I've never considered myself a bad communicator, but I feel that others are bad listeners. I say something and they look at me funny. Or they say "What?". Or they misunderstand me. Or they just don't hear me at all. But, how many times do you look at a non-verbal communication and misunderstand?

I like to amuse myself with this.

In my apartment complex, there is no proactive maintenance, so if something is broken, it stays broken, until A) maintenance knows B) they have the money to fix it and C) actually does fix it. Which means that it's entirely likely that the SAME device will be broken your entire many, many month stay.

Thus, I invented these printable sheets to be placed on broken devices:

I love it. I think in Florida, the Spanish would have to be listed as the primary language, with English underneath.

I could do with some visual notes for around my house. Not just for "it's borked", though I did move in to a newly built council bungalow in April and have reported several "teething problems" (their words, not mine) that have needed some major work but that have had to be reported repeatedly. I'm still waiting on a lot of stuff being done. It's not really broken, though, so much as "will cause problems"...

I also have to leave notes around for the carers all the time. I tried drawing a toilet on one once, which I found quite amusing. I don't think they did, though.
