The events in Chapter Three are taking place over the course of one day, beginning on Erimis 15 (15th of July). This list is chronological so is not necessarily recorded in the order the posts were written.
- Rusty Faelan has died. The vanguard has taken the time to burn his body and plans to hold proper rites for him when they get home.
- The vanguard has been able to keep track of the Malaki brave and have followed him out of the Badlands to a mud-spattered valley filled with strange, steaming holes. Green mountains are visible in the distance.
- The Malaki brave's tracks zig-zag across the valley around the holes. Faris asks if the vanguard should follow them verbatim, but Kiel is already cutting across to make up time.
- Faris notices agitated currents underground.
- Ionia asks for the brave's direction and takes to the air to track him faster and scout ahead.
- Allowing Misha and Ninian to guide his body, Jericho is spending all his time telepathically tracking Garnak. He learns that the wasteland is called "The Badlands". Faris calls them Mo'kferl Azo'hol, "Desolate Plains".
- Jericho realises that Garnak is headed to a rocky structure that has deep meaning to the brave.
- Wing Master Adras Tiana and her squadron are scouting Peace Valley where it fringes the Chinyelu jungle mountains. They are also looking for the brave and fear an attack.
- Faris lets curiosity get the best of him and sticks his head in a hole.
- On her scouting mission, Ionia narrowly avoids an explosion of scalding water and steam.
- The ground begins to tremble as the vent beneath Faris' face fills up with pressure ready to burst. Kiel and Maaike tackle Faris and Aiden to the ground just as the geyser erupts.
- Tiana's squadron spots Ionia. They split up to head north and east looking for the Malaki while Tiana and her rearguard try to capture Ionia alive for questioning. They have never seen a Skotadi before.
- Riders Iosen Lysaedra and Ainetto Sylvea circle the vanguard. Curious, Lysaedra lands and dismounts to greet the group.
- Safe from a steam clean thanks to Kiel, Faris picks himself out of the mud and attempts to introduce himself to Lysaedra.
- Ionia dodges Tiana's attempt to ground her but is caught in the myst's claws. She turns her shadows into spikes but is electrocuted by colourful arcs for her trouble.
- Tired of being used, Jericho grumbles but nevertheless translates what Lysaedra says.
- Unable to carry two people, the dragon wobbles and releases Ionia. Tiana changes tactics, asking the Skotadi to land so they can meet properly.
- While Jericho and Lysaedra are exchanging thoughts, Maaike spots and probes a second patch of red mist, calling Aiden over to ask what he thinks of it. He tells her not to touch it because it may be toxic, but she already has.
- Ionia grumbles that she can't understand Tiana's request, but from the Mystrider's gesticulations gets the point and lands anyway.
- Jericho has learned that Lysaedra is from a jungle village and that her people, the Mystriders of Chinyelu, are much friendlier than the Malaki. Lys is offering to escort them safely down the valley to meet her Wing Master.
- Lysaedra spots Maaike touching the red mist and freaks out. She says Maaike is infected now and cannot go to her village after all.
- Tiana tells Ionia she was heading into Mystrider airspace but the language barrier makes it impossible to understand her.
- Chapter Three has ended. The vanguard met up with Tiana and Ionia. Lysaedra suggested they escort the group to the temple so someone they call "the sovereign" can provide Maaike with the cure, but they are interrupted by the arrival of another squadron from Tiana's village. Vynett is being attacked by Malaki raiders but they cannot evacuate as they normally would because several newly bonded youngsters are grounded. Lysaedra asks the vanguard for their help, having learned of their victory against the Malaki tribe in Chandric, and Tiana agrees to take Maaike and other potential infectees to the temple as payment. She also agrees to station a squadron at the portal to ferry any Elysians who follow the vanguard to and from Vynett, and to carry messages and reports.
- Characters wishing to leave or (re)join the main group may now do so freely. Travelling between the portal and Vynett will take a maximum of one day, but requires two (or more for larger people) myst dragons carrying the character in a makeshift sling.
