[Synnove]

Synnove yelped in shock to discover that the human was infact a vampire.

"And keep your voice down, you might as well have got a megaphone and announced 'I am a talking wolf, a shapeshifter actually, come take me away and lock me up', you idiot!"

Synnove was alarmed; no one had ever spoken to him like that. He growled as she ran after Usagi. after some chasing, the vampire began making her way towards the park gate with an angry expression on her face.

Synnove chuckled. Serves her right. Bet Yuu was blabbing on about Mother again. He thought to himself.

He was about to run after the vampire but he remembered he was still a wolf cub. He hid behind a tree and began to shift. When he stood up, he smoothed his jacket down and ran after the vampire.

"Hey! Wait up!" He called.

[Faith]

"Hey! Wait up!"

Faith scowled as she realised the shifter was calling after her. What does he want now? He's probably just calling me back so he can have a go at me, the... She exhaled an angry breath, then held her head up high as she turned round and began to walk back to Synnove. Well I won't let him get to me. And it's not worth starting an argument. If I provoke him he might want to fight, and I wouldn't stand a chance... not yet, anyway. Maybe when I'm stronger.

As she got nearer she noticed he had shifted into human form. Oh so now he's thinking straight...She thought, before another thought pushed to the front of her mind: He's quite attractive actually... She gasped inwardly, shocked and angry at herself. No! No he's not! What are you thinking?! Stop it! Stop thinking! She shook her head as she reached the shifter.

"What is it now?" She asked in what she hoped was a cold tone, although she had a sinking feeling that she was still blushing a little at her own traitorous mind.

[Synnove]

"What is it now?"

"Well that's not very nice." He said "And I don't want to argue with you if that's what you're thinking."

Synnove noticed the vampire was blushing a little and grinned. He placed a finger under the vampire's chin and pushed it upwrds a little.

"So, you're mystified by my handsome self aswell then?" He teased.

He chuckled and dropped his finger.

"So Miss Vampire, what's your name then?"

[Usagi]

Usagi swallowed the last of her tears and got up. I guess I should go and appologize to Faith for running off like that. She began making her way towards the park gate.

To her shock, she saw Synnove talking to Faith. Now what does he want?

"So, you're mystified by my handsome self aswell then?" She heard him say.

Usagi burst out laughing. I knew he'd tease Faith. Usagi emerged from the trees and tapped Synnove on the shoulder.

"Leave Faith alone, she's done nothing to you." Usagi said to her brother.

[Faith]

Faith's eyes widened as she felt his finger under her chin, and a dozen sharp retorts wizzed through her mind as he teased her - No good, arrogant, cocky... who does he think he is? - but she smiled, in spite of herself. Damn. Bad, Faith, very bad! You'll only encourage him! She took a deep breath, trying to make it as silent as possible, and replaced her silly smile with a hard look.

"My, aren't you full of yourself? Bet you stare at yourself in the mirror every day, don't you? My name is Faith." She replied. She remembered what Usagi had told her, about her brother Synnove biting her on the ear... she was willing to bet all her cash that this arrogant shifter was the same Synnove. "And you're Synnove, aren't you?"

She noticed a movement out of the corner of her eye - Usagi was back. She gave a sigh of relief; Usagi didn't look unhappy anymore - in fact, she laughed and scolded Synnove: "Leave Faith alone, she's done nothing to you." Faith smiled at Usagi, grateful that she was sticking up for her.

[Synnove]

Synnove felt a tap on his shoulder, turning around he saw Usagi standing before him

"Ah! Usagi! I was just talking to your cute lil friend here." He said.

"My name is Faith. And you're Synnove, aren't you?"

"Ah, Faith, such a lovely name, shame the vampire it belongs to doesn't match it. So you know who I am then? then you must surely know about my bite," Synnove bent his head and whispered into Faith's ear "because I don't need to be in wolf form to bite."

He gave Faith a quick wink before turning to Usagi, flinging an arm around her shoulder.

"So, little sister, what have you been up to? Found yourself a boyfriend yet?"

[Faith]

"Ah, Faith, such a lovely name, shame the vampire it belongs to doesn't match it. So you know who I am then? then you must surely know about my bite," Hmmph. Being lovely is boring; I'm perfectly happy as I am, thanks, bite-boy. Faith thought. Her mouth opened to respond with a sharp comment; "I'm happy as I am; I don't need-" but she shut it again as he moved closer and whispered in her ear: "because I don't need to be in wolf form to bite."

She raised her eyebrows, eyes wide, a blush creeping onto her face. What on Elysia did he mean by that? I'm not sure I even want to know what he meant... Damn him! Cocky little so-and-so... trying to make me uncomfortable is he? It won't work. I'll just ignore him. She eyed him warily as he winked, gave him a scowl and turned her attention to Usagi as Synnove said: "So, little sister, what have you been up to? Found yourself a boyfriend yet?"

"What a one track mind your brother has." She winked at Usagi. "You OK now?"

[Usagi]

"So, little sister, what have you been up to? Found yourself a boyfriend yet?"

"Boyfriend? As if." Usagi said, giving him a friendly push.

"Yeah, I'm fine now. Sorry for running off like that." Usagi said, kicking at the grass.

She removed her brother's arm from her shoulders and threaded her arm through Faith's.

"Synnove's not all bad, he's actually quite nice once you get to know him." Usagi placed a hand over her mouth and whispered in Faith's ear. "Anyway, he only teases people he likes."

[Synnove]

"Really? I thought you were always yelling at me for not being nice to you."

Synnove raised his eyebrow when Usagi began whispering to Faith. Now what's she saying about me. He thought rol;ling his eyes. Something bad I suppose.

"You two, I think we should move back into the park before someone yells at us for blocking the entrance."

[Faith]

"Synnove's not all bad, he's actually quite nice once you get to know him. Anyway, he only teases people he likes." Faith raised an eyebrow at Usagi's last comment. "What's there to like?" She whispered back. "All I've done since I met him is either yell at him or made nasty comments. He must have some warped sense of character to like me." Still, she couldn't help feeling pleased, and flashed a smile at Usagi, then at Synnove as he said: "You two, I think we should move back into the park before someone yells at us for blocking the entrance."

Faith looked up, surprised to find that they were still at the entrance, as Synnove had said. She nodded, and started to make her way over to a secluded part of the park. "Good point. That place over there looks good - it's somewhat secluded, and in the shade."

[Usagi]

"What's there to like? All I've done since I met him is either yell at him or made nasty comments. He must have some warped sense of character to like me."

"Ah, he and Miki were yelling at each other when they first met. Maybe he's just insane or something." Usagi replied, laughing.

"You two, I think we should move back into the park before someone yells at us for blocking the entrance."

"Good point. That place over there looks good - it's somewhat secluded, and in the shade."

Usagi nodded and followed Faith towards that part of the park. I can finally shift back. She thought to herself. She sat down on the grass. Maybe I can see some flirting here. She thought, remembering the incident she had witnessed in a different part of NY.

[Faith]

"Ah, he and Miki were yelling at each other when they first met. Maybe he's just insane or something." Usagi had replied. Miki? I wonder who Miki is? Faith thought as she sat down on the grass next to Usagi. Damn. I'm getting curious again. She leant towards Usagi and softly asked "Who's Miki?", keeping quiet in case it was a sensitive subject with Synnove. Wouldn't want to make him upset... would he get upset? Just angry probably. I can handle that, but not tears. What if it's a sensitive subject with Usagi? Damn, I didn't even think of that! Worried, she hurriedly added: "You don't have to tell me you know. Feel free to tell me to just :X off or whatever if I'm being too nosy."

[Usagi]

"Who's Miki? "You don't have to tell me you know. Feel free to tell me to just :X off or whatever if I'm being too nosy."

"It's alright, Faith." Usagi said, gently. "Miki was Synnove's girlfriend, I'm not sure what happened to her after the incident. I'll ask for you."

Usagi turned to look at Synnove who was leaning against a tree opposite them.

"Synnove, what happened to Miki?"

[Synnove]

"Synnove, what happened to Miki?"

Synnove turned to look at Usagi. He sighed and looked at the sky again.

"Miki? I don't know; she got lost on that day and I never saw her again." He replied, quietly.

Tears were beginning to well in his eyes. He wiped them away briskly and looked at the girls.

"Enough about us, what about you, Faith? You have a boyfriend?"

[Faith]

Faith longed to ask more but she stopped herself, and turned her attention instead to Synnove as he said "Enough about us, what about you, Faith? You have a boyfriend?"

She laughed, and murmured "One track mind..." just loud enough to be heard, hoping to add some levity to the mood. She pushed her hair off of her face, tucking it behind her ear, then replied to his question. "Nah. Not at the moment. It would be pretty hard to find a guy I wouldn't scare off with these fangs, don't you think? Then again, maybe my temper is more frightning than the fangs."

She lounged back onto the grass, fiddling with a flower shoot as she said: "There's not much to know about me. Haven't got any family 'cept for a sibling someplace and maybe some distant cousins I don't know much about. Everything's changed for me since I was turned, so there's no point asking me what I do and stuff. I'm having fun so far just wandering around Elysia, meeting new people. I've met some pretty cool people so far - there's this nice shifter girl and her cute brother that I like spending time with." She smirked, pulling the flower from the ground and twirling it in her fingers.

[Synnove]

"Nah. Not at the moment. It would be pretty hard to find a guy I wouldn't scare off with these fangs, don't you think? Then again, maybe my temper is more frightning than the fangs."

"Well I'm not exactly running around screaming my knickers off am I?" Synnove said, laughing. "I've got to agree with you about the temper thing though."

"I've met some pretty cool people so far - there's this nice shifter girl and her cute brother that I like spending time with."

"Hmm, I don't think I've seen them around Elysia yet. Would you mind describing them to me?" Synnove said, grinning. Synnove walked over to where Faith was sitting and sat down beside her. "I knew I was irresistible." He said winking.

[Usagi]

Usagi rolled her eyes.

"Do you always have to be so immature? Seriously, anyone would have to be mad to think you irresistible." Usagi said, laughing. "And stop teasing Faith for the last time."

Usagi lowered her voice and turned to Faith.

"So do you really think he's irresistible?" Usgai asked, giggling.

[Faith]

Faith laughed, shaking her head in disbelief. There he goes again. It's almost endearing. Almost. She looked at Synnove, and replied: "Don't get ahead of yourself. I said you were cute - that's all you're getting for now. Well, maybe. Keep on pushing it and I might let something slip about what I think of you. Or then again I might get angry again. Your choice - want to risk it?" She smiled at him, then left him to think on it as she turned to Usagi to reply.

"Irresistable? She said softly, then leaned in closer to Usagi and whispered "I don't often reveal my thoughts, but I'll tell you that I don't find him irresistable. He's attractive though, and I like him; even though he is arrogant. I suppose I don't know him well enough to even know what I think of him myself." She moved away, surprised that she'd actually shared those kinds of thoughts for once.

"Thank God, I don't think I could cope if he got another girlfriend." Usagi said, laughing a little.

Usagi looked at Faith, then Synnove. They'd make a good pair. She thought, smiling. She leant closer to Faith and whispered in her ear.

"He gets worse if you keep going at him, he finds it funny to get people mad at him." Usagi whsipered.

[Synnove]

"Don't get ahead of yourself. I said you were cute - that's all you're getting for now. Well, maybe. Keep on pushing it and I might let something slip about what I think of you. Or then again I might get angry again. Your choice - want to risk it?"

"Hmm, I think I'll risk it. I think I prefer you when you're angry." He said laughing.

He watched Faith and Usagi whispering and giggling to each other. Girls, all the same. He thought, shaking his head. Synnove looked at Faith and smiled. She's exactly like Miki. he thought, sighing.

"Stop whispering, I have a right to know what you're thinking as well you know." He said.
