, now it's wavy. It was black, then dark brown and I decided to put purple highlights in it. They went red, orange, brown and now they're a sort of bronze color. Comes down to me ribcage

Ammy

Much nicer than mine. Slightly wavy black which comes down to her waist bit, has a blue sheen =D

Tell us something about your and your character's father that we don't already know.

Eeh, that sentence just obliterates the grammar, doesn't it?

Me

My dad volunteers at a preserved railway and has for, ooh, since I was 12 (I'm now 26). He started out as a signalman (the guy who pulls all those levers to direct trains) and added job after job until now he's one of the bosses and drives diesels as well as steam locomotives along with training, shunting, duty manager (the guy who's in charge of ops on a particular day so if something goes wrong everyone looks at him and goes "hurh?").

Piper

Piper's dad Charlie was second-generation Chinese-American and worked in an electronics store as a shop assistant. He was fun-loving and affectionate, often telling his wife to lighten up and dragging her into games and stuff she wouldn't dream of playing otherwise. He died of a heart attack at work one day.

Xanth

Not sure what I can tell you about Xanth's dad that you don't already know. I mean, we all know Abdiriz is some kick-ass kind of bad guy, right? He's the kind of guy who'd rip the legs of a kumo just to see it suffer. His sons are nothing more than potential canon fodder, and his daughters are mere political pawns to be married off to the strongest bidder. He's very much the tyrannical, macho man's man right down to using a dagger instead of a dinner knife. Also, his aura is pink. Butnotreally. ¬.¬

Dazadi

Dazadi's got one of those "I'm a warrior with a tragic past, pity me" histories. She carries her dad's great sword around like some kind of badge of merit but the first time she tried to wield it, she got knocked on her ass. (Actually... the first few hundred times too...) Her parents died when she was 8 in a Skotadi-Apalos massacre but what she's never really talked about is that her dad died while protecting her mom. It's one of the reasons Daz always felt a bit resentful towards them, because she thinks Seraphina should have protected herself instead of just standing there protesting that "violence begets violence!". Daz thinks they'd both still be alive if Sera had been a warrior, and that her father was an idiot for trying to shield her.

Faroah

omg, does Far even have a dad?! Psh, of course he does. He's told me absolutely nothing about him though. I wonder if bribery via cookies would get me anything...

My Dad works for Nissan. He's kind of one of the topdog dudes, one of the blokes who're all "omg, where's my 2pm?! D:" He sort of runs one of the departments, I think. Which one, I don't know. We don't discuss it in our house. My step-dad... works at inland revenue. He's sort of a tax-man, full-time, except he just counts up stuff and makes sure everyone's doing their bit for the government. And part-time, he works at BSM, which is part of the RAC. Basically, he's a driving instructor.

Chen's dad is a human jerk who hates Elysians and tried to kill Chen. 'nuff said.

Zeph's dad is the stereotypical macho-man warrior who hates compassion and love. He kicked Zephyr out of their tribe when he was young.

Naava
Naava's dad was an Anyeli warrior who died in battle. Naava hates him for leaving her mother like that and blames him for how her life has turned out.

Hmm.. he's head of a sales deparment for a gas analyser company. Not too sure exactly what that means but I know he's quite high up in the company

Scarlett's Dad
Scarlett's dad is not a nice man AT ALL. After finding out both his children had been turned into vampires he ignored them, and pretended that they never existed. Even before that he wasn't really very nice, always nagging at Scarlett & her brother to follow down certain routes they didn't want to follow.

Definetly prefer my dad hehe.

My dad

My dad is a computer Net Worker and happily divorced from my mom and has a girlfriend.

Destiny's Dad

Her dad was a pack leader out in the wilds, murdered by poachers.


Draco's Dad

A fire Demon with royal background (was his idea to adopt Destiny)

Katah's Dad

Not to much known about him, he's really rich and tends to stay out of his daughters life.

Nymphadora

Although he loved his wife and family, he also loved war. Thrived off it. Was the first to be called in, was the last to go home. Workaholic if you will.

Kaida

Her dad was unfaithful. Though... being a actual Polar bear and not a Therian... it's not hard to understand. Kaida has little half siblings running around. Though they are full animal, and could never know her.

Suka

I don't know much about him... he's... a mystery. He loved his mistress, but is loyal to his family. However, had Dora's mother abandoned her husband, I think Suka's father would have abandoned his family as well.

Kade

He's afraid of the dark. *shifty eyes* Hehe, I dunno actually. Totally just made that up. ;>>

Wolf

Hehehehe, this should be easy . He feels like a failure for dying. For letting Dazadi down. He feels guilt and regret for putting her through his death. Although kind hearted... he dosn't feel guilt for what he did to Suka. And ignores the fact that Dazadi does.

Me

My real father left me and my mother when I was 3. He came into contact with me when I was 13ish. (5th/6th grade) But I've not heard from him sense. Sad thing... we live in the same state. Just... opposite ends. (Although I'm not for sure now)

What's your deepest fear?

Emma

I have a couple of phobias, specifically wasps and spiders, but my deepest fear would actually be an absolute loss of control. I felt a little bit of that during the summer two years ago when a wasp got into my room and I was trapped on my bed. That affected me badly enough that I refuse now to have my windows open for most of the year because it's really not something I want to have happen again. I'm afraid of the house setting on fire, of being alone in the house, all that kind of stuff as an extension of being out of control, so... yeah.

Xanth

Xanth actually has two: that Abdiriz will find her and destroy everything she's built and everyone in Elysia and Earth to punish her; but more than that she fears doing something, making a mistake that will completely ruin everything.

Dazado

That's an easy one. Daz's biggest fear isn't even her fear of Kade dying again or losing Wolf. It's the fear that nothing that's happened in the last few months is real - that Kade's still dead and that she's hallucinated the whole thing. Nothing will ever reassure her which is sad... Normally she trusts that it happened but sometimes she wakes up terrified, especially with Kade in Nirim and her living alone again.

Piper

I don't think Piper actually knows what her biggest fear is. She knows she's a scaredy-cat and like me has a couple of phobias like with spiders and creepy crawlies but she doesn't really think about her actual fears. I feel like she finds something new to be scared about every time she posts. Actually, thinking about it, she's scared of losing control like me with her vampirism but mostly she's afraid that she's not strong enough to survive alone.

Faroah

His worst fear is waking up one day to find all his shinies stolen. Bless him.

Me

I'd go to my most obvious fear, claustrophobia, as it is stronger than any other fear I have, but my deepest fear? I'd have to say my deepest fear would be dying alone having not accomplished anything in my life. Like, never marrying, or having children. As much as a part of me thinks I wouldn't be good with kids, another part of me believes that as a woman, you could never do anything as great as having a child. I'm afraid I'll fail my purpose here on earth.

Nymphadora

Her biggest fear would be that of water, though it's not her deepest. I'm not too sure actually, and this might not be her deepest, but the one that pops out to me most would be her fear of not fitting in. She'd afraid of being different. Not being accepted for who she is. Which causes her to have a mask on at times. I honestly don't think anyone truly knows who Nymphadora really is.

Kaida

Kaida's fear is one that was shown on the site several time. She's afraid of being alone. Afraid of having no reason to live. She needs a purpose in life, and believe it or not, its why she cares for others. It's why her banishment hit her hard.

Wolf

Wolf's deepest fear would have to be that he really is insane. That he's loosing his mind. That... he's too much like his mother. =/ (Sorry Daz)

Suka

Suka's hard as well. But... I think his deepest fear is going to hell. He was raised religiously (as much as one could be being an Elysian) Now that he has his memories and knows what he's done, its probably really scary. Which leads to death. Probably his biggest fear. His death... the death of others. Death in general.

Kade

Loosing his family. Not being able to protect them. Not dying, but the consequences of it. Loosing control.

Well, normally, I would say failing at school - I really think that I could have a good chance of getting into a good university, but I'm quite small and easily intimidated; resulting in the fact that I can get led astray. But... the stronger fear would be heartbreak. I've seen it portrayed in movies, read about it in graphic detail in books... And I daresay that it's one of my blackest demons. >_>;

Um... drowning. She can't swim, and if she can do nothing with her wings, then she's a goner. A soppy pidgeon.
