Full Name:* Anat Virva
Nickname: Nat, although nobody is really close enough to call her that.
Gender:* Female
Actual age:* 18
Apparent age:* 18
Race:* Mixed Animal Therian (American Alligator, Marine/Reptile)
Level: 1
Equipment: A set of three dice each one carved out of a different gem (opal, sapphire and emerald.) She carries these in a small pouch that hangs off her belt.

Physical Description:*
Animal Form: Still being a young adult, Anat has yet to develop a fully adult animal form. She is still a juvinile alligator, but is nearing adulthood. The distinctive yellow stripes of most juviniles have just barely started to fade into the gray green scales typical of adults. Her underbelly is still a yellow color however. These scales cover her entire body, raising into small ridges on her back. She hasn't reached the huge size of adult alligators, but from tip of her nose to her tail she measures out at two feet, definitely large for her age. Her tail looks powerful and dangerous, but not half as dangerous as her mouth, which has menacing white teeth displayed whether its open or not. Her eyes are slitted and predatory, the same color as the green algae that covers swampy waters.

Human Form: In human form, Anat isn't half as threatening at first glance, but she carries herself like a predator and still has a dangerous air about her that scares people away. Her eyes are the same algae green. Normally they are not slitted, but when Anat gets angry or excited, they will often become slitted as they are in her animal form. Other mistransformations are also common at times of stress like this, but her eyes almost always change while other animal features appearing are simply random. Her hair is a dark gray with several blond streaks running through it. Her bangs are long and often tucked behind her ears to keep from getting in her way. The back of her hair is cut very short and choppy, resulting in chunks of hair at different lengths that give it a soft spiky look. Her face is surprisingly dainty and beautiful, with large bright eyes, small eyebrows and full lips. The only thing that mutes her beauty is her smile. It isn't ugly, just a little too wide and a little too white, giving it a strangely threatening feel no matter how warm the emotion behind it.

Physically, Anat doesn't stand out from the crowd too much. She is tall for a therian, standing at about five ten, but neither exceptionally skinny or heavy. She isn't skinny and has what one would call 'feminine curves' that might excite men in smoky bars at night. She is heavier than most dainty girls, but her weight comes from muscles and not fat so it does not detract from her figure much. Anat moves with a boldness and decisiveness that gives the impression of authority. If she strains she can move gracefully and seductively, but she prefers not to pretend to be what she's not.

Personality:* Anat is definitely straightforward, and strong willed. She doesn't bother with beating around the bush or with polite chatter, she will ask what she wants and say exactly what's on her mind regardless of how it affects those around her. She is animal-like in her speech in this way. She doesn't understand the subtleties and tactics of human speech and feels that people should just say what they mean and not fool around with extra words. She will not pick up on any subtle hints in the way things are spoken or phrased. Clever people could trick her into saying or agreeing to things easily. However, she is very acute at picking up the atmosphere and mood of the people around her. She might not understand she's being made fun of in a subtle way, but she will pick up on the taunting mood and visous emotions of the room around her and figure it out.

It's best not to taunt her anyways, because she has a bit of a temper and can be very unpredictable. She will often sit calmly through an entire conversation and one bad move at the end of it can have her explode into anger. She is not very good at controlling sudden bursts of rage and if you anger her she will immediately turn to you and rip you apart, if you're lucky it will only be verbally. She is however very good at nursing grudges and controlling her emotions out of the moment. Her favorite form of revenge is to stalk her 'prey' calmly and quietly and then jump them quicker than they can react and enact her revenge. Supressing her emotions to stalk someone is the only time Anat will come close to lying. She lays all her emotions for all to see and is quite honest all the time unless called upon to lie for important reasons. She will never mislead you or manipulate you unless she has the intent of finishing what she started.

There are some cheery parts to her though. She loves a good drink and instantly likes anyone who buys anything for her or is kind to her in any way. This is amusing since it can lead to crushes and Anat is probably the lst person inclined to intimate behavior. She grows shy and nervous when there's anyone she cares about around. Her own honest personality lends her to be very trusting of people instinctively, although once you break her trust it is very hard to reforge. She also absolutely loves games of chance, gambling, and competitions. She will accept any challenge, bet, or game no matter what odds are against her. Gambling is her favorite and she has become quite the card shark(alligator?,) although dice games are her favorite. If you ask her she will say that gambling was the one thing humans got right better than the animals.

Background:* Her father was a giant alligator and her mother was a hippo. Neither of the two were particularly built for parenting so pretty much as soon as Anat was born she was on her own. Oh sure, her father took care of her tiny crocodile self for the first two or three weeks, but as soon as she could swim she was on her own. For this reason she never really developed any kind of family bond with either of her parents or siblings, which is probably why she is worse at social interaction even more so than most animal Themarians. She was born in the lake, and so quickly learned how to take care of herself. She probably would've been completely happy living her entire life as an alligator hunting in the lake until one day.

It was a human man who had accidentally led his boat into the the lake and was heading towards the bog. She grew fascinated by him and started following him around. She had never seen any humanoid besides other Themarians and she could tell he was probably not one of them after observing him for some time. Finally, her curiosity got the best of her and she transformed into her human form, just so she could talk to him. He turned out to be a rather famous gambler who had visited Danuri not so long ago. Someone had discovered and extra ace up his sleeve and he had been chased out of town by an angry mob. He had actually purposefully started going into the bog to escape his pursuers. Anat was taken in wonder by him, and he was quite the charmer and soon had her wrapped around his finger. She followd him into the very edges of the bog and he gave Anat her first gambling experience. She fell in love with the game. Anat would've stayed with him forever if the beasts of the bog hadn't butted in, before she knew what had happened the gambler was dead. Anat was far too weak to do anything but watch and flee. She managed to get his lucky dice off of his body before the creatures of the swamp devoured him and she has kept them with her ever since.

It wasn't a particularly sad experience, Anat had known the man for less than a day and got over him quickly, shedding a few crocodile tears for his sake. But the wonder she had felt opened her up to the thought that there was a world outside her little bog... a world full of betting and gambling. Excited at the thought, Anat left the swamp. She has been traveling the world ever since in a rather lackadaisical and directionless manner.

Hey Pen ^_^ Welcome to EF! It's nice to see new faces =)

From what I could see, you've really read up on EF, which is an amazing start XD

We no longer have a high school board for PG16 RPs, as the board itself has evolved, but until your an actual adult in your state, or wherever you reside, we will have to ask that the maturity level is kept at that of 16 ^_^ Which means refraining from reading 18+ threads, as well as no access to the college board. Sorry, but thats one of our more strict of rules here. =)

Also, we normally tend to go by the first name in your user name, so I'll go ahead and shorten that to just Anat for you. ^^

For her animal form, I might be mistaken, but from how it reads, her length as a baby form is 7ft. Thats simply too big for a baby alligator. The largest we can allow for a baby would be around 2ft.

For her human form, she'd not be able to have slitted eyes when she's angry or excited, as control over body parts isn't precise. If she got angry, it wouldn't be her eyes only that messed up. But her tail could appear, or scales could cover her body, or she could shrink in size. The list goes on and on. Sometimes her eyes might not even change at all. Control over single body parts shifting, as i assume you were trying to express here, isn't something one can master until later levels. At times they will loose control, or a shift wont go perfectly. But we try not to leave the "good" attributes only. We try and incorporate the embarrassing ones as well.

Also with her height, Therian's don't tend to stand at 6ft. I'd try and make her a little shorter. The norm would probably be 5'8", if you wanted her tall, 5'10".

However, she is very acute at picking up the atmosphere and mood of the people around her. She might not understand she's being made fun of in a subtle way, but she will pick up on the taunting mood and visous emotions of the room around her and figure it out.

For this snippet, you'll need to be very careful in how you RP this. We have Empaths here on EF, and having this ability is treading that line. She might be able to sense some things... though not as accurately as it seems your wanting her to. If you want and empath, might look into having a Gold Dragon *wink*

For her background, you mention that her father was a crocodile. If this is the case, then she too would need to be a crocodile, not an alligator.

As a young shifter, especially one not used to human contact, she wouldn't be able to tell a human apart from a shifter. =)

As for having her live in Banshee Bog, I'm afraid that, that will have to change. As an alligator of her size and inexperience, she'd have been killed instantly by the creatures in the bog. The forum itself is rather new, and we've not had a chance to develop it, but as I'm sure you might have noticed, its for level 6 only. Having her have lived there, and being level 1, she'd be dead. There are worse things living in there than a croc. Also, the bog is highly acidic. An alligator, or any other normal creature, wouldn't be able to live there for prolonged periods of time. You could have her been raised in the lake though. =)

Normally we don't allow belongings that carry high value, like the dice your character has. With a story behind them, we might allow it, but I'm still a little uneasy about this. Perhaps if the dice weren't entirely made from gems, but having gems in them. I'll have to speak with another mod about this.

Other than those few things, she looks like an awesome character. I love her personality, its so well thought out. In fact, she doesn't seem to be like anyone else in EF.

If you could fix those few things, then I'll get you all set up and ready to RP ^^

Okay, I understand about the age thing and I respect your rules. Hopefully I'll be around long enough to join some of those threads.

As for all the mistakes, I'm sorry, I probably should've reread and edited my post more. I wrote it all in one sitting >.<

I tried to change it so the eyes becoming slitted could be accompanied by other mishaps. I hope it's okay now. I was not trying to portray purposeful shifting of characteristics at her level, I was actually trying to show her inability to control her human form completely so sorry if that came out wrong.

She does not have empathy in any magical sense. She does not sense true emotions, she just picks up body language well because that's how a large amount of communication in animals. A good actor could easily fool her into 'sensing' the wrong thing from them. It's just that if someone is making sarcastic remarks she will not pick up on the sarcasm. She will however pick it up if a group of people are making sarcastic remarks, grinning, and sneaking amused looks at each other, she'll assume something being said is a joke, most likely pointed at her. Also, some body language of humans still escapes her. She will not understand flirting in the form of physical contact since contact is completely normal for animals. If this is still too close to empathy I will just take it away.

Her father being a crocodile was a typo, and I shrunk down her size (which required her stripes to be stronger but that's fine.) >.<

If you decide the dice cannot be kept, I can change them to be miniature dice, about the size of the eraser on the end of a wooden pencil. If not, they can be out of elephant ivory instead.

Thanks for responding so quickly ^_^

And don't worry about making mistakes. It happens to the best of us =)

I'm glad that you understand a lot of what I pointed out. When making a journal and an over all look into a char, i know some things must be left out, and some skipped over, hense why some of it looked as if you meant one thing, when really you meant something else. Which is fine. You'll be able to show her true character when you RP her.

As for her being able to read people, what you have is perfectly fine ^_^ I was just letting you know to be aware of how she does it, as it might come across as being empathic. =)

Everything else looks good! Thanks for making the small edits. =)

For her dice, again, I'm not sure about them. They might be fine as they are, but I'll need to talk with another Mod about it and make sure its ok =) For now, just keep it the same, and if we need it to be changed, we'll contact you ^_^

Ill go ahead and set you up asap, probably tomorrow, but feel free to start RPing ^_^

Welcome to EF, Pen. ^^ I set up Anat's account so you can go ahead and post. I'm sorry it took so long, I haven't been well. For her dice, I think it's best if they're tiny ones like you suggested. :)

Have fun! :D
