I ask you: What would your character look like if they were the god being honoured this August? Well, we're about to find out!

This event's costume contest is purely OOC, where you get to dress up your character as if they were a deity.

It doesn't have to be EF-related, so go nuts! Think about the powers your character would have if they were a deity, and the clothes they'd wear. (There's even a couple of Greek gods/mythology doll makers at The Doll Palace to make things easier for you, but you don't have to use them if you have something else in mind. )

There are a couple of rules, though:

• It has to be a dollmaker.
  
• You can edit the costume you design (colours and such), but only if the dollmaker's terms allow tweaking.
  
• Make sure you include a link and text credit to the dollmaker you use.
  
• You can only qualify to win if you take part in the rest of the Beach Party event, but I love to see what you guys come up with so you can still post your dolls even if you don't have time to participate in the party.

The deadline is August the 22nd, giving you plenty of time to join the party and us plenty of time to vote for the winner before the event is over.

The winner will receive this cute little starfish trophy!

[Elias]

Elias Solanus: Prince of Profit, God of Greed, Patron Saint of Wealth. Men and women alike pay tribute to the Golden God in the hopes of garnering any kind of profit.

[Piper]

Piper is the God of Water (which seemed appropriate for the beach party ). She went a little wild with the backdrop and would like you all to know she made this costume herself, including the stuffed Loch Ness monster and water dragon behind her, which she'll be selling in her shop for an astronomical price.

Now if only I could pixel well enough to make that statement true...

[Kiel]

Kiel considers himself the God of Hats (naturally) and, like, seems to be under the delusion that a God of Hats would be colour-coordinated. But who am I to tell him otherwise?

Doesn't he look handsome in his spiffeh new hat that he can't actually afford yet?

[Leon]

Leon Diostrophes: Patron Saint of the Apali, God of Purity, Lord of Righteous Warfare. Leon's enchanted imp-griffin, Balmung, follows him wherever he goes, and is considered to be a symbol of good luck. Villages and encampments that see Balmung flying overhead are considered to have Leon's blessing. Leon has also been known to bestow his mighty hammer unto a deserving Apali warrior, once every half-century.

[Lani]

Lani's going as the godess of the hunt. A fake (but realistic) wolf head is tassled and braided into her long hair (which she's getting back to normal after the festival) and she wears a tan wrap around her chest, for modesty's sake, although the hair would've covered her anyway. She also has one of the falcons from the pet shop accompany her to help with this.

[Lucas]

Lucas has gone all out in his costume as God of Fire, even going so far as to bleach his normally dark hair, before dying it ginger. He's topless, in an effort to impress a certain someone. The wings of fire are incredibly realistic, giving off an actual glow and a small amount of warmth, that should help Lucas if it turns cold, and he needs some heat on his bare chest. The outfit has remarkable parallels with Luke's temper. Don't cross him when he's in this outfit, or you'll feel exactly how hot his temper can be.

[Ares]

This is Ares, the God of War and Loveeeee. Be scared of him or love him. He is all powerful! BEWARE! He glows silvery and can never be beaten in battle. He can make anyone's heart flutter with love or he can make anyone look like a turnip. His armor is indestructible and his swords can kill anything instantly if they touch it. Beside all that, he's a nice guy.

[Elise]

Elise has decided to dress up as the goddess of couriers. Before taking long or dangerous missions, couriers pray to their patron goddess to ask for health and safety during travels. The messenger goddess also carries items and messages between the deities. It is said that when the goddess wears her winged shoes, she can run across dimensions in the blink of an eye.

In order to create the costume, Elise spent many hours piecing fake feathers together in order to create realistic wings. She originally wanted to wear a long flowy gown, but then remembered that this was a beach party. Elise loves playing by the sea so she's decided to go with something shorter and accessories that are easily removable.

[Maximus]

Max is looking understated here in his best doctors outfit, but his costume has a more subtle message. Whilst he was working as a healer, Max found himself in situations where he really was as close to god as he could be; although Xanth would probably beg to differ. So coming as a doctor is, to Max, a quite profound statement about the fragile nature of life. Either that, or he realised he had no time to create a better costume. It's your call

[Lazuli]

Lazuli is the Goddess of Nature (big surprise there ). She embodies the green and blue of the world, preserving mother earth and keeping the air fresh so its inhabitants may live happily.
The staff contains energy that nurtures and restores vitality in living things, including trees and flowers. Its only opponent is fire.
Lazuli dyed and curled her hair for this event. She also designed the costume herself~

[Isabel]

Isabel as... the Sun Goddess or the Goddess of Fire. Wanting to keep things simple yet comfortable enough to wear on the beach, Isabel decided on a short gold dress/swimsuit with a long white satin empire waist cloth that's easily removable if ever she decided to go swimming. Rather than wearing heels, she chose a pair of comfortable leather sandals with wrap around leather laces that reaches above her knee. For accessories, she chose a pair of gold stud earrings, simple gold bracelets in each arm, a spiky crown to complement her outfit, and a gold staff complete with faux fire to finish the whole ensemble.

Oh dear. It seems that some of the entries' images have disappeared. Assuming that this isn't a glitch with just my own computer, this makes it difficult for us to pick a winner at the end of the month. I'm hoping you guys kept copies for yourselves, and those who used tektek may be able to retrieve their entries from the tektek website, but otherwise you may need to remake your avatars.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience, I'm not sure what's happened here. If you do remake or retrieve your entries, I'd strongly recommend saving them to your own host so they can't be deleted accidentally and then repost them before the 30th of September. Otherwise, I'm afraid I won't be able to include them when it's time to post the poll for voting and that'd be a real shame.
