[+] Godmod notes / Player limits

Well, I don't know about you guys, but I'm always forgetting to add GM notes to my posts and I find it a bit of a pain anyway, especially when it's my own characters I'm GMing.

It's also a bit difficult from a mod standpoint knowing which posts have GM'd with permission and which need a nudge about asking. I've been thinking for a while about making some changes, not just to the way we handle godmodding but also to things like the minimum word requirement, as part of a drive to give you guys more responsibility as players rather than having the mods interfere in even minor things.

A while ago, we had siggy notes where characters that were in a relationship could have a permanent GM permission note in their signatures (eg. "Piper has GM permission"). I'm thinking about taking that concept a step further and have been nosing around other RP sites to see how they do things. Probably the best option I've come across is a "player limits" system.

This player limits system would basically be a link in the sidebar and a form in your character journals, outlining what forms of godmodding you'll accept, which you won't, and which you want to be asked for first. For instance, if your character is in a fight, are you okay with the other person godmodding yours to land hits, or are you only okay with it if the injuries are minor, etc. You could have different limits for each character, and they'd be entirely up to you. They'd also be completely upfront so characters will be opened up to more surprises (if your player limits say "I'm okay with surprise attacks", for instance, someone could ambush your character without having to ask you about it first, which would also be a (hopefully <_<

) fun surprise for you too).

And it's not just things like fighting. You could specify if you're okay with your character being turned into a vampire, or hypnotised and fed from. Healers would be able to heal your character without needing to wait for your permission, and so on and so forth.

But I wouldn't be abdicating all responsibility, of course. If someone went against your outlined limits and did something you didn't like, I'd encourage you to come to me or the (currently non-existent) mods.

Soooooo, what do you guys think introducing this system? Naturally, it may have kinks that need to be worked out, but I certainly think it's worth a look.
