Temple Of Doom

On Erimis 3, 10,012 XA (July 3rd, 2012), a quake rocked the world. In the months since, Elysians have spent all their free time rebuilding homes and other buildings, but the damage spread far beyond what can be seen on the surface. Crevices and cracks have opened up in the mountains, trees were felled in the forests, and entire cave systems collapsed in on themselves.

One such crack has split open the marshland near Zinovia to reveal what look like the ruins of an ancient temple. Who built the temple, and who it was meant to honour, is unclear but the Voice of Xanth proclaims it theirs and would like to explore in order to recover any artifacts found within. As they are already stretched thin across the mainland to counter the various cults and groups that have popped up trying to proclaim Danae their new god, they are hiring trustworthy freelancers instead.

Objectives:

• Locate the crack that has revealed ruins.
  
• Explore the ruins.
  
• Find and collect any religious artifacts.
  
• Optional: Take the artifacts to the nearest Priest.
  
• OR sell the artifacts for your own gain.
  
• Optional: Find and collect any treasure.
  
• Optional: Donate the treasure to the Zinovian Council to boost morale.
  
• OR sell the treasure for your own gain.

Minimum reward:

• ζ100
  
• +/-1 reputation for collecting religious artifacts
  
• +/-1 reputation for collecting treasure
  
• 5KP if you provide evidence to the Zinovian Council that the temple belonged to Xanth

Note: Zinovia was one of the larger settlements to be targeted by the Sect of the Dragon during Dimitri's War. It is possible the temple belonged to Xanth and was destroyed by such an attack, or it may belong to a cult targeted because Dimitri didn't like sharing. Or it may have nothing at all to do with the Sect; it's your choice.
