After leaving the market place with her new treasure, Kisei retreated back to the safety of the Temple. Dealing with vampires was not something that she wished to do on a daily basis... especially at her lvl. Opening the large oak doors, she slowly made her way in, letting her eyes adjust to the dim lighting. With one hand holding the jem on her Kiril Necklace, she set out to see just what was in this place that she called 'home'.

'Maybe if I'm lucky, I'll run into Kiril... '

Kisei passed many doors, all of them had no clues as to what was held inside. However, there was one at the end of the main hall way that was slightly ajar, and Kisei decided to look into it further. The door was made of black iron and it was twisted in a very complicated pattern. The sudden brightness coming from the other side caused Kisei to squint and she soon realized that she was looking outside again. She had stumbled onto the Garden.

Quote

A beastly-looking gargoyle statue sits at the side of the large hallway. It's rather alone, really, with no other gargoyles around it. But it's not always alone. Smoke slowly fills the space beside the gargoyle. It should spread in the room, but doesn't. Instead, the ball of smoke becomes denser and denser. As the inky blackness begins to disappear, a demon steps into the main hall.

He looked around and smelled something he hadn't smelled for a long time---a weakling demon---one that he hadn't met, that is. As he approached the garden, he wondered what kind of entrance he should make. Shall he startle the weakling or make him(or her) feel right at home?

Deciding to do both, Kiril lit a flame. The minor fireball circled around his pointer finger, gradually growing larger as he walked past the black iron door. With a fwoosh, the medium-sized fireball was launched from his hand and directed at the space right next to the demoness's head. "Welcome to the Temple."

Quote

Everything was so quiet in the Garden. The sound of the wind, the smell of the plants, the whooshing sound...

'Wait, whooshing sound?'

Kisei had only a moment to dwell on the thought before a fireball went flying right past her head, crashing into the wall in front of her. She stared at the damaged wide-eyed. 'Now that was unexpected'

But a voice tore her away from the wreckage of the wall.

"Welcome to the Temple." The male voice floated from somewhere behind her. 'So someone threw that at me! What the heck! If I were a higher level I'd... *sigh* but none of that now. First to face my "welcomer"'

Kisei slowly turned on her heel and if at all possible, her eyes grew even wider. Of all demons to be standing before her... it was Kiril. It only took her a split second to realize that she probably looked like an idiot, gawking at him like that, so she tried to regain some of her composure and smirked at him.

"Why thank you, Lord Kiril" she said with a small bow.

Quote

The demon smirked. The look on the demoness's face was the most common reaction he received (next to the icy glare of course...but those glares usually disappeared when their makers realized who he was).

"Why thank you, Lord Kiril" she said with a small bow.

Oooh. Lord. He liked being addressed like that. Even though he knew he was better than any of those lords(and lady) in The Shrine Room. Keeping his distance from her, Kiril entered the garden. Mind you, he wasn't afraid of her, but he wished to avoid her smell. As he circled around her to see the damage he'd made, he commented, "The shade of your eyecolor is stunning." A few compliments---for her and himself---should make her feel at home. "I suppose you're new here?"

Quote

Kisei kept her eyes on the other demon and he began to move into the garden. You could never be to careful. However she noticed that he only came in so far and for a moment she was about to ask why when it hit her.... darn her low level.

"The shade of your eyecolor is stunning."

Again her eyes widened a little. 'Was that a compliment??' In her mind she did a little happy dance but it was inturrupted when he asked her something that required an actual responce.

"I suppose you're new here?"

She nodded to him. 'This must be his way of trying to make conversation... but what else can I say without looking like an idiot?' she thought to herself. 'Come on Kisei... think, think...don't say something dumb!'

"Yes actually... This temple is quite nice." "*mental slap* that was something dumb!!' Kisei wasn't sure why she was acting this way... it was quite out of character for her.

Quote

"Yes actually...this temple is quite nice."
Acting the gracious host, he nodded. "Then enjoy." He knew that that statement was over-stretched. The interior of The Dark Temple was exactly the way it was described---dark. Not only was it dimly lit, but it was also littered with cobwebs. Most weaker demons were bound to their respective lords, who only cared if the Shrine Room was clean. And he wasn't about to clean the place. He had much better things to do---like freeing imp dragons.

His sharp teeth gleamed in the sunlight as he remembered the scene back in a certain Deity Giftshop. "I'm a bit disappointed of you." He'd let her guess what he'd meant...and he'd enjoy her perplexed reaction as she tried.

Quote

"Then enjoy."

... enjoy? I wonder what there is around here that I can enjoy besides this garden and the occasional bumping into Lord Kirl? Kisei simply nodded again but began to feel uneasy as a moment of silence passed betweent the two. She noticed him smirk and her uneasyness only increased.

"I'm a bit disappointed of you."

Almost immediately a quizical look found it's way onto her face. Disappointed? What did I do? Can he sence just how inexperienced I am? Or maybe he thought that I would be a better conversationalist? Oh, I hope it isn't the fact that he's disappointed in the fact that he thinks I'm weak for admiring him so much that I went to buy a necklace and left with a promise to come back for the ring! *gasp* He must think I'm a stalker!!!! o_O

While all this frenzy was going on in Kisei's mind, on the outside she was very calm and collect. "I'm afraid I don't know what you mean." she responded simply, her mind still going a mile a minute with worry.

please don't let him hate me

Quote

The amused demon kept his attention on the demoness, enjoying the quizzical look displayed on her face. After a moment which he supposed included a lot of thinking, the demonness said,

"I'm afraid I don't know what you mean."

Not noticing the necklace, Kiril responded, "I happened to be looking through the window of the Deity Shop when I first saw you. You could have attempted to catch certain imp dragon when a vampire dissuaded you from doing so." He made his way back to the entrance of the garden, saying lightly, "Demons should have stronger wills."

The path of the demon is a difficult one. Most demons initially seek to become the highest levels, but throw away their dreams when they bump into their demon lords. Being enslaved to a lord means hours of labor and limited chances of obtaining experience. It was no wonder that most weak-hearted demons fail to level past the low levels.

Quote

"I happened to be looking through the window of the Deity Shop when I first saw you. You could have attempted to catch certain imp dragon when a vampire dissuaded you from doing so."

Imp.... dragon?... OH! But wait.... I lack any experience at all... there's no way I would have been able to catch it... right? But either way, I wasn't about to go wrecking everything in the shop just to catch him... I wouldn't have had the money to pay for it all.

"Demons should have stronger wills."

Kisei's breath hitched in her chest as she went rigid, her eyes growing dark. Stronger wills?... I have quite a strong will! But brain over brawn sometimes is better! I can't believe he would say that!

"Wait." She called out to him, her voise loud and stern but not yelling. "Demons should have stronger wills you say? That's a bold statement comming from someone who watched from outside. Me not catching that imp had nothing to do with that vampire! I have a stronger will than you think!

By now her arms had started shaking a little with anger. How dare he accuse her of such a thing... She dreamed of one day being a powerful demon, one that would be worthy of Lord Kiril's time... but to have him so accuse her of being weak-willed when he had only just met her... well let's just say she wasn't taking it well.

Quote

"I have a stronger will than you think!"

After Kisei's brief tirade, Kiril turned and grinned wickedly. He was the top demon, an aide of Xanth, and know to be fickle. She knew that and still talked back at him. Most weaklings would have accepted his statement and gone 'Yes, Lord Kiril. I'll improve, Lord Kiril.' Fine. This demoness might just make it to the top. She was fiery enough. With some amusement, he looked at the furious girl and said, "Well then. Prove it. Become a strong demon."

This time, his smile was sincere. It was a long time since a demon last became a lord.
Dazadi."Well, if you'll excuse me, I have things to do."
Exiting the garden, he ended this encounter with a wave.

"Well then. Prove it. Become a strong demon."

Kiril's grin made Kisei a little uneasy... with her adrenalin starting to subside... she wondered just what in Xanth's name had made her scold an Aide. She must have a secret death wish or something. But as she continued to look at him, she noticed that smirk turned into a real smile and it made her cheeks go a little pink.

"Well, if you'll excuse me, I have things to do."
Kiril turned to exit the garden with a wave of his hand and Kisei smiled at his retreating form. You just wait Lord Kiril. I will become a powerful demon if my name isn't... oh wait!!! I never told him my name!

Hopeing to catch him before he was out of ear shot she said loudly (maybe a little too loudly). "Kisei!"

Quote

"Kisei!"
Halting for a second, he paused to hear her say more. Then he realized that she had not said "Kiril". That fame as an aide was getting to his overly large ego. Kisei, eh? He supposed it was her name. Showing no other signs that he'd heard her, Kiril committed the name to his memory.

Since when did he begin to remember any weakling's name? If she had said that to him in the past, Kiril would have scoffed and set her on fire for even looking at him, pompous demon that he was. He supposed that the task of aiding Xanth and watching over Elysians was influencing him. Curse his newly-found affability.

She was just a weakling, but she may become something one day, he reasoned as he disappeared in smoke.

Many Days Later

Quote

After her encounter with Lord Kiril, Kisei had gone straight to the scrapping ring to prove herself. While her first battle was a flop, she had won the second... and she was quite proud of it.

Now that she was a level two and had been placed under Lady Kaia, she figured it was about time to practice what little powers she had been given... and what better place to do that than in the garden.

So here she was, in the first place where she had come face to face with the one demon that could make her blush with just a glance. Heh, the wall is still damaged... she thought with a smirk. That would be a great place to try and make something new grow.

Making her way over to the semi-rubbled wall, Kisei crouched down at it's base. Putting her hands out over the rock, she closed her eyes and concentrated very hard on making some grass grow.

After a few moments she opened her eyes again... nothing. Absolutely nothing.

"This making things grow thing might be a little harder than I thought..." she said aloud to no one.

Pushing open an iron door carved with intricate patterns, he found himself in the garden. Interesting. Walking down the path to the center, he shielded his eyes, loathing the brightness of the sunbeams and the vivid colors of the plants. The flowers were alive, but he hadn't seen any gardeners, or earth demons, with the exception of the female in the scrapping room, around the temple.

He breathed deeply and crossed his arms, bored, wishing he was in the safari or on that quest to save someone he'd read about in the paper. It would be dangerous but better than this.

Kamuzai halted at a black iron door engraved with an elaborate, twisted pattern. There was something about it that sprung her interest and she shrugged, reasoning that there couldn't be anything that bad on the other side. To her surprise, it was a garden, of all things. She might've guessed wrong.

Squinting at the luminousity of the sun's rays that fell before her, she drew in a fresh breath of oxygen. Swinging her hair, she decided she disliked the brilliant colors of the flowers. It was too...cheery, but she had to agree they were beautiful. Surely there was nothing interesting about this garden, she wasn't into nature much.

Her view traveled to the center of the garden, where she spied another demon. Huh, didn't expect anybody to be here. More surprises. Since there was nothing much else to do, she crossed over to the male demon and came up behind him. She casually remarked, "Isn't this sun too bright?"

Valandil noticed that another had entered the garden. Raising a brow at her comment, he replied, "Of course, this is the dark temple." He didn't mean to sound rude, but he thought it was rather obvious and there had to be a more interesting thing to say.

Deciding to be more polite, he said, "Hey." Guess there wasn't anything interesting to say.

"Of course, this is the dark temple. Hey."

She inquisitively arched an eyebrow. He sure was an odd guy, the kind you wouldn't expect to find in a garden.

"Hey," she replied. "I'm Kamuzai. This garden is pretty nice if you think about it." She swept her arm in a gesture.

"Hey...I'm Kamuzai. This garden is pretty nice if you think about it."

"Yeah, I guess." He found it strange, but to each demon their own. Shrugging nonchalantly, he said, "Valandil." He reached out a hand and said, "How long have you been in Elysia?"

"Yeah, I guess. Valandil. How long have you been in Elysia?"

He appeared to be rather aloof. This guy was seemingly growing stranger and stranger. Kamuzai didn't wish to make a rude impression, but something about him almost...annoyed her.

"I dunno. Some time I guess, but you lose track of time here." She shrugged, continuing, "What about you?"

Guess she isn't as genial as I supposed, Valandil thought with a smirk. He pulled back his hand and crossed his arms. She seemed pretty impassive herself.

"I dunno. Some time I guess, but you lose track of time here...What about you?"

He replied, "Same." A slight frown reaching his lips, he said, "I've been here for a good time, but I never bothered to go anywhere much."

"Same. I've been here for a good time, but I never bothered to go anywhere much."

She frowned slightly. Guess he wasn't much of a talker. This was definitely stiff and awkward, and she despised these kind of situations.

"Soooo," she said. "What kind of demon element are you gonna be? I've seen an Earth one and it was pretty cool."

She smiled and continued, "I hope to be fire soon." Kamuzai looked passively to the flower garden while waiting for a reply.

"Soooo...What kind of demon element are you gonna be? I've seen an Earth one and it was pretty cool...I hope to be fire soon."

"Yeah," Valandil replied. He remembered the fist-sized rocks diving towards him at a rather swift speed, and then he knew he wasn't going to be earth. Not that he planned to ever be an earth demon, though. It just didn't suit him. That left water, fire, and wind. Water wasn't for him, either, but fire and air definitely were something he was considering. He had to give it some more thought though.

"I hope to be fire soon."

"Interesting. That means you'll be serving Lord Ea? And I haven't chosen my element yet."

"Interesting. That means you'll be serving Lord Ea? And I haven't chosen my element yet."

"That seems t'be about right." She studied him for a short moment then spontaneously grinned. The stiff, aloof impression she was recieving disturbed her and she grew a bit uncomfortable. The garden was beautiful, not her type of pretty though, yet it was pleasing. And she was standing in the midst of it and the situation appeared to be awkward, though she was confused if Valandil had noticed it.

"Have you given some thought to it yet? I mean, err, as in choosing your element and all that, err...stuff."

"Heh, yeah," Valandil said, his frown deepening. He had to think about his element and which one he was going to choose, but that seemed...so far off, and yet with every second passing he knew that it was growing closer. He'd thought about the fire element and wind, and which one would benefit him more in the future. But seeing as he nearly failed school, he still had to be smart about his decision.

Not about to spill out the tense debate inside of him to this stranger named Kamuzai, he continued vaguely, "Hovering between two, if you know what I mean." Cocking an eyebrow, he decided he better stir up some fun, siince he hadn't done that in a while. And the fact that the subject of elements made him anxious. With a mocking tone and a challenging stare, he remarked to Kamuzai, "You look lovely in that black dress."

"Heh, yeah, hovering between two, if you know what I mean."

She nodded silently, mystified with him. She didn't mind, but standing here quietly distressed her. The faint breeze waved the flower petals very slightly, while the light shone cheerfully on the garden. It just seemed too quiet.

"You look lovely in that black dress."

Her eyes widened in surprise. What a random comment. Kamuzai was baffled on the fact of what it really meant; as a compliment or a mockery? The stare and the teasing manner appeared to answer her question, though it mutely questioned his motives behind that remark. She never really cared for her looks and she couldn't find anything that would compel that statement. Crossing her arms, she glanced at him, slightly annoyed.

"Don't you look handsome with that skull of yours?" she snorted.

"Don't you look handsome with that skull of yours?"

It was almost certain that she would meet his comment with one of her own. She definitely seemed the type, smirking and snorting and all. He wasn't much of the sort, but he did have his times and he did have his fun, which in this case, meant taunting a woman. But she seemed tough enough, so he didn't feel any guilt.

Ignoring her question, he retorted, "Your hair is styled quite fashionably."

After several hours wandering inside the Temple, without even spotting another creature, Lydia found herself in front of a black iron door, with a curious and complicated pattern. For the very first time, she was feeling scared. A so different door would probably lead her into a very special place. Her stomach got cold as she touched the door, willing to open it. The door was heavy enough to make her use a little bit of her almost unexistent strenght. A pinkinsh light came from the "room" as Lydia walked into it, seeing herself in a big Garden.
The sunset made the light turn into a pink color in a way that she found beautiful. Walking through the garden, she sat on the grass and slowly let her back touch the ground too. I just don't know what to do..., she thought, finally feeling the comfort of a real home. I can't wait until I have a real strenght..., she thought again. She sighed, hoping for something exciting and new.

((Olisa played by Joy))
A small figure rests on a large branch of a willow. She swings her legs idly as she hums a soft tune. The strands of leaves around her sway with her tune until the large iron doors creak. The pale haired girl gasps. Her song is cut short and she scurries closer to the center of the tree, willing the leaves to block her from anybody's view. But if it were Kaia...

Instead, the newcomer is a red haired girl. As the stranger takes a seat, Olisa curiously leans toward the ends of the branch to get a closer look. The brittle wood snaps and gravity thrusts the girl toward the floor. She squeaks, then sighs in relief as wind collects below her and cushions her fall.

((OOC: I didn't really get what's going on, so if I said something stupid, poke me please oO))

After a few seconds laid on the floor, a sudden sound came from a tree next to her. Looked like an animal falling from the tree, but the sound of the "animal" hitting the floor just didn't happen. Lydia looked at the tree and saw another demoness, obviously who fell from the tree. Lydia stood up, scared. What's going on here?!, she said to the pale haired girl.

Getting to her feet as the startled stranger spoke to her, Olisa felt the urge to shrink towards the willow and run away. But that would be unseemly. Straightening her stance, she forced a weak smile and said, "I lost my balance...I guess..."

Few people ever entered the gardens. It was horribly tiny and bland when compared to the maze outside the temple. Yet it had a quality that drew Olisa to it everyday. Fixing her eyes toward the ground, she nervously touched her necklace and asked, "I haven't seen you around here...who are you?"

She instantly regretted her words. Who was she to poke into other people's businesses? And why should she care? Besides, most demons would sneer and say, 'What's it to you?'...

((OOC: Oh, Olisa manipulated the air to cushion her fall. ;)))

A knot inside Lydia's throat started to get bigge. Bigger and bigger. What the..., she thought. Her stomach rolling and rolling. She could vomit there, right now, but she didn't eally want to do that in front of the very first person she... Well, "met". She fixed her eyes on the other girl's eyes, and swallowed, hard enough to be heard. Ehh... I guess I'm..., she began to talk. I guess not, I KNOW who I am!, she thought, but procceed. I'm... Lydia. I mean... That's my name. I'm... New around... Around here., she said, almost everything in a single word. Stop it, stop it now! You're being stupid!, the little voice in her mind screamed. Strange how those little voices always have the same voice as you. But they're always... More irritating. And frequently, they don't agree with you. Lydia's mind was taveling far, far away. She shook her head like trying to wake up, and kept on with the coversation. And you... Who are you?!, she almost spit those words on the girl. Her emotions were almost incontrolable, she knew it.
