The Snowflake Ball!


Yep that's right, seeing as there was a huge party for Halloween, why not one for Winter/Christmas? The thread is in the Alps, just
here.. but there's some other information you might need.

The main thing is that because it's a ball, formal attire is required. It doesn't have to be fancy - just no turning up in a pair of dungarees with a straw hat on please
Secondly, there will be NPC's there - dancing, serving drinks at the bar, as well as the waiters walking around with the canapes. Please treat them as normal characters, and don't bring random new NPC's into the thread unless pre-arranged.
The same rules also apply as during the Halloween party, please escort under level 3's, and suspend other RP's in the Alps until the 30th.

The main activities will be dancing, but of course, if socialising is your thing there will be plenty of people to mingle with. Basically, turn up, and have fun - it will be a night to remember!

I should note that joining a guild is not a requirement, just a little something extra for the new year if your characters are interested in that kind of thing.

Previously, we had a law that stated no player could be governor of more than one sanctuary. This rule was put in place so that we wouldn't be favouring anyone and everyone would have a chance to challenge.

Unfortunately, as sanctuaries become less active, the characters available for the position of governor are fewer and farther between. Since many of the sanctuaries still have to hold their final challenge, I'm hereby waiving this only-one law. If you already have a governor character, you can still enter any future challenge.

However, I will ask that if you cannot spare the time, please don't challenge. Governors are responsible for moderating sanctuaries, keeping them active and giving access to newcomers, so you'll need at least two hours a week on average and should be reading all the threads in your sanctuary to keep up to date. If you can't do that, please don't challenge.

As vampires, and anyone who reads the paper, will know, there's been a bit of a kerfuffle in in Los Angeles, the home of their Crypt. A fledgling vampire has gone mad, killing dozens of humans, and the city's out for blood. Preferably vampiric.

To summarise, Los Angeles is no longer safe for vampires. Or any Elysians for that matter. In Xanth's absence we can't cover this up as we normally would and so the Crypt is being forcibly shut down and vampires evicted.

Maximus has graciously stepped in to offer the vampires temporary shelter in the village but the humans who live there are naturally concerned. We assure you that measures have been taken to prevent vampiric attacks in such an enclosed space but humans should still be on their guard.

If anyone has any concerns or queries, please ask your governors about this, thanks.

On a side note - you'll all notice a few minor tweaks of the OOC forums, mostly renaming. The most noticable change is that Official Records has been moved into the OOC board.
