[d=crimson]Continued from A Nymph in Speed:[/d]

Piper was surprised by Naava's response. She'd never met anyone who was suffering from amnesia before, and it was kind of weird to meet one now. Part of her wanted to ask why the healers couldn't help her get her memory back, when Dora had been able to bring her back from the dead, but really, what did she know? There were any number of things that could cause amnesia, but she couldn't help the disappointment she felt. She'd kind of hoped Naava would be able to tell her if Dora was okay, and would have liked to have a connection to an old friend through a new one.

She didn't linger on the thought for long, though, and was just happy to make friends, although she was still having concerns about Naava's ability to help. Especially now she knew for sure the girl was at a serious disadvantage - though not any greater disadvantage than anyone new to Elysia, she supposed.

Hearing Kioni's cry and aware the girl was following now, Piper picked up her pace a little. Nothing too drastic so they couldn't keep up, just enough to show she really meant business about needing to hurry. "I told them we'd meet them at the portal, but they're probably there by now." As far as she knew, they'd be going there straight from the hospital, so unless there were complications with Vyon's treatment, she didn't imagine it would take them long. It wasn't like they'd have to hang around waiting for the doctor, either, since he'd already responded before Piper left. In fact, she honestly expected to get to the portal to find they'd left without her and the supplies Vyon had requested.

Glancing at Naava's cheefle as the plaza came into view, she worried her bottom lip and she frowned. "Is there anywhere you can leave him? Only... we'll be heading out to the forest as soon as we've met up and have everything, so..." She trailed off, not wanting to sound judgemental or anything. Maybe Naava had a trick or two up her sleeve but it didn't seem like it, judging by the cheefle's wayward behaviour earlier. Piper might have offered to let her put the cheefle in her shop, except with Comet and Fawn there, she really didn't think the cheefle would be anything but doggy food when they got back, not to mention the natural reluctance to have some strange and apparently badly-behaved creature unattended in her shop.

Besides, the boutique was back the way they'd come.

Kioni noticed how Piper picked up the pace a little and frowned. Gosh, had she really taken that long? The girl could have said something! I get it, I get it! I'm hurrying already!
Deciding walking wasn't just cutting it anymore, Kioni took off running until she found herself next to Piper. After that, she slowed herself down and took a deep breath. Whew! Now maybe she could pace herself a little. Listening to Piper's words, Kioni nodded. So that was why the girl was in such a hurry. Now that made sense. No way would anyone wanna keep someone waiting. Just thinking about it made Kioni feel somewhat guilty that she'd been hindering everyone like she did.

Gripping her bags tighter to herself, Kioni continued to move only vaguely aware of Piper's question to Naava.

Piper came to a half a few feet from the portal at the centre of the plaza. She should have been breathless, really, she actually couldn't remember the last time that had happened from walking fast. Probably when she was human...

Glancing around, Piper strained on her tiptoes to look for Vyon and his companions, hoping they'd waited. She kept trying to tell herself they wouldn't leave without the weapons she'd promised, but in all truth she barely knew Vyon, and didn't know Cal all that well either. She may have put them both on pedestals, Cal especially, the first time she'd met them so long ago, but she had enough common sense to acknowledge how tenuous their relationships were.

"Can you see them?" she asked worriedly, still glancing about and shuffling on her the balls of her feet in an effort to see over the taller heads of the people passing through the square. "God, I hope they haven't gone through yet. We'll never find them out there."

Cal surged towards a warm updraft with a great sweep of his wings & then settled into a tight spiral upwards inside the stream of air. He scanned the city below, orienting himself for the glide back down to Le Bon. In the air, the confusion of the streets below dissolved. A smooth, straight path to his destination presented itself, and he set himself in a long shallow glide across the city. He hadn’t been flying for so long as to become inured to the joy of it. He felt light and free in the air, even if he’d been taxing his wings with a far more strenuous flight than this one. All too soon, he was landing out the back of the café & hotel – The back so his less-than-graceful landing wasn’t seen by all and sundry. The square out front was far too popular for Cal to feel comfortable showing off his beginner landings. He might not still be at the stage of risking major injury every time he set down, but nor was it capable of making it all look easy the way his elders did.

He walked quickly around the building and inside, taking the side entrance available to residents of the upper floors rather than the front entrance through the café, and pelted up the stairs two at a time to the first floor bunk room he currently called home. He grabbed his battered pack off a shelf and tipped it upside down, scattering the contents over the bed. He could have used one of the shared drawers, but he’d been just as happy leaving most of his belongings in his pack. The few more precious, more valuable (even if only to him) possessions he owned he kept back at the pet sanctuary rather than in the bunk room, so there was nothing to worry about damaging with this rough handling. He sorted quickly through the mess of his upended belongings, forming two rough piles on the bed.

At the foot – a change of clothes for Vyon, including something warmer in case they were outdoors for a little while. The weather was hardly settled at this time of year. With that thought, he threw some warmer clothes on the pile for himself, as well. The rest of his clothes went in a heap on the pillow. He hesitated over his basic outdoors survival gear for a few moments, wondering if it just make his pack foolishly heavy, and then decided to err on the side of preparedness. He was fairly used to carrying it all at this point, anyway… he’d just pack it at the bottom, and if he didn’t need it, that was fine, but not being able to light a fire or cook a meal could be more than merely inconvenient out in the wilds. His enormous cloak, his canteen & his stash of the kind of crunchy trail food he’d got used to snacking on topped off the pile to take with him. Not anything like real food, but flying took a lot of energy – energy rich snacks like those would help him recover faster. The pile he’d assembled looked strangely small without most of his clothes and without the sort of supplies he’d been used to carrying in the outback of Australia. He frowned at it all, but packed it quickly and efficiently, leaving the change of clothes for Vyon uppermost, and arranging his own warmer clothes so they could cushion whatever Vyon had collected back at the herbalist’s. The rest of his gear he scooped in one motion into the previously scorned drawer.

He balanced his pack precisely so it wouldn’t interfere with his wings, stopped in the bathroom for a moment to fill his canteen with fresh water, and then raced back down the stairs with the kind of recklessness only those with wings to balance them could pull off. He was back into the air as soon as he had sufficient momentum to get airborne. No lucky updraft appeared to assist him this time, but it was a shorter flight back to the portal than it had been from the shop back to Le Bon. He strove upwards and a little in the general direction of the little park by the portal where he’d been when all this had started, until he gained enough height to spot the portal and could fly in that direction more confidently. Unfortunately for his sense of dignity and appearances, when he was close enough to the portal to make out a landing spot, he could also see that Piper had beaten him there. He spiralled down gently into the little square, doing his best to aim for a graceful landing... And therefore, of course, stumbled on landing and barely caught himself before he turned his ankle. censored. Still, at least he hadn't actually hurt himself. He dusted himself off, and walked over to greet Piper, a rueful smile on his lips.

Piper chewed on her bottom lip, shuffling from foot to foot as she glanced around in the hopes of spotting Vyon or Cal or the girl who'd stayed with them. For every second that passed, she felt like she'd been standing there an hour, and she kept checking her watch expecting more time to have passed than actually had. She was almost fully convinced that the other group had already gone through and that they were just wasting their time standing around waiting, but she couldn't quite bring herself to suggest they should continue on already and try to catch up, just in case she was wrong.

She checked her watch again for probably the hundredth time, frowning at the little second hand that had barely moved since her last check, and wondered if she should check her cell phone. Maybe something was making her watch not work properly. Except then, as she considered plucking her phone from her belt to do so, she had another thought - why didn't she just call Cal and check?

"Piper, you're an idiot," she muttered to herself, glancing apologetically at the others and blushing. They probably thought she was an idiot anyway, dashing about the town like the devil was on her heels, but what else was new?

And then there was no time to get out her phone, because something caught her eye and she glanced up, all kinds of relieved to recognise the grey-winged Anyeli circling the plaza. "Oh, thank God. Look, they're here."

Stepping forward to meet Cal, still laden with the supplies, Piper smiled, a little shy but mostly glad to see him. Bobbing on her tiptoes, she tried to catch a glimpse of Vyon or Isabel, frowning as she slowly realised they weren't with him. "Um... what happened? Is everything okay?"

Naava half ran, half walked and half pulled on Flit's lead (wait, that's three halves...) as she tried to follow and stay near to Piper. The girl was really picking up speed and even though Naava was faster-than-your-average-bear she was having a bit of trouble staying next to the girl. Finally the group reached the portal area and Naava breathed a heavy gasp of relief before even attempting to respond to Piper's inquisition.

"I... I don't really have anywhere to leave her..." Naava said as she bent down to pick up the creature. "But as long as I keep her leash pinned to me like this, she shouldn't be able to get away or cause any trouble." the Anyelos said, trying to prove that she could still be useful on this trip. "She's not a bad girl... she just likes to move a lot..." Naava continued to ramble on before realizing that she was mostly talking to herself as Piper looked about frantically for whoever they were supposed to be meeting.

After a bit the girl stopped freaking out, though, as it seemed one of them showed up. Oh and he was cute, too, and an Anyelos at that. His wings were grey, though, which seemed a bit odd to her as he didn't appear to be young enough to still be a fledgling. The thought didn't even occur to her that someone would decide to not pick a faction. Not that she really remembered much about picking hers, if anything at all, but she assumed that all Anyeli children picked one once they finally came of age. Perhaps this man was just a lot younger than he appeared. Still, Naava didn't know the situation so she stayed in her semi-squatting position silently as she moved her hands and arms about absent-mindedly to keep Flit busy with running about her body.

"Um... what happened? Is everything okay?"

Piper looked worried so Cal hastened to reassure her with a gentle smile. "Vyon's fine. He should be here soon. I went on ahead to grab him a change of clothing. I'm sure they couldn't have been much longer in the shop." Cal belatedly realised that Piper had left the medical clinic before Vyon had emerged from the treatment area. He flushed a little and continued, "Er, that is, one of the doctors sent Vyon to a herbalist for medicine to help his friend. He and Isabel were going to meet us here once they had finished buying the ingredients."

Cal looked around the area briefly and noticed the other girl that had been helping Vyon at the portal. Even though he hadn't caught her name he smiled at her in gratitude for her willingness to help his friend. There was a Skodati girl waiting at the portal as well but Cal wasn't certain if she was with Piper or not, and he turned his attention quickly back to Piper.

Piper's shoulders visibly sagged with relief when Cal said Vyon was okay, at which point she realised she'd been half afraid there'd be some kind of complication with his relatively minor injuries that would kill him. She'd been so wrapped up in not being left behind that she'd shoved everything else out of her mind, but obviously her subconscious had refused to play along.

The skin between her eyebrows wrinkled with confusion as Cal mentioned something about a shop. The frown was quickly replaced by fascination as the Anyelos blushed in the most charming manner, causing her to almost miss the explanation he gave. "Oh. Okay, well... Um." Not quite sure what to say in response, she glanced around vaguely, her gaze fixing on Naava almost by accident.

"Oh!" It was Piper's turn to blush as she realised she'd been rude and not introduced the two. "Cal, this is, um, Naava. Naava, this is Calanthiel, he's..." She made an odd gesture with her supply-laden hands that lifted her shoulders slightly, but didn't manage to complete the sentence since she wasn't really sure how to introduce him in a situation like this. "A friend", though true, seemed less important in these circumstances than "he's here to help", but also seemed completely disloyal somehow, so she got caught up by an internal debate and then it just seemed easier not to finish the sentence anyway.

Shifting her grip on the bags of supplies, she did another sweep for Vyon and Isabel, biting her lip. "Are you sure they haven't already gone through?" If they'd stopped off somewhere for other supplies, then there was a really good chance she and Naava had beaten them to the portal, but she still couldn't help but worry. At the same time... this might be a good chance to help Naava with her burden. "Hey, Naava, um. Cal owns a - do you have space?" This to Cal as she shifted her grip on the bags again. "I mean, she has a... a..." She couldn't remember what the odd little creature was called, but gestured with her chin at the cheefle that was scampering happily over Naava's body. "A pet that, well. I just thought maybe if you could? Do you have a spare cage or something at the, the - " farm, pet shop, zoo " - sanctuary?"

"Cal, this is, um, Naava. Naava, this is Calanthiel, he's..."

It would have been nice to know what word Piper had been about to use to describe him before she'd substituted a gesture that Cal really couldn't read. At the same time as he was politely smiling at the pretty skotadi, it was very hard not to start mentally cataloguing possible adjectives. Weird, Wonderful, Unable to manage simple landings, prone to random disappearances... He cut off the mental stream, and made himself pay attention to what Piper was saying.

"Are you sure they haven't already gone through?"

Cal hesitated to answer - he was pretty sure Vyon would want the clothing Cal was carrying, and the supplies that Piper was laden down with. He was even more sure that flying across town was a lot faster than walking. But, well, Vyon had a stubborn streak, and Cal might have known him well enough to call him a friend, but he didn't know him well enough to be utterly certain of what Vyon would or would not do. Cal shrugged gently, a soft roll of his shoulders that brushed his wingtips rustling across the paving.

"I don't think Vyon would have gone through without us. He really did want the supplies you're carrying, so he wouldn't have gone without them."

He felt more confident just saying that. It made sense, at least. He focused again on Piper, this time a smile tugging at his mouth in amusement at the convoluted way she got around to asking if the sanctuary had room for a cheefle. It did, of course, but he didn't really see any reason why the little thing couldn't come along with them - it might not exactly be useful, but he couldn't see how it could be a hindrance either, and being separated from their owner was stressful for any pet. Besides all which... if Naava was coming with them, then they really didn't have time to be dashing off to the Sanctuary and back. Vyon really would leave without them!

"Of course," he smiled at both Piper and Naava, very little of his thought process showing on his face, "if that's what Naava wants, her pet would be welcome to board a little while."

He stepped slowly and cautiously towards Naava, over to where he could get a closer look at her Cheefle, trying not to startle it. Cheefles did not, as a rule, take kindly to sudden movements of strangers towards them. Shy wee beasties. He crouched to match Naava's semi-squatting position, and smiled at her.

"What's your pet's name?"

Well, that was convenient. This friend of Piper's, at least Naava assumed they were friends, very good friends at that, had an animal shelter-er, sanctuary? He seemed nice enough, but still maybe he'd know a way for her to be able to keep Flit with her? She didn't want her poor little pet to wreak any havoc on this nice gentleman's place while she was gone and, despite appearances, Flit could really destroy a place if she wanted to. It seemed as if they were really going to need all the help they could get, and if Piper was worried that this 'Vyon' guy had already been and gone, then they really had no time to waste flitting about like children this way and that.

"Her name's Flit..." Naava said, a bit shyly as the man stooped down to her. He was cute. Not unbearably gorgeous or anything, but he had a sort of nice-guy vibe going on and his face was kind. No wonder that Piper girl seemed to like him so much. "Is there any... Any way she could come with us? I mean, she doesn't need to or anything, but I just think if we're really worried about this guy leaving without us we should be here to make sure he doesn't." Naava said as she managed to gently grab Flit with one hand between her wings and one cupping her body. The Cheefle squirmed a bit in protest but didn't bite her or anything.

Moving to stand up as her leg started to try and cramp on her, Naava smiled a bit of an embarrassed smile at Cal who had just crouched down to her. "Besides... do you thing we should try and get more help, if we can? You seemed to need it earlier and it's not exactly like you've got an army or something..."

Piper was relieved when Cal suggested they'd beaten Vyon to the portal. There was a chance he was wrong, of course, but she really doubted it. His shrug probably should have made her dubious, but Cal always seemed to know what he was talking about and she trusted his judgement, so her shoulders immediately sagged as the tension of the last few minutes drained slightly.

She was only half listening to his chat with Naava, more focused on trying to stretch and contort her body into vaguely unnatural shapes in an effort to see over the crowd and spot Isabel and Vyon as they arrived. The cheefle's name actually registered this time, though, and she thought it an adorably apropos name for the odd creature which seemed to think it was running over hot coals.

What Naava said about not wasting time registered, as well, somewhere in the back of her mind. Hadn't she been rushing them along for that same reason, and yet there she'd been, suggesting Cal toddle off. She'd figured he could get there and back quickly, more accustomed to Dazadi's "there one second, gone the next" and forgetting that Cal was - judging by the colour of his wings, something she'd only recently begun to pay attention to - much younger.

Oops.

Her cell phone rang. She almost ignored it, glancing at Cal and Naava with a frown. Answering it seemed inappropriate, somehow, but the only people who ever really bothered to call were related to the boutique and she really couldn't afford to annoy them. It was probably just a supplier confirming something anyway...

"Um. I'll... just be a second." Setting the bags down, she unclipped the phone from her belt, fretting at her bottom lip as she recognised the ID. "Oh god, it's the alarm company." She'd upgraded the system after the last attack, figuring it was cheaper than having to make those expensive repairs and convinced Kaida would come after her again, so she received a message whenever the alarm went off. She'd never actually received one of those messages before, and her heart thudded painfully in her chest now as she saw it now.

Was this Kaida or just burglars? Were her pets up to no good, or in danger? She'd left them under the cash desk like she'd done a dozen times before, but they weren't used to her being gone so long. They were normally so well behaved she didn't even think about it. And she'd been willing to leave for God knew how long without even making any provisions for them, figuring the food and water already laid out would be enough. Oh, God, what was she thinking?!

Staring at Cal with wide eyes, her mouth worked like a fish for a second. She was torn between going back to the shop to make sure things weren't going to hell in a handbasket, and her promise to help Vyon rescue his friend. But it wasn't just her, right? There was Cal and Naava and Isabel... and she could try to hurry back. And she could take Flit off Naava's hands!

Squeezing her eyes shut for a second, she popped them open to stare apologetically at Cal. "It's the alarm, the alarm's going off at the boutique. I left Fawn and Comet there. I have to... But I'll hurry back, and maybe I can catch up." She knew that wasn't going to be possible. Once they passed through the portal, that was it.

"I can take Flit with me." This was directed at Naava. "If you like." And wincing, because it sounded like she didn't even plan to try catching up. "I'm in the book - Piper's Boutique. Just pop by when you're ready to pick her up." By this point she was on the verge of tears, laden with guilt and trying to justify the fact that she'd weighed her own needs against Vyon's and decided her pets needed her more. She really wished she had someone to call to deal with all this for her, and she'd never felt the lack of friends - Cal and Vyon not included since they were right there with her - more than she did in that moment.

Finally the portal was in sight, a small group of people scattered around it. Vyon shrugged the bag of ingredients over his shoulder and quickened his pace, hoping Isabel would follow.

It had been nice talking to Isabel on there way back but now he was desperate to get back to the forest. New Alexandria was nice, especially since it had been so long since he had been here, but it would have been nicer if he hadn’t been so preoccupied with the mission. Now he just wanted to run through the trees and get back to Chloris as fast as possible.

When he reached the others she stopped short to survey who had come to help. He would take any help he could get. He was already painfully aware that he couldn’t do this by himself.

"Hey," was about all he could manage to say as he dropped the bag of ingredients to the ground. Yeah this wasn't going to be easy.

Isabel was thankful when she caught sight of the portal. There was also someone there she had't met with Piper and Cal was able to get there before them. Excellent. Now they would be would be able to proceed through the woods. With the ingredients ready and the party assembled, she was sure they would be able to get there in time.

She quickened her pace just as Vyon did the same knowing he was already very eager to get going through the portal. She stopped right beside Cal, not even out of breath, and gave the group a smile that said, "Success!" Then as further explanation, she added, "We got all the ingredients. We need to hurry though... We don't have much time.."

Isabel gave a curious stare at the new face and offered her hand and gave her a wan smile. "I'm Isabel. It would probably be nicer if we had met under different circumstances.."

Naava waited for a response from somebody, anybody to either of her questions. This Cal guy seemed sort of slow to her though, and from the way he'd acted earlier he was probably preoccupied with Piper. Well that would be all fine and dandy except weren't they supposed to be saving someone? Sighing a bit, Naava felt her resolve to assist begin to dissolve. She knew she probably should help... but she wasn't really prepared to go, let alone prepared to do what ever it was this group was planning to do. They were supposed to go help someone, right? Suddenly it became all to apparent that Naava had gotten herself nose deep into a situation she knew nothing about with people she knew nothing about.

As Piper's phone rang, Naava began to grow more impatient with this Cal guy, hardly suppressing the urge to tap her foot. The longer she waited, though, the more nervous she'd become. What good would she be? This Cal guy seemed to be much better in the air than Naava was at the moment, and the only weapon she had at her disposal was the one little dagger. Perhaps she should reconsider her policy on not carrying her weapons around, maybe she'd bought them for perfectly innocent self-and-others defense purposes instead of the rather macabre things she'd first thought of when she'd been handed her belongings.

hearing the urgency in Piper's voice, Naava moved closer to her, subconsciously allowing Flit to climb down her leg to the ground. "The alarm? What? Is everything alright?" Naava asked, barely stopping to breath between words let alone pausing long enough to get much of a coherent response. focusing on the panicked look on Piper's face, Naava was completely oblivious to the unknown vampire who was apparently talking to her until her words were almost gone from the air. What? Circumstances? Naava wondered, not fully connecting the girl to the scenario with Piper and Calanthiel. Not fully sure if she was the intended target of the vampire's words, Naava moved more towards the more familiar, even if only slight more, vampire. "I could go with you, to make sure everything's okay..." Naava said, her eyes darting a bit warily to the stranger who'd tried to talk to her as she silently hoped Piper would give her an excuse to get out of there. Note to self, offering to assist random strangers in impromptu rescue missions is a bad idea.

Oh, God, this was great. Just perfect. As if she didn't feel bad enough about ditching them before Vyon and Isabel arrived, now she had to look them in the eye too.

Except that she couldn't, backing up step by step as if she could melt into thin air unnoticed. This was awful. She should stay. It was probably a false alarm anyway, but... what if it wasn't? She couldn't afford to take that chance. "I have to..."

She shook her head at Naava's question. No, everything wasn't alright. It was the opposite of alright. And then things were suddenly ten times worse, and her eyes widened in horror. Not because she didn't want Naava to go with her - ordinarily she'd jump at the chance to not do something alone - but because Vyon was the one who needed the help the most right now. She couldn't accept Naava's help no matter how much she wanted to, not if she ever wanted to sleep well again.

"No, I'm - I - I'll be fine, I just, I have... I'm sorry!" Close to tears and still avoiding looking at Vyon in particular, she darted into the crowd.

She actually hoped something was wrong, because otherwise, she'd never live this down.

And just like that Piper was gone. Vyon didn’t know why, but something had obviously happened. The other girl, the one that Vyon didn’t know had asked her if everything was okay. Somewhere in Vyon’s mind he registered that something had happened to a friend, that she needed help, but it was a distant part, vague and mostly unfeeling. Piper was alive, whatever it was he didn’t think she would die.

The unfeeling mind was now in control of his two-vampire prong of attack plan and was carefully, no ruthlessly, tearing it into pieces. Vyon pushed the uncaring mind away. Focus was what he needed. Isabel had the right of it. They didn’t have time.

Instead he turned to Naava, "I’m not sure why you are here or even if someone has told you what is going on, but you are here and since Piper’s gone I’m sure we could use your help."

"I’m Vyon and I’m not normally so abrupt, but we’re kinda running out of time to save someone in the Fae Forest. It’s definitely a trek and it could get quite dangerous out there. If you can help I would be grateful, but I’d rather tell you more on the way."

Vyon did his best to smile but even thinking about smiling seemed hard. While he waited for her answer he searched around for the bag of other items that Piper had collected. Spotting them he turned back to Cal.

"You manage to find that backpack?" he asked. "We got a lot to carry here."

Cal was a little disturbed to realise, as a seeming dozen things happened at once, that he was still more tired from carrying Vyon to the hospital and his flight for supplies than he'd realised. His mind couldn't quite keep up with everything that happened, as he found himself half-trying (and failing) to listen in to Piper answering her phone in case it was Vyon needing something else, and half-trying (and failing) to formulate a sensible reply to Naava. Perhaps if he'd been paying more attention to Vyon's original explanation of the problem and less the gaping wound on his leg, he would have been able to come up with an answer to whether or not they needed an army...

As it was, he was left spinning on his own axis - as he looked to Piper in concern for the distress in her voice; then Vyon and Isabel arrived and he turned to look at them; back to Naava as she moved to ask Piper what had happened; then Piper rushed away, he thought very distressed indeed... It was all too much at once for him to think what to do for a moment in his still tired state. Cal instinctively started to move after Piper, propelled by his worry for her, then realised that he couldn't go after her at all right now, before he'd moved more than two steps. Goddess. I hope it's not another disaster. He stared at her retreating form, wrapped in his own thoughts, a frown creasing his brow, for long moments before he was recalled to his surroundings by Vyon directly asking him a question.

He blinked in confusion, clearing away a dozen questions and answers hovering in his mind, before he could reply.

"Yes, of course. I grabbed a few other bits and pieces as well as the clothes for you, but there should still be plenty of space for your supplies." He put words to action as he spoke, and swung his backpack carefully down around his wings, so that they could pack the supplies, then looked up at Naava to see what she would say to Vyon's invitation, aware that he hadn't quite replied to her earlier questions, but no longer able to precisely grasp what they'd been...

Naava paused as Piper stuttered for an answer. Well, that settled it then, Obviously Naava needed to go with her. But before she could say as much the girl had rambled off something that seemed wildly incoherent to her and then ran off. "Wow that girl is fast..." Naava said, mostly to herself, as she tried to see where she'd gone. But she was already too far through the bustling city streets to be found, and though Naava new what her destination was, she didn't really know where it was. Turning back to that Cal guy, Naava was trying to decide what to say when someone else started speaking to her.

Listening to him vaguely, as he talked about rescuing someone a sudden realization hit the anyeli. Oh... he must be that "Vyon" that Piper was talking about..." she though, biting her lip a bit as she became slightly ashamed for trying to bail out. Well, now that he was here she'd feel far to guilty to not go... As "Vyon" spoke to Cal, though, something about his face seemed so familiar. "K... Keanu?" she said in a vague whisper as her memories swarmed in her mind.

"Did you find anything?" Keanu asked, looking at Naava rather helplessly as he clutched at his stomach a bit. He was so hungry, and Naava knew it. They'd eaten through the food that was still in the house two days ago, but Naava didn't have the heart to tell her brother that. "I'll go get some more food," she said, stroking his cheek gently. "Don't worry..." she said, trying to figure out exactly how she'd find them something more to eat...

Coming back to reality, Naava blinked at the trio of people who stood before her. "Yea... I'll go..." she said, practically mumbling as she pulled on the strap of her bag that went across her chest. Hearing the tail end of Cal's response, Naava set her jaw. "Well if this is so dire, why are we standing here? Let's go." she said before turning and stepping through the portal.

He still didn’t know her name, didn’t even know you she was, but Vyon was glad when Naava agreed to come. As she stepped through the portal he crouched down next to Cal to help him with the bag. Setting the ingredients next to the bag he grabbed the clothes.

Most of his cuts had been cleaned by the doctor so he wasn’t a bloody mess anymore, his clothes on the other hand weren’t up to much. He pulled the tattered shirt from his back replacing it with a couple of layers of Cal’s clothing. It was a little long for him but it would do the trick. Vyon had never really been the self conscious type, not until he became a Nymph anyway, so he didn’t really think twice about the fact that the portal plaza was one of the busier parts of the city, nor the fact that Isabel was standing right there as he quickly ripped away his pants and put on the pair Cal had brought. Again they were a little long so Vyon rolled them up at the bottom.

He helped Cal finish filling the backpack, taking a quick mental inventory of all the things they had. Vyon was pretty sure Cal would insist on carrying the backpack so he didn’t bother making a fuss over it. Instead he just said thanks as he stood up and walked through the portal calling out "Fae Forest" back to the others as he went through.

Isabel was disappointed to see Piper go. It meant that they would have lesser people to go in this mission. Not to mention scrapping the plan that Vyon made earlier about using them as baits. But at least they still had another new ally to rely on which would make up for it. She was jolted from her musings as the girl suddenly spoke with determination.

"Well if this is so dire, why are we standing here? Let's go."

Isabel watched as the girl stepped through the portal and was about to say that she would following when she found herself blushing beet red once again. Vyon started stripping, changing his clothes in the wide open! Not that he wasn't good to look at. Turning her face away, she waited as he finished dressing, heard him say "Fae Forest", then saw him went through the portal. Looking back at Cal, she gave him an encouraging smile and just as she went through the portal, shouted, "See you there!"
