Item description: Foehn. A wakizashi of striking similarity to the lelaithe Xanth bestowed upon Aella. Part of a set, lacking its larger variant. The blade emanates perceptible warmth, though the metal appears as any other. It seems to breathe when exposed to the elements, and a soft rushing of air accompanies its open presence. When swung, it rumbles like an approaching thunderstorm. The blade is 52cm long, with a slight outward curve. The edge is decorated with a pattern akin to meander, repeating down the length with uniform size and shape. Single-edged. Wrapped aged leather hilt, bound, sans pommel and guard.
Enchantment: Foehn's edge desiccates liquids, quickly evaporating them upon contact. The blade itself is not hot; rather, the ability seems divine in nature. With mental exertion the user can prevent this effect, though only for a limited period of time. When sheathed, the effect ends. Wrapped in dry airs, the Foehn's lethal range is rather deceiving. Though diminutive, the weapon appears to cut 30~45cm longer than it should. The harsh winds that it can evoke seem to lend it a slashing power that carries beyond the weapon's physical arc. This disorientation can catch others unaware, often to their peril.
Curse: When drawn, Foehn taxes its user's mental faculties; after a few minutes, a headache is likely, with worsening progression as use continues. This mental drain does not go away once the weapon is sheathed, and must be handled as one might normally handle such problems. Prolonged use can result in more severe reactions. Because it generates a faint source of heat and noise when unsheathed, attempts at stealth or concealment are more likely to fail. Additionally, because it's shiny people are naturally curious, and some people will do cruel things to better themselves financially.

Item description: Foehn's scabbard, gilded with wind motifs, a gradient of ivory-white to sandy-yellow; the color of rolling desert dunes.
Enchantment: When Foehn is sheathed, its scabbard recovers the user's wounds at an accelerated rate (particularly lacerations and bruises, and to a smaller extent muscular and skeletal damage). This recovery process does not erase or subdue any resulting pain. Has no effect on diseases or poisons. Has no effect when not worn on the person, or within close proximity (<30cm).
Curse: When the scabbard is empty, the user is prone to recklessness and has less regard for personal safety.
