The Rumour Mill

The Rumor Mill is all about spreading stories, whether true or false, for your characters to overhear and share. You can use the rumours as prompts for a new storyline, or as simple tools to pad out your posts and give your characters something to talk about. You can make up and add your own, too! Also, if a rumour works well/long enough to catch the ONPC team's attention, it may even become an available quest, too!

To start a rumour, please make a new topic using the code below, and make the title something pertaining to the rumour. (Please remember: only one rumour per topic.)

Periodically this list will be updated. It contains un-RPed rumour prompts generated by EF's staff. If you have a suggestion, please just start the rumour yourself.

If you would like to update one of the following prompts, please just copy the rumour and quote it as you make a new topic, using the title of the prompt as your thread's title.

• CATTLE KILLS: Farmers on the Nubian Delta are complaining about a rash of violent deaths among their cattle and are blaming a gytrash for the kills.
  
  
• GREEDY LORD: Shrine Lord Nen has purportedly put feelers out in search of a sapphire to rival Lord Ea's prized ruby.
  
  
• DISAPPEARANCES: Several people have apparently disappeared from their homes. Neighbours say they've heard a lot of night-time howling of late.
  
  
• MONSTER MINER: The mines near Pelagias have suffered enormous setbacks recently and the miners tell tales of a monster in the bowels of the mountain.
  
  
• THE HEART OF ME, a Dorchester & Theopotos opera, will be showing at the Coliseum this year.
