Following on from the summer review of the skill system and the new designs submitted for the contest, I've begun re-drafting correlating pages:

• Skill Packs
  
  • Removed the Hybrid Packs. Secondary skills will still be available to halfies but will require background in the application instead of a pack.
    
  • Added Adept pack for established members creating their second+ character.
    
  • Packs can now be upgraded and replace lower-grade options (so Heroic replaces Modest, etc), giving you a maximum of 15SP, 3 special items and Tier 3 housing.
    
  • Lowered prices. Upgrading to Heroic costs less than buying it fresh.
    
  • Streamlined footnotes.
  
  
• Skills
  
  • SP bonus added for long-standing activity (member's responsibility; to be added to Prize Shop).
    
  • Added example of application form.
    
  • Streamlined skill lists using spoiler tag. The lists are now hidden until you click on them either by race or alphabet (Malaki, Mystriders and Ohani to be added as they are released).
    
  • Lowered cost of skill points from 20 to 12.
  
  
• Skill pages
  
  • Basic Training added. This skill replaces Combat 1.
    
  • Battle Roar added for Malaki.
    
  • Combat updated. The new version replaces Combat 2.
    
  • Weapons Mastery added. This skill replaces Combat 3.
    
  • Reave Mastery added for Malaki.
    
  • Summon Reaver added for Malaki.
    
  • Might edited - Malaki added, Aides removed (to be removed altogether and monitored separately), levels revamped to be more physical than mathematical.
    
  • Myst Bond added for Mystriders.
    
  • Shroud Manipulation for Mystriders.
    
  • Summon Myst for Mystriders.
    
  • Mirage for Mystriders.
    
  • Aerial Combat added; Mystriders and Dracovari get dragons but anyone can buy an aerial mount.
    
  • Mounted Combat added; Malaki get reavers but anyone can buy a mount.
    
  • Lightning for Mystriders.

I will keep posting in this thread as new pages are completed. If you have any comments about updates, please feel free to post them either here or on the relevant wiki -Talk page.

Notes: I will be going through character profiles to update skills as needed (eg. changing Combat levels to the three new skills). In addition, I'll be looking at ways to minimise the inconvenience of the changes. You guys shouldn't have to do anything yourselves, and I'm not sure at this point exactly what will be happening by way of 'please don't mind us' gifts, but there will likely at least be something fun to make up for any confusion so keep an eye out.

The application example thing looks great Emma, I think that will be really useful for future members because it's quite difficult I think creating a character which fits into somebody's world, at first anyway, and you don't want to make mistakes or seem foolish. Good work

Several skills added for the Mystriders, and two combats added for everyone. Mystriders still aren't available for playing yet, though.
