HAPPY FRIDAY THE 13TH, FOLKS~~~~!!! \o/

It's Friday the 13th here where I am (and I miss posting in Nic's account, omg ;_; ) and as traditions go, people are saying it's bad luck or all the black cats in the world are going to eat you alive come midnight or something but I don't really believe that. Still! This made me wonder what kind of superstitions Elysia or the other non-Earth realms might have and if there are special ones, I thought it might be a little fun to talk about them. Like, when a cheefle lands on your lap or whatever, people need to stroke it three times for good luck or so their wishes would come true or maybe, when some weed sprouts out of your garden, you have to say a tiny prayer before pulling it out because it's precious to Xanth and she can pull your head off if you don't do this or something.

So what do you think?

I never really thought about superstitions, though. I like the ones you suggested!

Superstitions would be fun! :'D There could even be a wiki-article so we could develop Elysian culture more! ^o^

I dunno why, but I think it would be interesting to have something about putting babanas and bananas on the same plate. :X~

Oh oh! Like maybe in ehh...Dardanian or Sylvan or insert-sub-culture here, giving a pregnant woman a plate of babana and bananas is said to kind of, influence twins or something? ;; Off the toppa my head.

Maybe we can compile a list first! And then put them up the wiki in one go and then if more superstitions need elaboration like..."so-and-so superstition is important in Dardanos because Kiel was born there", we could just make another wiki entry solely for that superstition!

Imma start it now.

1.) If a cheefle lands on your lap, arm or shoulder, stroke it three times for good luck. Some also believe that making a wish upon doing so will grant said wish.
2.) Although the Dophis plant is considered a weed in many regions, it is often said to be precious to the goddess Xanth so before pulling it out, say a tiny prayer to reserve Xanth's mercy else, bad luck is known to befall you. Some even go so far as saying that a loved one will pass away.
3.) Insert Babana-Banana superstition here.
4.) Your superstition goes here.
5.) PROFIT!

I'll make the wiki entry with the Dophis plant later when I get home! Someone should also make a nursery rhyme or a tongue twister out of this whole babana-banana thing. Tsk, Emma!

If this happens -repeatedly prods Evgenia's wiki page- i really like this idea. We should also include Elysian Idioms and such (eg: What under Hel?!) to add more culture spiciness
