Zephyr was annoyed, and growing increasingly more so by the minute. The woman was pushing his buttons in all the wrong ways. She was taunting him like a beast, and Zephyr did not appreciate being treated like an animal. More than that, though, she was enjoying it. It made Zephyr's blood boil and fanned his desire to punch that smirk off her face.

Quickly, though, the seen changed again as she spoke. Her first sentence doubted his honor, forcing Zephyr to clench both his fists and his teeth and firmly plant his feet. He was going to take her down, one way or another. Suddenly, though, she also moved into a battle ready position and defied him to take his weapon forcefully. "With pleasure," the fighter said as his Dragon partner reared up and shouted something in a deafeningly loud and deep guttural voice. As his tail hit the ground it cause the surround area to shake a little bit, hopefully throwing the Skotadi off her balance a bit so that Zephyr could get he weapon back. In one sudden motion mere seconds after the dragon's tail touch the ground Zephyr was lunging forward and down to try and slam into the woman's stomach and knock her to the floor beneath him.

As he rushed forward the familiar ring of telepathy sounded once again in Zephyr's head as the words materialized in his mind. "I'm trying. If you could take us somewhere not here it'd be a great help, though." he responded in a gruff manner telepathically as he attempted to get his sword back once and for all.

So challenging their honour probably hadn't been the best idea. Even Dazadi, fearless warrior, felt a flash of nerves as the huge-ass dragon stomped his angry disapproval, a flash of fire heating her cheeks enough for her to want to fan her face to cool off. The only thing stopping her was her pride, and that was strong enough to keep her face set and her eyes on the 'Varian, ignoring the dragon's unintelligible snarling in favour of keeping her own honour intact. The only sign she gave that his reaction had affected her was the spread of her wings to keep her balance as the thud vibrated through the ground underfoot like a mini quake and the slight flush of her cheeks.

She probably should have snapped for the damn thing to keep its anger to itself or take it someplace it couldn't hurt anyone, but she didn't honestly care if people got too close to the beastie for their own good or if a few bits of marble cracked off Xanth's silly statue.

Finally, the 'Varian got the point. She'd begun to think he was going to withdraw his challenge, or try to tell her he'd meant something else entirely, but what the hell. She didn't really care if it was his sword or not, she just wanted to fight something. She had an itch and was determined to scratch it, even if it meant fighting his damned dragon as well.

Sneaky censored, using his dragon's anger as a distraction. Daz had gotten caught up in her own thoughts again, making her slow to react. His arms came around her midriff and the wind was knocked out of her lungs as his weight carried them back, Dazadi's feet coming off the ground. Her wings spread automatically to slow them down and her hands balled into fists, slamming against his shoulders out of reflex. She twisted, her body squirming in an attempt to flip them over so he'd take the brunt of the impact when they landed, a thrilled grin on her face.

Contact, yes. That's all Zephyr needed to try and distract her as on of his hands grasped for his blade as it rested on her back. But this chick wasn't going to give up without a fight, no, of course not. This was Dazadi. From all the rumors spread amongst the known realms she was stark raving mad. Apparently something to do with that hind creature he'd helped them to slay a while back. Zephyr didn't really care why, though, he just wanted the blasted weapon back. The sword was a symbol of him and of his honor, and it was going to be returned to him one way or another.

Allowing the Anyeli to flip him to the bottom, Zephyr smirked as he attempted to grab the rope that was holding his weapon onto her and kick her over his head at the same time. With any luck the cord would snap and a least make his weapon easier to remove from her body once he defeated her. Wincing for a split second as he hit the stone-cobbled floor with a great force, Zephyr quickly attempted to reassess the situation and not allow himself to be dazed by the impact.

She figured the first thing he'd do was go for his sword. That was the kind of sneaky crap she'd pull, and this guy wanted it real bad. At the first tug of the thick string, she gave him a toothy grin. She was happy he'd taken the brunt of the impact - she liked her wings where they were, thank you - but, typical Red, he was stronger than he looked and easily lifted her over his head.

She was tricky, too, though, and as he flipped her, she grabbed the makeshift sheathe of the sword he coveted so badly and twisted, letting the momentum carry her. She tucked and rolled, grunting as her wings strained against the hard ground, her heavy boots digging in on the flipside as she slid into a crouch with the sword in her fist and held out behind her, a triumphant grin on her face. "You'll have to do better than that, mister!"

Still in a crouch with one hand braced on the cobbles, her wings spread so she could leap into the air at a moment's notice, she grinned at him through her bangs, her grin bordering on demonic. Her thigh smarted where his workboot planted and there were a couple of blue-black feathers on the ground, but she hadn't felt this good in ages.

Bring it on.

"Ugh..." Zephyr was in pain. Not so much from the small bruise forming on his shoulder where the female had hit him, but from the thick wooden handle on his axe that was now apparently at one with his spine. Perhaps allowing himself to hit the ground first hadn't been the best tactical decision. Even more so, attempting to defeat the girl in hand-to-hand combat was probably a rash decision as well. The woman was a Skotadi, and obviously a warrior with the strength she had, she was more likely to know how to defeat him hand-to-hand than if he pulled his weapons.

As he thought his hands moved swiftly and accurately despite is discomfort, quickly grabbing throwing knives from his thigh and slicing the leather straps at his waist and near his neck that head his two sheaths in place. this would be the 5th time in the last month he'd have to repair those, perhaps it was time to think up a better way to keep his weapons on him. The straps cut, Zephyr firmly planted his hands on either side of his head and, shifting his weight onto them, launched himself upwards.

Realizing the woman was behind him, and his Axe was on the ground, Zephyr spun himself about as he feet snapped together, forcing his axe to spin with him as it's blade screeched along the ground. The moment he face her he launched the two knives he still held in her direction before spreading his legs and bending over to pick up his axe. In one swift motion he had it up and firmly grasped in both hands, the blade handing low to his right as he charged towards her, ready to swing the moment he was close enough to her.

Oh, yay, weapons!

She stayed in her crouch, watching him with a grin as he jumped to his feet and pulled some fancy footwork, scrunching her eyes up in a wince at the gods-awful sound of his axe on the cobbles. Just like her husband, he went for his throwing stars - no, knives - and Dazadi pouted. Why'd it have to be knives?

Slamming one hand into the cobbles behind her, she stretched back, the first knife barely missing the top of her head. Ooh, he better not have given her a haircut. The second she grabbed for as she pushed herself back up into her balanced crouch, the blade knicking the flesh between her thumb and forefinger as her fist closed around it.

Stupid thing to do, really. It wasn't like she could use the damn thing, but it might serve as a distraction if she tossed it. And who knew, it might actually go where she aimed it for once.

With him already charging, Daz didn't have much time to get out of the way. The muscles of her thighs flexing, she threw herself up and back, tossing his own knife back at him (she could already tell it was wide, but maybe he was too dumb to realise that). She wasn't reaching for her own weapons yet, though. Swords didn't match well against axes and her dagger wouldn't do squat. This way, she could grab for the shaft with both hands and stop him from chopping her in half.

This girl was insane, moreso than the stories even claimed. Who in their right mind grabbed a knife while it was still flying through the air?! Clenching his teeth, zephyr continued to rush towards her, swinging his axe as soon as possible, though not soon enough apparently as she leapt into the air. Sneaky and conniving little woman.

The throwing of his knife didn't phase him much as it plunked to the ground about a yard or so away from him, smashing against a stone before lying uselessly on the floor. If this fight was going to go into the air then the Anyeli would have far to much of an advantage. They needed to go somewhere where it would be too difficult to fly. "Slythe, can you get us to the Ceracen isles? I need to keep her out of the air if I want to stand any chance at this," he said telepathically to his dragon partner as he kept his eyes focused on the woman's position, ready to swing his axe whenever she came close enough.

((OOC: Slythe the Viridis Beast Dragon, played by Russ))

Ugh, combat. Was that all this brute ever did? Every time Zephyr had summoned Slythe thus far it was for combat practice or some similarly vigorous activity. Didn't the man understand the value of being lazy? But still, at least this time he was fighting for a reason. That little whelp of a woman had insulted the both of them and Slythe wasn't about to oppose this exchange of blows. Though he wasn't quite sure that Zephyr would win, especially with those wings of hers. Not that Slythe wouldn't help Zephyr in the air if he needed it, but that rock-headed warrior still wasn't fully capable when they were flying. Come to think of it, wasn't that something they were going to practice today?

Zephyr's request was odd, though. He wanted Slythe to teleport them somewhere? But where? Why? It was a rather odd request to come in the middle of combat, especially without more explicit details. Besides, at this point Slythe couldn't see a way for him to get in contact with the both of them at the same time without getting his tail chopped off, and he didn't exactly want that. He could always teleport them separately, but no, Zephyr would liekly have a conniption and explode if he did that and the female ended up getting away, which judging by her mobility she likely would be out of sight by the time Slythe came back for her.

At the second request, though, Slythe nodded the affirmative. "Fine then, time to fly, Zephyr," he responded before leaping forward and spreading his wings, his tail headed for his partner while a string of flames were spewed above the head of Dazadi. "One of us needs to be in contact with her," he said telepathically as his tail wrapped about Zephyr and lifted him into the air and his claws reached out for the girl. Catching her was going to be half of this battle.

Dazadi hadn't quite forgotten about the dragon, but she hadn't expected Kade to run to Siphae so quickly.

Naturally, the knife missed its mark and she'd thrown it with so much force it shattered so it wasn't something she could keep in mind as a backup. It didn't even faze him, either. The only reason she wasn't in pieces on the floor right now was because she'd had the good sense to use her wings, but as he swung his axe, Dazadi blinked in confusion. Kade didn't use an axe...

And his dragon wasn't that ugly lime and mustard colour, either. What the hell...?

"Gah, you censored!" She ducked the stream of fire, letting herself drop a little in the air to avoid the blast of heat. It wasn't close enough to do any damage - she got the feeling they were corralling her rather than trying to damage her - but she detested being hot. She wasn't about to be trapped in one of those giant claws again, though, and there'd be hell to pay if they so much as tried it!

Teleporting instantly out of the dragon's reach, she flipped them both the bird. "Nice try, Kade, but I'm not..." Frowning again, she blinked and had to remind herself Kade was gone. She wasn't fighting that censored. Why was she having such a hard time remembering that?

Scowling, she backed up in midair, her wings making that sweet sound as the air sifted through her feathers. A scream from below reminded her this wasn't the best place for a fight like this - and it probably wasn't the first, now she came to think on it - so she picked the first place that popped into her head. "Coliseum. And your dragon so much as touches me with those gods-damned claws and I'm hacking them off!"

That said, she blew him a taunting kiss and disappeared.

"Don't vomit, don't vomit, don't vomit," was all that Zephyr could think as Slythe's tail wrapped around him. It wasn't exactly easy not to, though, since every movement the censored dragon made cause Zephyr to be jerked tighter right at his stomach. "If you're doing this on purpose so help me I'll skin you're hide!"" Zephyr said to his dragon as he held his hand to his mouth to keeping himself from hurling.

Trying to remember to dangle limply as they flew, one of the first things he'd learned while flying with Slythe, Zephyr struggled to keep hold of his axe as his partner's tail flipped him this way and that. Ugh, that censored dragon WAS doing this on purpose, or at least he was now. Vomiting a bit in the back of his mouth Zephyr clenched his eyes as he swallowed it back down. Ughhhhh, he shuddered as he swallowed the vile concoction. It tasted worse than blood-and that was saying something.

Hearing the a few screams from below, Zephyr opened his eyes to see what was happening on the ground beneath him. A couple of people had run from the square already and not a mother was trying to pull her gawking son out of harm's way. Hearing the odd-but-recognizable sound of teleporting, Zephyr refocused himself on her in time to catch the tail end of her comment. "Wh-" he started to say before stopping as his hand rushed to keep his insides actually inside of him.

Hearing her comment, or rather demand, Zephyr scowled. He couldn't see her from the angle he was dangling but he could hear what she was saying fairly well. "Let's go. But I swear, if I lose my lunch you'll lose far more than that!" he told his dragon partner as he prepared himself for the ever-odd sensation of disappearing from one place and appearing in another.
