It occurred to me today that our current application system is still pretty overcomplicated - especially for me, seeing as once I've approved the profile, I have to split it from the welcome thread, move it to the Journals board, then go back and move the welcome replies at a later date. I'm thinking about simplifying this to a single step: Once the profile's been approved, just move the whole thread to the Journals board.
The reason I haven't done this in the past is that Journals are more than just profiles to some players. I, for instance, use my characters' journal threads to log thread archives, collect fanart, track relationships. That's what they were meant for, and I've been reluctant to invade that with OOC posts. However, since the retirement system was put into place, that's been happening anyway with the "character retired/reactivated" messages, so I'm currently of the opinion that it's not such a bad thing as I'd been imagining (especially as players can now organise their journals in whatever order they wish).
So, I'm interested in simplifying this system to a simple "move entire thread" option, but because of the nature of Journals, I wanted to run it past you guys first and see what you think. If you'd rather your characters' journals not have what can be several OOC notes attached, then vote NO in the poll. If you don't mind (or even would prefer not to have two separate threads involved in your welcome as we currently do), please vote YES.
(Please only vote once.)

I really dont want OOC notes in profiles. I'd prefer for the thread to be transfered, and additional OOC posts deleated off the thread. Easy as pie.

Well, deletion's not an option, I'm afraid, which is why we have the current system in place (and why I don't simply PM welcomes). For a number of reasons (the main one being my own forgetfulness), I want a record of anything said, especially if I've asked someone to make changes for whatever reason.

I'm actually with Grace on this one. I'd prefer my character Journals to be about that character, not about "Lyk omg hai welcome "
Also, after about a week or two after the last "welcome" message I think they could all stand to be deleted as well.

Though my reply here is late (sorry guyz! >.<) ... I agree with everyone else here... No OOC notes pls... The obsessive compulsive in me is screaming... lol... Though my reply wouldn't matter anymore since a decision has already been made... I just wanted to put my two cents in.. Thanks Emma! n.n
