Kioni stood outside the store for one long moment, reading the sign repeatedly and frowning. This area... this was where Zepyr's Smithery was supposed to be. Wasn't it? She was definitely sure someone had told her this was the proper place to go. But the signs she'd been told to look for weren't there anymore. Could it have moved? Could this place be a completely different shop now?

It was a strong concern for the girl but she looked up at the sign again, reading it once more. Dragon Scales Smithing. That title certainly sounded like a weapons shop, all right. So maybe... it just had a makeover. Like a lot of places did. That wasn't so bad, she supposed. In any case, she had a goal to attend to and she needed to take care of it right away lest she lost her nerve or ran out of time. Because she needed a weapon. If there was one thing getting lost in a dangerous forest where horrible creatures lurked taught her, it was that she needed to be able to protect herself.

So after another long pause, Kioni shook her head and entered. Once the girl was inside, she took a sudden intake of air, staring at the scenery. So this was what a weapon shop looked like? Well, she supposed she couldn't have expected it to look all bright and cheery, could she? But the owl was very majestic... in a dark sort of way. Her eyes scanned the weapons and she frowned. The majority of the equipment here she either had no experience in whatsoever... or had never seen it before in her life. That was very unfortunate. How on earth was she supposed to get a good one! She might as wel not buy one at all!

Kioni sighed miserably as she went from axes and bow and arrows. She really wanted to try the bow and arrows but the last thing she used one, the string snapped and the arrow didn't even go anywhere. Then finally, she stopped and landed on the knives and daggers. Daggers. Kioni could wield one of those well enough. Plus, it certainly beat having no weapon at all.

I wonder if this is anything like Piper's Shop...

Upon discovering a stack of forms, Kioni realized it was. Thus, she walked over and picked up a form. She knew what she was after this time so there was no thinking to be done. Not much anyway.

Name: Kioni Levenworth
Item: 2 Daggers/Iron
Cost: $80 + $80 = $160

The Dracovari girl gave the form a once over then satsified, she placed it down and turned around, stopping before she got to the door. Kioni really didn't have anything else to do. Not really. So maybe she'd wait and make sure the owner got her order.

Spirit didn't like people. He didn't even like Zephyr that much, but the man was his main source of food and even animals were capable of recognizing the importance of caregivers. Besides, Spirit could tolerate the man because he was not obsessive about touching or being near the owl. The 'Varian man pretty much let his barn owl do as he pleased, and in return the owl made a good companion for him. Especially as a flying doorbell. Ever since the man had ripped the little bell off of his door, he depended more on his feathered pet as a watch dog of sorts, and Spirit was never one to let him down.

Hearing the squawks of his pet as another customer entered the store, Zephyr grunted quietly and plunged the red hot piece of metal he was working on into the bucket of water on the ground. Allowing the large puffs of steam to subside, the blacksmith set his tools down and headed to the front room. Eying the girl near the door Zephyr quickly looked her over and assessed whether or not she was a threat or not.

She had no wings, fang or horns, but what she did have were the pale eyes of a young Dracovarian. Judging by her small frame and soft features she was likely still in her mid to early second century. Zephyr guessed around 140 years of age. The color of her eyes also gave away that she had yet to choose her sept. Perhaps she was doing research to find out which one interested her most. If that was the case, though, Zephyr was likely the worst representation of his sept she could have found--not that he'd admit that to anyone.

"How can I help you?" he said as he stepped fully into the shop and leaned forwards to place his hands on the counter before him.

The owner had taken his time getting there, at least in Kioni's opinion. Then again, she wasn't the most patient person in the world. She started to think it would be best if she left because maybe he was incredibly busy and all of that jazz. But before she could truly make a decision, the man in question stepped inside. Actually he really startled her as she didn't even hear him enter and hoped he didn't hear her squeak or anything embarrassing. Because she was sure she squeaked. Kioni didn't really hear the sound come out but she was pretty sure she squeaked.

As Kioni tried to recover, the man's appearance nearly made her gawk. He was a Dracovarian! She was very flustered all of a sudden. It wasn't like she hadn't seen other Dracovarians around many, many times. Hell, she grew up around them! In fact, sometimes she thought it was weird to go through an entire week or so without at least spying one. But... this was all before she became intent on finding her chosen person... Now every time she saw one, especially a male, Kioni just didn't know what to do with herself.

Realizing she was staring and that she hadn't even answered is question, Kioni blinked rapidly, blushed furiously and let her eyes aim down. Spotting the form she put down, Kioni scooped it up, hesitated then slipped over and placed the paper in front of him.

"Um... I was just leaving but... I wanted to make sure you got my order. For the weapons I'd like to purchase." Pausing, she scooted it up a little more.

Zeph resisted the urge to roll his eyes. Why was it people always stared at him? Was it his tattoos or something? Whatever it was it was sorely annoying and the primary reason why he'd begun to almost abuse the intimidation tactic of glaring that he'd learned in training. Speaking of training, that teacher in Nirim was probably beginning to wonder where he was. It had been what, 6 or 7 months since he'd last visited the place. Maybe the old man even thought he was dead. That'd be rather lucky, actually. He hated that gasbag almost as much as he hated his father... Almost.

Glancing at the form the stuttering little 'Vari pushed forward, one of Zephyr's eyebrows arched. Why hadn't she just gotten a pair and left her money, then? Oh yea, he was out of stock. He'd been gone from his shop-turned home for almost 3 weeks due to that lovely little bell Xanth had installed in his door. He just couldn't take that noise anymore after the first day and he packed his things and left. Thankfully by the time he'd begun to run out of supplies out in the wilderness of the foothills the bell had either been stolen or had just disappeared. He'd doubted it'd been stolen, though, as he had tried to rip it down many times and had quite near ripped the door off it's hinges in the process.

Sighing a bit begrudgingly, Zephyr walked out past the counter and found a set of Iron Daggers. They had silver metal work in them, and the hilt had emeralds set into it, but they'd have to do. "Here," he said as he walked back over and dropped the pair on the counter. "Now you can go." He finished, trying to keep himself from glaring the girl into oblivion. Maybe Xanth was right, perhaps he should find a shop assistant.

((OOC: Hey Dinique, sorry I took so long X.x I feel really bad. The daggers are just going to cost the normal price, Zeph's not charging extra for them. ^_^ Also, if you'd like them to look a bit different than I've described, feel free to PM me.))
