KEEP YOUR ELBOWS IN AT ALL TIMES


The Reward Shop is in dire need of some padding. You can enter items for the Apothecary section of the Cash Shop or the Elixirs section of the Karma Shop, and your inventions may have any property you can imagine (such as healing of general or particular injuries/illnesses, "buffs" for characters, and so on), as long as there's a reasonable source for those properties. However, please don't all default to "Xanth did it". ;)

HOW TO ENTER


All you have to do is reply to this thread with the following form. Remember to keep descriptions as brief as possible so they'll fit in the Prize Shop, but make sure to include both a description of the item's appearance (colour of the potion, the type of container it comes in, etc) and the effect it has when activated/drunk.

Description: A small glass vial of flammable fluid that ignites when the glass is smashed. The resulting explosion is harmless but temporarily blinds anyone in a 5-metre radius.


REWARDS


All items will be reviewed by myself to make sure they fit the setting, then added to the Prize Shop. Anything that relies on Xanth's power for its creation will go into the Karma Shop, while mundane items will be added to the Cash Shop. The most inventive will also receive ζ50.

I also strongly encourage you to submit new entries to the wiki (creatures, plants, etc) as sources for your creations, which means you could claim any number of Prize Shop achievements (and cash) for doing so! :)

This thread will close to new entries automatically at midnight (GMT) on January 31st, 2012.

Name of Item: Tonic of Speed
Description: A tiny vial of a few drops of synthetic adrenaline. When drunk, the added adrenaline unlocks faster reactions, and thus faster movements, than one would usually have. Lasts 1 hour.

Name of Item: Tonic of Strength
Description: A tiny vial of a few drops of non-addictive steroids. When drunk, unlocks more strength than one would normally have. Lasts 1 hour. Side effects: makes the drinker especially testy and emotionally volatile.

Name of Item: Liquid Luck
Description: A tiny vial containing a few drops of fragrant liquid. Although it is merely a placebo, if the user believes they are luckier, they often are. Lasts however long the user thinks it does.

Name of Item: Interrogation Potion
Description: A light-blocking brown flask holding a single dose of tasteless, odorless liquid. Although it is merely a placebo, if the drinker believes they are forced to tell the truth, they often do. Lasts however long the drinker thinks it does.

Name of Item: Priest's Protective Prayer
Description: A scrap of paper saying that the user was prayed for and signed with date. Results vary. Elderly report having an easier time crossing streets after purchasing this item.

Name of Item: Priests Protective Prayer II
Description: Lasts an entire month.

Name of Item: Elemental Enchantment
Description: A priest or other elemental user may enchant your item of choice with an element of your choice. Lasts one day.

Name of Item: Elemental Enchantment II
Description: Lasts an entire month.

Name of Item: Potion of Monster
Description: A bottle without a top that emanates a foul, rotting odor. Attracts all wild monsters in the area to the location of the potion. Use with extreme caution.

Name of Item: Monster's Delusion
Description: A glass test tube filled with the essence of various monsters. When drunk, the drinker is ignored by wild monsters, however they are filled with the same urges and desires as the essences within. Often, the drinker looses their sanity until the effects wear off. Lasts six hours.

Name of Item: Hylozoist Box
Description: A medium sized gem-encrusted box containing enough crimson mist for one use. When an object is placed inside, it becomes demonically "possessed" and will move about by itself for one day to one month. The object does what it wants to and have been known to do devious things. They are often suspects in strange murder cases. Use with extreme caution.

Name of Item: Inixion
Description: A glass test tube filled with a single dose of clear liquid. Drinking it reveals to them their own skills and levels therein.

Name of Item: Youthful Toxin
Description: A decorative beaker filled with a single dose of transfiguration potion. Drinking it produces horrendous boils, zits, and acne to the point where one cannot be recognized. Lasts 1 hour.

Name of Item: Liquid Love
Description: A dainty decorative vial filled with a pink potion. When drunk, the drinker falls in love with the first humanoid they see, regardless of gender. Has no effect on non-humanoids.

Name of Item: Midnight Velvet
Description: A canister of single-dose powder. When ingested before bed, reveals a possible future in a vivid dream.

Name of Item: Energized Crystal Dust
Description: A single-use test-tube of luminescent blue powder. Allows the user to use a power one level higher than they normally would. Cannot go over the max level, and effects do not stack.

Name of Item: Energized Crystal Dust II
Description: A single-use test-tube of luminescent blue powder. Allows the user to use a power two levels higher than they normally would. Cannot go over the max level, and effects do not stack.

Name of Item: Iron Maiden
Description: A small, shiny, single-use, engraved capsule. When the user places an elemental of any size inside, it snaps permanently shut, and produces a large elemental source for 1 hour of the corresponding element. After use, it melts away and leaves colored ash. It is rumored that these devices produce energy for an evil deity.

Name of Item: Draught of Sages
Description: Temporarily improves ability to learn academia.

Name of Item: Spirit of the Wraith
Description: Reduces corporeality of the drinker, temporarily making them invulnerable to physical attack.

Name of Item: Scourgebane
Description: A concoction that is toxic to Vampires. To be drunk by the potential victim prevent being sucked on.

Name of Item: Dragon's Bane
Description: Emits a gaseous substance that, once breathed in by the dragon, makes it impossible for them to ignite a spark. Fire dragons are still dangerous without their fire-breathing, of course, but this smoke bomb reduces the risk of being flambed alive.

Name of Item: Tonic of Perception
Description: Improves the drinker's perception, allowing them to observe more than usual. Reduces the risk of being snuck up on.

Name of Item: Emberskin
Description: Turns the drinker's skin into embers, counteracting the effects of hypothermia and other cold-based issues. Vulnerable to regular water.

Name of Item: Chillskin
Description: Covers the drinker's skin in a frosty substance, reducing the effects of burns and other fire-based issues.

Name of Item: Eye of Xanth
Description: Grants the recipient the ability to see what is going on an extended area from a bird's eye view.

Name of Item: Voice of Xanth
Description: Grants the recipient the ability to shout loud enough, and with enough force, that everyone in the vicinity is deafened and those in front of the user are blown away.

Name of Item: Hand of Xanth
Description: Grants the recipient the ability to put the smackdown on their opponents.

Name of Item: Divine Generosity
Description: For one week, all the recipient's income (from IC posts and earnings) is doubled.

I like items that have interesting roleplay potential.

Potion of Recklessness
Heals moderate wounds but causes the user to become afflicted with random status problems for a day, one minute after imbibing.

Energy Tonic
Increases the effectiveness of elemental abilities at the price of moderate internal wounds and physical exhaustion, onset 30 minutes after imbibing.

Vial of Nightmares
If afflicted by a status ailment, cures it. If not, causes temporary (30 minute), non-life-threatening petrification.

Odd Medicine
Either incapacitates the user or heals them completely, at random. 50% chance.

Essence of Amanita Muscaria
Temporarily heals the user completely, though the user is cast into a vicious rage for one hour.

Absolvence Pill
Causes the user to either utter only truths or only lies for the duration, 50%. One hour.

Severence Poison
Negates the resistance to a weakness for one hour.

Empathy Potion
For those who need to learn to express themselves. Every word spoken is with the whole of their spirit, and the imbiber is easily overcome by emotion for an hour. Makes the recipient very easily manipulated.

Because each of you had so many awesome ideas, I decided to give ζ100 per entry on top of the ζ50 bonus for originality. :) I'll start reviewing and adding stuff to the Prize Shop in the next few days (but remember that they're not official until they're on the wiki).

I also want to congratulate Series. I felt his Iron Maidens were particularly creative and suited to the setting, so he'll receive the bonus. ^^
