I was saving it for Xanthmas, and then I wasn't: Nyad's Dream is a new skin, and our new default.

It's unlike anything I've skinned before. I experimented. I hope you like it! (But if not, let me know what the problem is and I'll see what I can do.)

It really gives that underwater feel, right? Right? Right?

I have a few suggestions, though:

The glow effect on some of the text makes it really hard to see. I'd like to point out the Recent Topics, mainly because it's right against the bright image background and the font is pretty small (at least on my screen). Similar problem for the Fast Reply box... I think if the background was darker or the text was darker it would be more readable. Lastly, and this might just be me being picky, but I kind of wish there were one or two more colors in the color scheme.

Other than that, I really love it!! You really outdid yourself this time, Emma!

It's simply gorgeous. Totally a magical, underwater feel. I love the icons and the transparency in particular. I have a really cool jellyfish to look at as I write this message. Kind of makes me want a nyad character, too. I want to make water jellyfish too~

Skyla makes good points about the Recent Topics box, I also feel that the small captials font is a little hard to read, and the whole recent topics box and maybe the banner links could benefit from having the same dark background as the other content boxes. Ah, I'm no good at describing web layouts, hopefully that made some kind of sense. Also, I just noticed a few little things. The character status icons (under character avatar pictures) don't seem to have been uploaded properly (unless it's just my browser), and the trophies box border is a little odd. Unless that's part of the design? I sort of looks like the trophy box wants to limit us to one row of trophies. Also, I had some trouble signing in using the new skin. I couldn't find the sign in button - although I may have just been having a derpy moment.

Even without such changes, though, I think it certainly looks soft and alluring enough to entice visitors to the site, and provides members with another great skin option.

Ack. I totally forgot to make usergroup icons. I always forget something!

I've made a couple of minor changes to the areas you've both pointed out, so hopefully they're a bit better now. I'm not sure about the red in the reply area, though.

Oh, but I'm not sure what you mean about the award box, Hollie. Do you mind taking a screen shot for me? In my browser, it seems fine. (Although, I just realised that in Chrome, some features aren't quite right, and the drop-down boxes have a white background, and clicking in the fast reply box makes it turn bright pink. )

Yeah, the recent changes box is so much clearer now. Thanks, Emma. To be honest, though, I'm not sure about the red either. I guess it matches the smilies, but maybe clashes a little with the background colours. And now I don't have a jellyfish to look at as I write. Ahh, we're so demanding.



It's a tiny little thing, so it doesn't really need changing, I'm just being picky. But to me the border on the top looks thinner, and there is a funny little prong on the right side border edge. I use IE, by the way (I know, get with the program, right? The program being firefox or chrome.) and the dropdown boxes are all a garish pink with IE, too.

Hmmm. Well, I used red because it already features (error messages, stuff like that) as well as the emotes, I'll try something else.

Garish pink?! I do dislike cross-browser issues. The thing with the awards... I couldn't replicate that particular problem, but my version of IE spreads the award box allllll the way across the page, so... ack? I reset it so there's only four on display in the sidebar. That hopefully fixes the problem?

I put the textarea back the way it was but added a text shadow. (Black text doesn't work. ) I can try something else if that's not enough.

Thanks for the screenie, though! I'll keep poking at it if it's not fixed.

Eeee I love the text shadow, Ems It looks terrific now. The only other thing I'd mention is that the forum pages (that show the threads) look a bit strange. The page numbers are positioned awkwardly with respect to the description boxes, but again that's a minor thing.

And cross-browser issues suck ): Maybe it's one of those things where you need a specific code for IE/Chrome?

Hmm, they are a bit odd compared to other skins, but I kind of liked where they were (and was having difficulties getting them to move appropriately) so I just left them. But then, it seems that my browsers display things a bit different, so if it is an issue, would you mind taking a screenie for me?

For the IE/Chrome issue, I've hopefully fixed it by putting solid colours in the drop-downs to get rid of the garish pink/white, and reset how many trophies appear in the sidebar. I really really hope that's done the trick.

Just letting you know that the trophy boxes and drop down boxes are now totally OK in IE. And I'm glad to see Mr. Jellyfish as I write again. xp

lol ikr, Firefox is win Except when it's not because it's such a resource hog.

But yeah, I'm okay with the pagination. I was worried they were way out of place, but that's pretty much what I see too. I kind of like it.
