It is the night of Halloween, at time where the slightest breath of wind sends chills down your spine. All day elysians have been bustling about, purchasing last-minute costumes and candies, quickly carving pumpkins and tossing them upon their porches, and lazily tacking up decorations on their doors. While others...others are preparing for the extravaganza. The Halloween party of all parties. It is something no one would miss...at least, no elysian would miss. The humans, well, they lived unaware of what their magical neighbors were up to. Most of them, at least. Soon the sun sinks below the horizon and shadows are cast upon the ground. Ever so slowly, people begin to trickle out their doors and head in one direction; towards the Fae Forest.

The party is easy enough to find, for the Fae Tree is the tallest among the trees. Its towering figure can be spotted not far from the portal in which the partiers are arriving. The scattering of dead leaves and murmuring of approaching creatures can be heard echoing amongst the branches as you stand nervously before entering. Once you gather up enough courage, you enter this seemingly different realm. Skeltons of leafless trees drape above you as you travel north into the heart of the forest. It is almost as though they are alive...their empty stares watching you, and their long thin fingers reaching out, ready to snatch you up on this spooktastic eve. After a poorly lit hike through this sea of shrubs, you push through one last branch and stumble upon a clearing bathed in an eerie moonlight. And there before you stands the Fae Tree, its magnificence only magnified by this cloudless night of mystery.

The first decoration you see, something elegent and fitting, is a black arch, dark green ivy snaking up the sides. A string of halloween lights shaped like small jack-o-lanterns is entwined amongst the ivy leaves, giving a small glow to the plants. Hanging from the center of the uppermost part of the arch is a blinking sign reading 'Beware'. On each side of the arch is a pile of pumpkins, each round, orange, and seemingly perfect. Stepping through the archway, the clearing around the Fae Tree is lit up by string after string of the same Halloween lights decorating the arch. A long buffet table is set up off to the side, a black table cloth spread over it. Sitting on the table are different Halloween treats, ranging from candy to punch to baked goods. The table stretches on into eternity, the darkness of the tablecloth rarely visible between the mounds of plates and platters. Five punch bowls sit at one end next to various Halloween themed napkins, plastic silverware, and cups. Their contents range in colors. One is orange, while another is thick and red. Blood perhaps? Every cookie is cut into something Halloween-related, orange icing and black sprinkles covering their surfaces. Cakes upon cakes fill your view. From eyeballs to bats to fake blood, nothing is non-festive on the table. There are a few pumpkins scattered upon it as well, some carved into jack-o-lanterns with flickering candles inside. Along with the pumpkins, there are a few black cat plushies adorning the table. And to the left of the grand buffet is a large, blown up Frankenstein. Stuffed halloween costumes are also shoved into the ground upon a stake, their eyeless sockets looking out into nowhere. Beware signs are hung wherever there is room, their letters seeming to have been painted with blood. Most of the clearing runs beside the buffet, a large space for socializing and dancing. Chairs are set up by the tree and the table...spots meant for resting when the party becomes too much. Bright, blinking lights can be seen on the opposite side of the clearing. You would have to walk across to see that they are actually game booths...a mini-carnival for those with dancing phobias to hang out. Lastly, a small stage with deep crimson curtains sits on the left side of the clearing bewtween the game booths and the food table. (when facing through the entrance arch, tree right, booths across, stage left, food next to, dancing space in the center)

Then you spot the lonely figures of two slender women, one taller than the other, standing awkwardly near the trunk of the tree. They seem to be talking to one another, and various frills and poofs can be seen from their silhouettes; they are obviously in costume. Music suddenly booms, then lowers and the genres change as the songs are flicked through; modern, classical, slow, loud bass, fast-paced...any type ever desired seems to be present in the boom box.

The Party Has Begun!

After having received the invitation, Castalia had went out for a new costume. She'd decided for something unconventional, a much more rough look then one would expect from the friendly and soft Nymph Matriarch. Completed with shades and her hair painted in a brown-tone she is almost unrecognizable, only parts of her natural Nymph-beauty shimmering through the disguise.

Posted Image

As she follows the path through the forest she finally enters the area where the Fae Tree is located. As it seems she's one of the first guests for this evening thus she takes some time to look around and explore. The decorations are just wonderfull and the food looks very tasty. She notices that they've even set up a dance-floor. Silently she hopes that she'll get a chance to dance tonight as she just loves it.

Wide-eyed but smiling, Lily stumbled through the portal, having almost tripped over it. She gave a small giggle at the thought of tripping over the portal, and entering the area head over heels; it was something Lily was only too likely to do, sooner or later. Her giggle turned into something like a nervous hiccup however, when she took in her dim surroundings. Her eyes darted everywhere, as she hesitantly stepped forward, eying the thin branches warily. Lily increased her pace as she felt chills up her spine, her brisk walk changing to a run towards a source of light in the distance. She had to admit, she wasn't liking the experience too much so far; but when had she ever liked Halloween? Still, she couldn't imagine ever missing out on a party if she had the choice, and couldn't wait to get dancing.

She eventually reached the clearing, her sigh of relief at reaching somewhere brighter clearly audible. Her costume -if it could be called a costume, considering it had simply been recovered from Lily's wardrobe at the last minute- was actually visible in this light; Lily smiled as she looked down at her small feet proudly displaying a pair of delicate, cherished ballet shoes. The rest of her outfit matched her footwear well - the ballet tutu and even the circlet upon her head was of the same style and colour as the ballet pumps, and even her wings unintentionally added to the cutesy image. Lily fluttered her wings proudly; despite still being of a grey tone, she felt they were getting a little stronger, and couldn't wait until she could fly properly with them. She decided to test them out a little as she began to run over to the buffet table to have a look at the feast, changing her light run to a short glide as she neared the table.
Posted Image

Lily beamed as she saw the table's offerings; delicious looking cakes and cookies, punch - although she recoiled a little at the sight of what seemed to be blood, her face going pale - and some adorable decorations. Lily's face softened as her eyes fell upon the cat plushies. How darling, she thought, picking one up and feeling its soft fake fur. She wondered briefly if they were simply decorations or intended as gifts for party-goers, but her thoughts took another turn as she caught sight of the Halloween costumes impaled upon a stake. Believing the costumes to be real, Lily gasped and dropped the plushie back onto the table as she took a horrified step backwards. She eventually realised her mistake upon looking closer at the gory decorations, and gave a shaky laugh, trying to get into the Halloween mood.

Deciding that some dancing would cheer her up, Lily bounded onto the dance floor, and began dancing along to a fast paced song, oblivious to the fact that she was the only one dancing. Well, someone has to be the first - and Lily was perfectly happy to embarrass herself -not that she ever got embarrassed about dancing alone- in order to get everyone else dancing. She grinned as she twirled about, not only looking like a ballerina but acting like one too.

((Avvie ish picci :P)

Eilidh walked through the portal, her arms folded, very conscience of her costume. It was a little too cutesy for her, really, a vampire or devil would be more suiting for her, but, as she had been constantly pestered, there would be a lot of them there, so she should go as something more original. She didn't really consider the rabbit too original, there would probably be others with the same costume, no doubt pathetic giggly girls wispering amost their friends about her cute the were.

Mind you, thought Eilidh. Rabbit is the worse, I mean I could be a flower or something. She looked round, taking in the decorations. Woah, this is way better than the halloweens back home.

She spotted a girl in a tutu already dancing. Eilidh raised her eyebrows at the costume, not really in discust, more relief, At least I'm not the only one who's not a blood sucking demon. She briefly considered joining her, but decided against it I'm not gonna make a fool of myself, I'll wait for other people. Instead, she moved towards the table, her eyes wide at the selection of treats, and lifted a glass, filling it with punch. She sipped it while looking round for familiar faces.

For the extravaganza, Laurel had sprayed her hair purple, and, being a rodent 'shifter, had shifted her ears into those of a rabbit. Her outfit wasn't terribly specific, but she had liked the way it looked with her hair sprayed and her ears. She was one of the first to arrive, as excited as she was for it. There were aithe, Sanura, and three others. Hopefully more will show up soon... She smiled and waved at the two she knew, walking out of the entry way and standing to the side.

Jade walked into the clearing
And was happy to see this party, in Elysia!
It already feels like home... she whispered to herself, smiling as she noticed everyone having fun with the holidays.
I wonder what they'll do for Christmas. she said to herself, grinning like a madman. She walked over to the buffet and picked up a sugar cookie with globs of frosting.
Just one more reason to love Elysia! she thought in her head, while taking a huge bite out of the cookie, and in the process walking out to the dance floor to "mingle" as her parents would have called it.

Alieh entered through the portal in her new costume, that of a skunk. She had thought that there would probably be no other skunks here, so she would be relitively safe.

She brought her large tail round and hugged it. The fluff was fake of course, but she had placed the fur on top of her shifted linx tail, so she could move it like it was real.

She spotted someone already dancing, in a tutu. She smiled and went to join her. "Hi," She said, begining to dance. The scene probably looked ridiculous, a dancing skunk.

Lily almost jumped when she heard someone address her; she was so wrapped up in her dancing. Lost in the music, as they say. Lily smiled fondly as she remembered the saying, one which her mother -a dancer herself- had favoured. Turning her attention to the newcomer, Lily turned to face her and flashed her a wide grin, pleased that someone had joined her on the dance floor. She realised with a start of surprise that this had been the first Elysian to express a gesture of friendliness; the other Anyeli at her sanctuary had been friendly enough, but none of them had actually approached Lily first. This thought added a sparkle to her eyes as she replied to the girl, who appeared to be dressed as a... skunk? How cute!

"Hi! I'm Lily!" She said as she spun yet again in time to the music. "I like your outfit - it's really original!" She paused for breath as she started a fast paced step, tapping her feet jauntily as she beamed at the girl, and added; "It's nice to meet you, by the way - what's your name?" Lily brushed a hand against her cheek, feeling the moisture there. So she was already getting worked up; she slowed her pace a little, dancing a little slower so she wouldn't tire so easily. After all, she had a whole night of dancing ahead of her.

Candy Jar Anyeli, played by Zeem
Posted Image

As you walk along the Extravaganza, you come upon a small booth. The only thing in the booth is a table covered in a deep purple table cloth with a clear jar of candy on top. You step inside the booth, but there doesn’t seem to be anyone there. Hello? you call, peering around the booth. When no one answers, you decide to grab the jar and start to open it. That candy just looks too good! Just as you get the jar open, an Anyeli comes bursting out of a curtain in the back of the booth. No, no no! she cries, looking frazzles. Her frizzy red hair is all over the place under a witch’s hat, and her off white tunic looks disheveled. Her black cape flows behind her, and she’s carrying a rather old looking broom in her hand. That candy’s not for eating! It’s for guessing!
Guessing? you say, looking confused.
Yes, she replies, looking exasperated, guessing. You can pay one dollar, and guess how many pieces of candy are in the jar. At the end of the extravaganza, whoever guesses the closest to the amount of candy gets the whole jar! Would you like to try? You can guess any number between 1 and 200.

Balloon Dart Vampire, played by Zeem
Posted Image

You’re very into eating your candy apple when a noise distracts you from your task (it’s not easy, eating a candy apple). You look around, startled, and notice a tall vampire with a pirate hat and an eye patch beckoning you towards him. You step closer, and he starts talking. Would you like to try your luck? Throw a dart at these balloons. If you pop one, you may get a surprise! Only one prize per person per day. It’s one dollar for one dart, and four dollars for five darts. Just choose a square to shoot at (A1, A2 …etc., look at the chart), and I’ll give you a prize! You look doubtful, and don’t really want to try. Only one dollar, just one dollar! he cries.

The anyeli lauged and snatched the dollar from the girl.Fun?? I don't think so. What's your guess?
The anyeli crossed her arms impatiently and waited for a guess.
Fun? That's a laugh. This is the most boring job in the world.

Toy Bobbin’ Demon, played by Zeem

Completely overwhelmed by the amount of activities at the Extravaganza, you decide to sit down for a bit. You see an unusually large pumpkin that looks perfect! As you’re about to sit down, suddenly the pumpkin talks. You jump up, surprised, and realize the pumpkin is actually a demon in disguise. You start to apologize profusely, and he stops you. It’s all right, he sighs, you weren’t the first one today. You look around him and see a large barrel of liquid filled with Halloween toys. You ask what it is, and he speaks, bored. Oh, that. That’s my game. It’s like bobbin’ for apples. But, you’re bobbing in cider. And instead of apples, there are some toys. Whatever you pull out, you get. It’s one dollar a try, or four dollars for five tries. You interested?

Aithe sighed, resting her hands on her hips and glancing up into the branches of the Fae Tree. After three days of intense decorating and planning she could only hope the party was a sucess. And the success of it depended on her ability to keep party crashers out. That would be the fun part, though. As long as they didn't get too messy.

She shivered slightly in the cool fall breeze and hugged her bare shoulders. It wasn't the smartest outfit she could've chosen, but two hours at a clothing shop had been enough. Sanura had a similar outfit, seeing as they went together. They were twins, as the shifter put it, but cat vs. devil wasn't really twin-like in the dragon's eyes. Though a devil was an improvement compared to the hula dancer Sanura had taken to.

Aithe twirled around and faced the party. Many guests had arrived without her notice...some with rather interesting costumes. Wonder if I'll dance some time tonight.... she thought with a sigh, eyes following the ballerina on the clearing. Then Laurel came into view an a smile spread across her face

Hey Laurel!

{{Kenzie the party-girl human, at your service, played by Kinu}}
Posted Image

Half-running, half-bouncing, Kenzie made her way to the Halloween Extravaganza. Bouncing excitedly through the arch to enter, she glanced around at the others. "Hey now, where's the party?" There were a couple of people dancing by the light o the lights circling the Fae Tree, but the number of people was most certainly not high enough for this human. Grinning like a madwoman, she made her way to the center of the dance area, fending off anyone who got in her way {If there is anyone in the way? o__o}, and started dancing. This is going to be a blast, once more people show up.

Dialto strode into the clearing and immeadiately went to get a drink. Once he had filled his cup, he turned around and faced the party, taking everything in. So this is the big party? It's nice, I suppose. Though the decorations are a little lacking, and those games just look so little kid-ish. At least the food looks good.
Dialto didn't have much interest in coming, but there was nothing else to do. Plus, he found a costume that he felt made him extremely handsome. His only goal was to find a dance partner. His thoughts wandered to the human he had met the day before. He silently sounded out her name again, Belle. It felt so good in his mouth. He had to find a way to make it up to her. Obviously he had gone too fast, and he had to be a little nicer. The latter would be much harder.

Criera wandered into the party and gasped. She couldn't believe how amazing it looked. Those her were already there had great costumes, and she was feeling very proud of her own witch one. She looked for anyone she knew, especially Maeko. Instead, she saw the girl, Laurel, who had helped her in NYC, but she was already talking to someone else.
Criera searched some more, and found an Anyeli from the sanctuary. She ran up to her, and said cheerfully, Hi Lily! Isn't this party so amazing? Then Criera noticed the girl standing next to her in a skunk costume. Hey, my name's Criera! What's yours?

Aithe turned her head to see who was talking to her. She found it was the girl who ran the Halloween shop. Didn't that girl get enough from me? She must be rich now...

She laughed and waved a hand towards the long table. Over there, of course. If I were you, I'd try the red one. The...one to the left of the rice cakes. Then she noticed a rather hyped up girl dancing and scowled. That little energy ball better not ruin any decorations...

I'll guess 192 jellybeans. Jade said, handing $1 to the shopkeeper then noticing the other games decided they could wait before she did some dancing. She noticed Dialto and turned to the shopkeeper and said
Excuse me for a moment. she made her way over to Dialto who seemed in a dreamy state
Hey Dialto, it’s me jade from the jewelry shop. Sorry about the sour mood I gave you in the shop i just came back from the mountains and... she cut herself off, deciding not to say to much and added
Enjoying the party?
