How to Pronounce Aithe's Name Well this /is/ the spam station :D

Well this /is/ the spam station.... :P


You prounounce her name A (rhymes with hay)- thee (rhymes with knee. Soft 'th' not hard. Doesn't sound like 'the'. Like the 'th' in 'thumb' o_x confuzzling)

I just was wondering today how everyone was prounouncing her name o_O And it began to bug me so much, I had to just put a little note ^_~

Whoo, I have been pronouncing it corrently, then! Ish! I always thought it was like Æthe. With no 'thee' sound, though :P

I've been pronouncing it all wrong then XD I pronounced it I-th (I as in 'eye' not 'ee')

lol, I've pronouced it like "faith" minus the F, lol XD

And, for all those who have spent hours pondering over how to pronouce Eilidh Here it is.

A (like hay) -lay (I 'lay' on the ground)

It's like the most confusing name ever, the D and H are silent, the Es and Is sound like As XD

If you know how to pronouce Ceilidh, just minus the C ;D

Alieh is a-lie(I told you a 'lie') -ah (Ah! I get it!)

Niles is miles with a N ;)

I was pronouncing aithe as Kaithe without the K.


Attila and Aeitius can be pronounced any way you like it. Though I pronounce Attila as uh-till-uh and Aeitius as I-choose. ^_^

Soo, yush. I always pronounced Aithe like Faith without the f. >> hehe. ^^;;

Shhhhhh. -_-

Her full name is actually Xanthorra, pronounced Ex-zan-thor-uh. But yeah, the short version is pronounced Zanth. ^_^

And like Vicky said, knowing I'm pronouncing these names wrong isn't going to stop me pronouncing them wrong. XD I get comfortable and find the easiest way to pronounce something and then that's it. :D

I always prounced Xanth as 'Ex-anth". XD Easier for me than Zanth. Just like I can't say most words starting with an 'x' properly. They sound funny to my mind.

I deliberately picked a Welsh Celtic mouthful that people would look at and have no clue how to pronouce.

Eivyonydd is said (h)ay-vee-ON-ith
The shortened form he used most often, Vyon, is said Vee-ON

The emphasis in Welsh (from the pronunciation guide I was using) is on the last syllable, hence the 'ON'.

I too said Aithe as in Faith, but I like the Ay-thee. ^_^

And Mahesa I had wrong too, I would have said that with a short 'heh' instead of the long 'hee', so Ma-heh-saa.

I'm glad I was saying Kaida right. Without actually knowing how it was said I forced myself to say it Kay-e-duh instead of Ky(as in fly)-duh
