Piper was surprised by Naava's response. She'd never met anyone who was suffering from amnesia before, and it was kind of weird to meet one now. Part of her wanted to ask why the healers couldn't help her get her memory back, when Dora had been able to bring her back from the dead, but really, what did she know? There were any number of things that could cause amnesia, but she couldn't help the disappointment she felt. She'd kind of hoped Naava would be able to tell her if Dora was okay, and would have liked to have a connection to an old friend through a new one.
She didn't linger on the thought for long, though, and was just happy to make friends, although she was still having concerns about Naava's ability to help. Especially now she knew for sure the girl was at a serious disadvantage - though not any greater disadvantage than anyone new to Elysia, she supposed.
Hearing Kioni's cry and aware the girl was following now, Piper picked up her pace a little. Nothing too drastic so they couldn't keep up, just enough to show she really meant business about needing to hurry. "I told them we'd meet them at the portal, but they're probably there by now." As far as she knew, they'd be going there straight from the hospital, so unless there were complications with Vyon's treatment, she didn't imagine it would take them long. It wasn't like they'd have to hang around waiting for the doctor, either, since he'd already responded before Piper left. In fact, she honestly expected to get to the portal to find they'd left without her and the supplies Vyon had requested.
Glancing at Naava's cheefle as the plaza came into view, she worried her bottom lip and she frowned. "Is there anywhere you can leave him? Only... we'll be heading out to the forest as soon as we've met up and have everything, so..." She trailed off, not wanting to sound judgemental or anything. Maybe Naava had a trick or two up her sleeve but it didn't seem like it, judging by the cheefle's wayward behaviour earlier. Piper might have offered to let her put the cheefle in her shop, except with Comet and Fawn there, she really didn't think the cheefle would be anything but doggy food when they got back, not to mention the natural reluctance to have some strange and apparently badly-behaved creature unattended in her shop.
Besides, the boutique was back the way they'd come.
