The healing process for a dragon was rather slow. Either that, or his injuries had been massive. Kade preferred to pretend it was the first. It had been over a month when he'd sustained his injuries, and was only just recently given the ok to morph back into his human form. What was scary, was how Kade realized just how some dragons lost their ability to regain their human form. Because he'd been in his dragon for for so long, his body was weak to the transformation, and his will even weaker. Instincts that he had in best form were very strong, and the threat of loosing that almost caused Kade to reject the process all togther.
Lia was no help in this department. After months of not talking to Siphae, she'd finally found her way back to his mind. She'd been hurt by his rejection of her help, and like he, was too stubborn to make the first move. It had been Kade that called out to his beloved friend, pleading with her to help him overcome the situation he'd created for himself. Almost instantly the blue dragonw as by his side, encouraging him to follow through with his transformation, allowing the pain to be masked by his will and need to see his family. To go back home to Dazadi.
In the end, Kade wanted nothing to do with his beast form, but he knew that rejecting it... refusing to use it, would only cause him to loose it. Luna, so innocent, yet annoying, had made that point rather flippedly, which although causing Kade to realize and accept it, it also meant that his recuperation wasn't over. Instead of focusing on healing his body, he now had to retrain himself how to morph and deal with the insane pain that it caused when doing so. He felt as if he was a fledgling all over again, just getting into his training as a warrior. He remembered those days well. Even thinking about it made him stiff. Although now, not a muscle in his body wasn't aching.
Lifting his hand slightly, a brief motion to the bartender, Kade sat with his eyes closed, sleep fighting with the need to drink his body numb. He missed his family. His lifemate. Every day he was without her, his heart ached. But Nirim was no place for an Angel like Dazadi. No place for any non dragon. Kade couldn't afford to get in a fight over comments that could be made. He'd pull a muscle and end up staying even longer... The moment he could hold his body up without support however... Kade would go home. He'd go home and be with his wife.
