Suddenly Suka was whispering in her ear; Lily almost jumped, having not seen him move in the darkness and as she was distracted with waving to Aiden. Realising how close he was and registering his soft voice, she blushed a little again, but instead made herself focus on what he was saying about the Anyeli situation. She didn't understand why he wanted to keep it a secret from others, but supposed it was just to make sure his plans for peace weren't disrupted - besides, she didn't get a chance to inquire into it anyway as Suka leant in again to tell her about Kaeldra (at least she assumed it was Kaeldra, considering what she had been discussing with her recently). She grinned, pleased that Kaeldra had apparently decided to join the same faction as herself and that she had helped Suka in spreading the message, even if it was only to the one Anyeli. Her pride increased as she saw Suka's own grin; he looked so happy, Lily couldn't help but feel it was because he was happy that Anyeli were listening to his message.
Lily turned back to Aiden as he spoke - she was surprised to see him now in his human form, but smiled nonetheless (more of a smile bordering on a giggle as she noted his messy hair, making him appear as adorable as he had been in cat form) - he seemed really friendly. She sat back and watched the interaction between the two, blushing and looking fixatedly down at the ground when Suka lifted his shirt up. She looked up again, her mouth a little open in surprise as she heard Suka mention that he used to be Apalos. She smiled; he really was the perfect leader for the peace campaign - he couldn't have any prejudices, especially as he used to be Apalos himself. Remembering what Suka had said about remaining quiet about Anyeli business, Lily forced herself to forget her urge to ask about the change of wing colour and instead said, "Have you two known each other long, then?", applying the question to both of them. She had to admit, she was mostly interested in how they'd met - what if there was some Elysian meeting place that she didn't know about?

Deciding to chance being seen, she moved further towards the trio, the cat having now shifted into a human, That explains why he was up here, she thought. Aware that she was a lot more visible she knew there was a chance she could be seen, but from the expression upon Lily's face, she gathered that she had other things on her mind - perhaps including Suka? Scarlett sighed, she too, found him attractive, but having caught him in an embrace with women many times she knew he wasn't a particularly nice guy - at least not to women.

The leader of Skotadi? He didn't know what that meant, but Aiden was surprised. He hadn't thought of Suka as the leader type. Then again, he didn't know him well. Placing his palms behind him and leaning back, Aiden chuckled, "Course not. I haven't done anything interesting since that bug thing. The department's no fun at all, though the view's occasionally nice," he referred to his lovely co-worker. He hadn't an interest in Nymphadora, but anyone who had eyes had to admit that the girl was pretty.
Have you two known each other long, then?
He lazily turned his neck to look at Lily, "Ah, we got ourselves in trouble a while ago, but nothing else. Met him at the S-zap-ping Ring." After a pause, he shifted his gaze to Suka, "Last I heard, the place has been deserted."

Excuse me, Scarlett. I didn't see you there. Beg pardon, but have you seen a a white wallet? I believe I left it here last time I visited- Aha! Just behind Scarlett, there was her wallet, slightly scuffed and dirty, but apparently intact and untouched. Grabbing it, she began to try and squeeze it into her little wristlet she had. Kaethe looked almost immature, as she stood there, her tongue sticking out slightly in concentration.

Suka ignored the comment about the s-zap-ping ring. This one was much more fun. Besides, talking about the s-zap-ping ring would only bring up bad issues with Lily. Ones he didn't want her to hear before she was placed into his faction.

"Oh damn.." she muttered under her breath. Hoping to keep Kaethe from revealing her position she turned to her and spoke,
"Hey. Found your purse then I see. How come you left it here?"

What? Oh. Right. I was here a bit ago, and I didn't even realize that I'd left my wallet until it came time to pay for the food last night. Some lush was nice enough to pick up the tab. So here I am. And there it was! Kaethe smiled, remembering how much fun last night was. It had been a bit since she had gone out last, and truly let herself loose. She kept herself on such a tight reign these days- one slip, and the temporary truce the Anyeli were maintaining would be shattered. So she had gone Xanth knows how long without going clubbing. And last nighti n New York was sheerly transcendental. Nodding in the general direction of the little group gathered not too far away, she inquired of Scarlett.
So, why don't you join them? Life tends to be more fun when you have someone to enjoy it with. She didn't add the Suka was hardly the person she would choose to spend valuable leisure time with. She got to see him during the day enough as it was. Lookiing down at herself, she realised that she was still dressed from yesterday. She had had a good time, but she didn't think she'd had that good a time.
((OoC- No. It's not like that. She stayed out clubbing all night, and slept all through the day, and wanted to get her wallet back ASAP, so she hasn't had a chance to get cleaned up. Nyeah.))

"True, it may be more fun, but for now I'm just observing. I'll probably leave in a moment anyway." Scarlett lied outright, for she had no intention of leaving anytime soon, and this time she couldn't push down the curiousity that bubbled inside her. Although now it seemed the plotting was over, and Scarlett began to wonder what exactly the time was, and whether it would be that bad if she did reveal herself.

Lily's eyes widened as she thought she heard a laugh in the darkness - she began to feel panicked for a moment, but managed to calm down by assuring herself that it was just her fear of the dark playing tricks on her. Instead she focused on the bright lights blinking in the city far below, on, off, on, off. Like the lights on a Christmas tree, twinkling bright and festive. Assuming the guys would be occupied with their guy talk, she began humming a Christmas tune quietly to herself, cheering up at the thought of the approaching holiday as she smiled and tapped her outstretched toes on the ground rhythmically in front of her.

The anyeli beside him began to hum, but Aiden heard something else...some voices murmering at a distance. Had he been in cat form, his ears would have twitched. The curious, primal part of that form would have itched to investigate the noise. For now, he chose to ignore the sound.

Think you would fly virtical down this building and come up level just before the pavement reaches you? He asked. Normal low level Anyeli couldn't do a stunt like that. But there were a few flyers out there very capable beyond their years. He'd yet to see Lily's flying, and wondered how good she was. If he wanted to have a good Skotadi warrior. Even if she never agree'd to fight, there were many uses for her.

Why leave? The view is so beautiful; don't let others drive you away. Standing up on the ledge, she let the strong breezes constantly surrounding the building buffet her a bit as she surveyed all of New York City, at her red leather-clad feet.

"Its getting on a bit. I must be going."
Heading back towards the doors Scarlett no longer stuck to the shadows, it did not matter if she was seen, she knew something was being planned, but imaging it to be simply a small idea there was nothing to stay for, and it did not matter if people knew she had been there or not.

Lily smiled as she remembered the instance at her uncle's private pool, where she had experimented with jumping from the highest board (her uncle had been very serious about swimming) but spreading her wings out at the end to avoid actually going into the water. Of course, her wings had been smaller then and so she'd gone straight into the pool anyway, but maybe she could do it now. She had been practising her flying a lot, and her mother had always said that she had natural grace. And so she replied, a little uncertainly at first, then with more enthusiasm; "Sure. I mean, I've never really done it before, but I guess it couldn't hurt to try."
She jumped up energetically from her sitting position, using her hands to push herself up. Ooookay, flying time. She thought about what her parents had always told her about flying; check that the wind isn't too strong, and... and... Lily looked down anxiously as she tried to remember the formerly familiar flight tips, but they had chosen this moment to escape her memory. Looking back up again, her face appearing resolute despite the anxiety in her eyes, Lily caught sight of someone familiar by the doors. Scarlett! Lily began to run forward in order to greet her, but stopped as she saw that the girl was heading for the doors, presumably leaving.
Instead of pursuing her as she normally would have done, Lily instead decided to focus on the flying challenge, and so spun around and walked slowly to the edge of the roof, then uneasily looked straight down. Eep, it was a big drop, bigger than Lily had anticipated. She wasn't feeling quite so comfortable about the idea, and looked around the roof as if to seek reassurance - and caught sight of yet another familiar person (funny how the few people she knew where nearly all on the roof) sitting on the ledge beside her. Kaethe.
Remembering the first time she had met the Arkiga, Lily vaguely recalled the first thing that Kaethe had ever said to her; "Maybe you should try and fly from the highest tower. Then, if you fall, we will have one less annoying baby Anyeli." Lily stepped back from the ledge uneasily, thinking on that comment - if she tried to fly off the building, would it kill her? She felt all her enthusiasm for the idea leave her, and began to back away from the ledge - but she didn't want to give up that easily. Filled with indecision, she wavered for a moment by the ledge; what to do? Try and fly anyway? Go back to Suka and Aiden? But that would mean giving up, and then there was Kaethe. Uncomfortable as she was with the Arkiga, especially as Lily now thought Kaethe was about to wage war, she didn't like the idea of just leaving her alone on the ledge, and if the Arkiga had seen Lily then she couldn't just walk away. Fretting, Lily turned away from the other Anyeli and looked down over the ledge agaain, contemplating whether to fly down or not.

He tensed when he heard Suka's dare. Was he crazy? The feat was dangerous---Chenoan wouldn't have done it back in those days before he became aide---and Lily seemed so fragile. Remembering his earlier adventures with Suka, Aiden doubted the girl could control her wings. He placed his palms on each side and stood.
"Wait..." he said as he reached her side.

When he felt she was safe, he folded his hands behind his back and took a step away from her and teetered on the ledge. Looking down, he turned to Aiden with a grin. Like flying? He asked. It would be funny to pick up Aiden as a cat and fly around with him. He could imagine the guy being scared half to death. Snorting to himself, he thought, Cats.

Suka. How long has it been since I last saw you? Not long enough, I'm certain. Leaving him to do what he will, she flew over to the little anyeli she'd seen earlier. Alighting delicately, placing her red leather lace-up stilettoed feet gently on the ledge and readjusting her minidress, which had gotten a bit mussed up in her little escapade, before speaking with interest.
Well, well, well. Who do we have here? And where have you been keeping this little one, Suka? Afraid you might drive her off if she knew how true anyeli act? Turning her head to look at Suka, her curls swirling out and then dropping back down, Kaethe allowed herself a small smirk. Nothing too noticeable, must try and be nice to Suka, at least in publice. Honestly. If Xanth had wanted the Apalos and Skotadi to truly get along, she would have put a more competent and professional Skotadi in the position of Kurios. She was practically begging for a reTurning her face back to the blonde creature in front of her, she bent down and peered into her scared little face.
I don't believe we've met before. What's your name, hun? Kaethe was surprised that she had no memory of this particular anyeli- she had made it her mission to meet as many Anyeli as possible.

Looking upward, Aiden saw the grin. The cat shifter replied bluntly, "Actually, I rather like the ground." And trees. He liked being high in trees, but only when he could feel the wood beneath his paws. Smirking in return, he continued, "Then again, I've never taken flight, so I wouldn't know."
A sound of movement and a blur. A curly haired angel appeared before Suka and Aiden couldn't help but think 'Should she really fly like that in such a short dress?' As the girl pranced around Suka, Aiden wondered why her face was so familiar...
Stuffing his hands into his pockets, he remembered their spar in the sc rapping ring. That had been so long ago. Like Suka, the girl had changed.

Looking back up as Kaethe had come back and began talking to him, he frowned. Before, he might have had an intrest in her. He might have wanted, and liked her attention. But now, all she did was cause trouble for him. And he didn't want to deal with it. She wasn't worth it. He didn't even bother with her comment about not seeing eachother. She hadn't even seen his wings yet. Catching the last bit of her sentance, he scowled. -squeal-! He thought nastily.
When she went towards Lily, he half smirked. There was probably nothing Kaethe could say to make Lily change her mind. Kaethe was so full of hate towards him, she wouldn't be able to shut her trap and would show Lily that in fact, Suka had been right about her. She was a war mongering Anyeli, with only one thought, being a -squeal- to him. Your absoultly right Kaethe. If she knew how ture Anyeli act, such as yourself, she'd wish she was born another species. Turning away from her, he glared out into the city. Clenching his fists, he wished Kaethe and him were alone. Then he would throw her off the side of building after breaking her wings. Teach her to keep her trap shut.
Turning back to Kaethe and Lily, he looked at the young Anyeli and gave her a soft smile. You don't have to talk to her if you dont want to. I know I wouldn't. He turned back away from the two and looked back out over the city. At this moment, he was really missing his shop. At least people who went in there actually liked him. Leaning in towards Aiden, he spoke softly so only he could hear. Dude, i know its wrong to hit a girl, but i'm like seriosuly tempted. He told him. His tone was casual, and more friendly than what he wished he could say, but he needed to vent. And from the look he'd seen on Aiden's face when looking at her, he thought he might feel the same. Sort of.

Why, Suka, whatever has gotten your knickers all in a twist? Afraid you won't get enough Skotadi warriors to protect you and your big ego from big bad Kaethe? Oh dear, oh dear. Apparently you've never heard of a little thing called diplomacy and basic kindness. Life's not all death and violence, no matter how much some of us wish that was true. Turning away, she ambled back to the Anyeli, pointedly ignoring any reply from Suka. Plopping down onto the ledge in front of her, she smiled warmly.
Now, where were we? Ah, yes. We were just introducing ourselves. I am Kaethe Raesaen. And as you must already know Suka and Aiden, that leaves you. Well, there was Scarlett, but she left. But back to you, whoever you might be.
