Entering Alistair Beaumont's apartment, the visitor would find themselves face to face with an almost impossibly neat apartment. There are no plates, dirty dishes or anything unhygienic on the surfaces, and everything is polished to a high shine. The frames on the walls, which display paintings for every type of view of Elysia imaginable, little cheap watercolours you find in souvenir shops, are perfectly straight so the edges form a perfect ninety degree angle. The kitchen area has tiles and counters which have no evidence that the 'Varian even eats, but a breakfast bar facing into the living room shows he doesn't have superpowers.
The living room is neat and open, and not cluttered at all. In fact, any hoarding instinct Alistair has is either concealed and ordered by category into neat boxes in his wardrobe, or shown by the paintings hanging. The sofa is comfortable, the cushions fluffed and undented. Papers with diagrams and Alistair's own handwriting are stacked into neat piles in trays with labels, stacked next to the sofa. Empty bookcases await something to hold, and the view outside of the main window shows the River Cora.
In the bedroom, the covers of the double bed are pressed clean and straight, no creases visible. If the visitor were to open Alistair's wardrobe, they would see the boxes of hoarded objects, but also an array of suits, pressed and folded until they hang in an orderly fashion. There are also jeans, and casual clothes, and though they receive little wear, they are also clean and pressed.
So, in case you didn't understand, Alistair organises his home with an OCD like instinct.
